Bourne Scenic Park Introduce
For local residents seeking a "camping near me" experience in the Buzzards Bay area of Massachusetts, Bourne Scenic Park, located at 370 Scenic Hwy, offers a campground with a wide array of activities and a reputation for a dedicated staff. Situated in a location that provides convenient access to the wonders of Cape Cod, Bourne Scenic Park appears to be a popular destination for families and those looking for an action-packed camping getaway close to home.
The environment of Bourne Scenic Park is described by one reviewer as a "nice spot if you want to go explore the cape," indicating its strategic location for accessing the various attractions and natural beauty that Cape Cod has to offer. While specific details about the immediate natural surroundings of the campground are not extensively provided, its designation as "Scenic Park" suggests an environment that is intended to be visually appealing and possibly offer some natural features for campers to enjoy. However, another reviewer noted that the campsites themselves have "not much cover at all," implying that shade and privacy between sites might be limited. This is a factor that local users who value a more secluded camping experience might want to consider.
The services and amenities at Bourne Scenic Park are highlighted positively in one review, which mentions "pools, kids activities, entertainment, great staff, and more." This suggests that the campground is well-equipped to provide a diverse and engaging experience for its guests. The presence of pools indicates opportunities for swimming and recreation during warmer months. The mention of kids' activities suggests that the campground caters to families with children, likely offering organized programs or facilities designed for younger campers. Entertainment further implies that there may be scheduled events or recreational options available on-site to keep guests of all ages occupied. The "great staff" is also a significant positive aspect noted by this reviewer, suggesting a welcoming and helpful atmosphere.
However, another reviewer provided a contrasting perspective on the camping experience itself. While acknowledging the "incredible" staff and the fact that the "campsites are very well kept," this reviewer pointed out a significant drawback: the campsites are "incredibly close together with not much cover at all." This lack of space and privacy between sites could impact the overall relaxation and enjoyment for some campers. Furthermore, this reviewer, despite being a "pretty heavy sleeper," reported being kept awake all night by the noise of "cars flying over route 6," which led them to cut their trip short. This indicates that the campground's proximity to a major roadway might result in significant noise pollution, potentially detracting from the peacefulness of the camping experience. This is a crucial factor for local users seeking a tranquil escape to consider.
The features of Bourne Scenic Park seem to be geared towards providing a lively and activity-filled camping experience. The availability of pools, organized kids' activities, and entertainment suggests a focus on recreation and engagement. This could be a major draw for local families looking for a "home away from home" with plenty to keep everyone busy. The well-kept campsites, as noted by one reviewer, indicate a level of maintenance and care for the grounds. However, the close proximity of the campsites and the lack of natural cover might be considered a drawback for those prioritizing privacy and a more natural, secluded camping feel. The location's convenience for exploring Cape Cod is also a significant feature, making it a potential basecamp for local residents wanting to discover the wider region.
The provided information does not include any specific promotional details or special offers for Bourne Scenic Park aimed at local users or otherwise. It is common for campgrounds to offer varying rates depending on the season, type of campsite, and length of stay. Local residents interested in camping at Bourne Scenic Park should contact them directly using the provided phone numbers, (508) 759-7873 or +1 508-759-7873, to inquire about current pricing, availability, and any potential discounts or packages that might be available. Given its popularity and range of amenities, it would be beneficial to inquire about any local resident rates or off-season specials that could enhance the value of a stay.
The two customer reviews present a somewhat mixed picture of Bourne Scenic Park. One reviewer enthusiastically praises it as the "best campground" with a plethora of activities and a great staff, highlighting the creation of "precious memories." This suggests a positive experience for those who value a lively and amenity-rich camping environment. However, the second reviewer, while also commending the staff and the upkeep of the campsites, strongly cautions about the lack of privacy due to the close proximity of sites and the significant noise from nearby Route 6, which ultimately led to a negative experience. This contrasting feedback indicates that while Bourne Scenic Park offers many appealing features and a convenient location for exploring Cape Cod, potential noise issues and the lack of privacy between campsites are important considerations, especially for local users seeking a relaxing retreat.
In conclusion, Bourne Scenic Park in Buzzards Bay, MA, offers a "camping near me" option with a wide range of activities, including pools, kids' programs, and entertainment, along with a well-regarded staff. Its location is also advantageous for exploring the attractions of Cape Cod. However, local users should be aware of potential drawbacks highlighted in a recent review, specifically the close proximity of campsites with limited privacy and significant noise pollution from nearby Route 6. While it might be an excellent choice for families seeking an action-packed stay and a base for Cape Cod adventures, those prioritizing peace, quiet, and privacy might find these factors to be significant deterrents. It is recommended that local residents contact Bourne Scenic Park directly to inquire about campsite options, noise levels in different areas of the campground, and any available local discounts before making a reservation to ensure it aligns with their desired camping experience.

Bourne Scenic Park Reviews
This is the best campground with so much to do. Pools, kids activities, entertainment, great staff, and more. So many precious memories made at this home away from home.
Mar 12, 2025 · Kathy AndersonThe staff was incredible. Campsites are very well kept, but so incredibly close together with not much cover at all. I am a pretty heavy sleeper and was still up all night with cars flying over route 6. Ended up cutting the trip short because of it, so definitely keep that in mind! Nice spot if you want to go explore the cape, but for locals who just want to relax go up to NH instead.
Sep 12, 2024 · Allison KenneyWe love camping at BSP. Very family and dog friendly place to visit. Directly on the Cape Cod Canal with lots of boat traffic to see.One of my favorite things to do here is a little tie-dying. Not all perfect, but we have a blast doing it!
Oct 11, 2024 · Sheila KingWe very much enjoyed our stay at the park. Sites are tightly put together but mostly laid out to not feel too crowded. I FEEL STRONGLY ABOUT CAMPING AS NEUTRAL TERIROTY, BUT THIS PLACE WAS FLOODED WITH POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENT FROM CAMPERS GOLF CARTS, FLAGS AND BANNERS. Camping is for relaxing, not for throwing your opinion in everyone's face.
Oct 03, 2024 · Kevin DowdWe were camping there. Beautiful grounds. Great location. Though a little loud if you are a light sleeper. Nice facilities. I wish the pool didn't close at 5. The website said the pool closes at 7. We showed up and it was close. Otherwise great campsite, with a lot to do on site and in the vicinity. Will definitely be back.
