River Ranch Resort Introduce
River Ranch Resort, located at 101 River Rd in Noel, Missouri, offers a camping and river experience for local users seeking a getaway in nature. Situated near you, this resort provides access to the scenic Elk River and a campground environment that has been described by some visitors as beautiful and peaceful, particularly during weekday stays. River Ranch Resort aims to be a destination where families and individuals can enjoy the outdoors, with the added attraction of river floating activities.
The environment of River Ranch Resort is noted for its natural beauty. Guests have mentioned the pleasant surroundings and the overall aesthetic appeal of the campground itself. The location along the Elk River provides opportunities for water-based recreation and offers a potentially tranquil setting. The feeling of safety within the campground has also been highlighted in visitor feedback, which can be an important consideration for families and solo travelers alike. The peaceful atmosphere, especially during the week, suggests that River Ranch Resort can be a place to unwind and connect with nature away from the usual weekend crowds.
River Ranch Resort's primary services appear to revolve around providing access to the Elk River for floating and offering accommodation in the form of cabins and potentially campsites. While the specific types of campsites (e.g., RV hookups, tent areas) are not detailed in the provided reviews, the mention of cabin stays indicates that they offer more structured lodging options. Cabin 40 was specifically mentioned in one review, though it's important to note that this particular cabin reportedly had issues with a sewer odor during the stay. This suggests that while cabin rentals are available, potential maintenance concerns might exist and should be considered by prospective guests.
A key feature of River Ranch Resort is the opportunity for river floating on the Elk River. However, recent customer experiences indicate that the quality of the float can be heavily dependent on water levels. One review described the water as being "pretty much a stand still" and "too low," leading to a disappointing experience. It's important for potential visitors to be aware that natural conditions like water levels can fluctuate and may impact the enjoyment of river activities. The same review also raised concerns about the transparency of information provided by some staff members regarding the river conditions, suggesting that it might be prudent for guests to independently verify current water levels before planning a float trip.
Another feature mentioned in the reviews is the check-in process and staff interactions. One first-time floater noted a lack of clear directions after check-in and described one staff member as unhelpful and condescending. However, this same reviewer also mentioned that "everyone else was super pleasant and sweet," indicating a potential inconsistency in staff helpfulness. It would be beneficial for River Ranch Resort to ensure clear communication and consistent customer service across all staff members to enhance the guest experience.
In terms of potential issues, the reviews highlight a few areas of concern that local users should be aware of. The recurring sewer odor in at least one of the cabins (Cabin 40) is a significant issue that impacted the stay for multiple guests and their neighbors. The lack of a satisfactory response from the front desk when this issue was reported is also a point of concern. Additionally, the experience with low water levels on the Elk River and the perceived lack of forthrightness from some staff members regarding these conditions could detract from the overall enjoyment of the river activities. The presence of a crew digging up ground and doing work on the property during one guest's stay also suggests that construction or maintenance activities might occur, potentially impacting the peacefulness of the environment.
Despite these issues, one reviewer mentioned that the area was very nice, the campground was beautiful, and they felt safe, expressing a willingness to give River Ranch another try in the hope that the issues they experienced would be resolved. This suggests that the resort has positive aspects that attract visitors, such as its location and aesthetic appeal. However, it is crucial for River Ranch Resort to address the concerns raised in the reviews to ensure a consistently positive experience for all guests.

When booking, it would also be wise to inquire about the current water levels on the Elk River and any ongoing maintenance or construction activities that could potentially affect your stay. Asking about the specific amenities available at the campsites and in the cabins will also help you prepare for your trip.
In conclusion, River Ranch Resort offers a potentially beautiful and peaceful camping experience with the added benefit of access to the Elk River for floating. While some guests have reported positive experiences regarding the scenery and safety of the campground, it's important for local users to be aware of potential issues such as fluctuating river conditions, occasional cabin maintenance problems, and inconsistencies in staff helpfulness, as highlighted in recent reviews. River Ranch Resort Reviews
Overall we had a decent stay. We went on the float and water was pretty much a stand still and really it was too low, but that isn’t River Ranch Resorts fault. It was such a let down. When we were checking out, the group in front of us asked the employees if that water was floating smoothly and the front desk lady wasn’t honest with them and told them it was going to be a great float. I did tell them that was the exact opposite of our experience. We stayed in cabin 40 and smelled sewer the entire time. No one wanted to eat outside or hang out. We alerted the front desk and they didn’t say much (so did our neighbors because they smelled it too). Our last day they had a crew of men digging up some ground doing work. The area was very nice, campground was beautiful and felt safe, it was very peaceful since we stayed in the week. We would give River Ranch another try hoping the few issues we had would be resolved.
Jul 25, 2024 · Hannah BarberIt was my first time floating, the water was beautiful. They don't really have clear directions on what to do after check in. The staff lady who was sitting outside wasn't very helpful and was super condescending with responses to my questions on what to do with our transportation tickets. Everyone else was super pleasant and sweet. I would recommend but expect staff to be unhelpful.
Aug 17, 2024 · Kaylee MullerI wouldn't camp here again they mowed the day before we got there so we had grass stuck on is the entire time we were there, way over priced, out 14 year olds got charged as adult pricing and being your own toilet paper! The portable potty that was closest to us was leaking and the whole floor was covered in yak , poor kid waking me up at 2am crying because he needed to use the restroom and couldn't find any anywhere(they stuff we brought got soaked and ruined) they don't maintain the potties. that's my biggest complaint. Bugs were bad but if you kept a fire going it wasn't as bad. Floating was great tho! We went on a busy weekend and extremely not family friendly, dont bring your teenagers if you don't want them seeing R rated stuff. Other than that the rope swings were fun. There are a couple dangerous turn on the 5 mile. I would go floating here again but not camping. I like that they have swimming access while camping. Wear sunblock you will get fried. The river itself is beautiful
Jul 29, 2024 · Cynthia EdwardsVery easy to schedule and book reservations. Staff was great to work with and bent over backwards to help us and make sure we had everything we needed. We picked a primitive camping spot. It was very well groomed and kept. My only concern with the location was there was a lot of poison ivy. Next time we’ll ask for a location with more rock and less grass to avoid that. The only suggestion I would have for changes is to add a courier to pick us up after the float to take us to our campsite (we had our own kayaks… our campsite was probably 1/2 mile away from where we got out of the river. While there was a transport running every 15 minutes in the morning to make sure campers/floaters got to the busses (and they took our kayaks and gear with us), there was no return service in the afternoon when we got back. We had to bring our own vehicle up to retrieve our gear and kayaks.
May 27, 2024 · Deborah AllenOur group camps here every year in the Late night loop and it really is a great place except the campgrounds are hit or miss sometimes and very nice and other times the bugs are so bad . They are so busy every weekend that they could take care of the bathrooms a little better. All in all it is a great time!
