Scusset Beach Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the beautiful Cape Cod region of Massachusetts? Consider Scusset Beach Campground, located on an unnamed road in Sandwich, MA 02563. Reviews from actual campers provide valuable insights into what makes this campground a desirable local destination. Combining these experiences with the platform category of "camping near me," we can introduce Scusset Beach Campground to local users seeking a coastal camping adventure.
One of the standout features of Scusset Beach Campground, highlighted by multiple reviewers, is its prime location. It is described as being "right on the canal and next to the beach area," offering a unique blend of waterfront environments. For local users searching for "camping near me" with easy access to both a canal and a beach, Scusset Beach Campground presents an excellent option. Imagine having the choice between relaxing by the canal, enjoying the beach, or perhaps even both in a single day.
The proximity to the Cape Cod Canal bike/walking trail is another significant advantage mentioned by reviewers. The trail is described as "perfect all along the canal," being "paved and easy flat going." This makes Scusset Beach Campground an ideal base for local cyclists and those who enjoy leisurely walks or runs with scenic water views. If you're looking for "camping near me" that incorporates opportunities for outdoor recreation beyond the campsite itself, the direct access to this well-maintained path is a major draw.
The beach itself is noted as "nice," although one reviewer mentioned it being "a bit of a walk from the campground area where we stayed." Importantly, they also pointed out that "there are campsites closer to the beach if you choose those," giving local users the option to prioritize beach access when booking their site. This flexibility caters to different preferences, whether you prefer to be closer to the water or perhaps closer to other amenities or the canal path.
For those interested in fishing, the canal appears to be a popular spot, with the reviewer noting that "lots of people were fishing in the canal." If "camping near me" with fishing opportunities is high on your list, Scusset Beach Campground's location directly on the canal could be very appealing. You might be able to enjoy fishing right from the banks, just steps from your campsite.
In terms of the campsites themselves, one reviewer with a 40’ motorhome pulling a Jeep reported having "no trouble getting in," indicating that the campground can accommodate larger vehicles. They also mentioned that the sites in their area were "back in sites not pull through." It's useful information for local RV owners to know the site configuration. Basic utilities are available, including "water and power," along with a "dump station," although the reviewer noted "no sewer hookups." Another reviewer mentioned "few hookups (water, electric only)," which aligns with this information. For local users with RVs or those planning to use these utilities, this provides a clear picture of what to expect.
The campground is also described as "very nice quiet clean" and "great, affordable." These are significant factors for local users seeking a pleasant and budget-friendly "camping near me" experience. A clean and quiet environment contributes greatly to relaxation and enjoyment of the natural surroundings. The affordability aspect makes it accessible to a wider range of local campers.
Additional amenities mentioned include "bathrooms and hot showers," which are often appreciated by campers looking for a bit more comfort than primitive camping offers. The presence of a "playground for kids" makes Scusset Beach Campground a potentially attractive option for local families with young children seeking a "camping near me" destination that caters to all ages.
One reviewer noted that "limited sites have fire pits." If having a campfire is an important part of your "camping near me" experience, it would be wise to inquire about the availability of fire pits when booking your site. This detail allows local users to make informed choices based on their preferences.
Finally, one review concludes by recommending the campground, stating, "I would recommend this campground." This positive endorsement from a fellow camper adds to the appeal for local users considering Scusset Beach Campground for their next "camping near me" adventure.

Scusset Beach Campground Reviews
Very nice quiet clean campground. Right on the canal and next to the beach area. Bike path is perfect all along the canal. Paved and east flat going. The beach is nice , a bit of a walk from the campground area where we stayed. There are campsites closer to the beach if you choose those. Ours was closer to the canal path. Lots of people were fishing in the canal. The campsite was fine for our 40’ MH pulling a Jeep. We didn’t have any trouble getting in. They are back in sites not pull through. There’s water and power , and a dump station but no sewer hookups. We enjoyed our stay.
Aug 31, 2024 · Joyce HartGreat, affordable campground that’s steps from the beach. Limited sites have fire pits and there’s few hookups (water, electric only). There is a dump station, bathrooms and hot showers. This campground also has the Cape Cod Canal bike/walking trail. There’s a lot of good nature activities to do and a playground for kids. I would recommend this campground.
