The area is known for its diverse wildlife and opportunities for outdoor recreation, making it a desirable destination for those seeking immersion in nature.
One of the key features mentioned in the reviews is the campground's access to Rosie's Falls. The fact that a trip to the campground "leads you to Rosie's Falls" suggests that the waterfall is either located within the campground itself or is easily accessible via a trail from the camping area. Waterfalls are often significant natural attractions, offering scenic beauty and the soothing sounds of cascading water, enhancing the overall camping experience. The mention of a "beautiful bench" carved by someone to enjoy the views further emphasizes the scenic appeal of the area and the thoughtful touches that make the location special.
Another important aspect highlighted by a reviewer is the journey to reach Box Canyon Campground, noting that it requires travel on a dirt road. This is crucial information for local users planning their trip, as it implies that vehicles should be suitable for unpaved roads. While the reviewer states that "once there it is a beautiful campground," the dirt road access suggests a more secluded and potentially less crowded environment, which can be a significant draw for those seeking a quieter camping experience "near me." Cleanliness and maintenance of the camp and facilities are consistently praised in the reviews, with one reviewer stating, "Camp and facilities are clean and well kept." This is a crucial aspect for any camper, as well-maintained facilities contribute to comfort, hygiene, and overall satisfaction. Knowing that Box Canyon Campground prioritizes cleanliness adds to its appeal for local users seeking a pleasant and worry-free camping experience.
The request from the host to "Leave your generators and speakers for the bigger campgrounds, and enjoy the quite sounds of nature" underscores the emphasis on peace and tranquility at Box Canyon Campground. This policy suggests that the campground is designed for those who wish to immerse themselves in the natural soundscape, free from the noise of electronic devices. This makes it an ideal choice for individuals and families looking for a restful and rejuvenating "camping near me" experience where they can truly connect with nature.
The mention of a "short hike down to the river for some exploration" indicates another appealing feature of Box Canyon Campground. Access to a river provides opportunities for various activities such as fishing, wading, or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of flowing water. Riverbanks are often rich in biodiversity and offer scenic spots for relaxation and nature observation, further enhancing the camping experience.
The enthusiastic statement, "Will be back again for sure," from a satisfied camper serves as a strong endorsement for Box Canyon Campground, highlighting the positive impression it leaves on its visitors. Aug 11, 2022 · Daniel HallThis was the cleanest, neatest, and well kept campground that I have ever been to in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. Cliff and Cyndi are the hosts and they make such a difference.
Aug 28, 2024 · Richelle SelleckGreat campground, hiked the trail and saw the milky way from the tent late in the night/early morning. Host is friendly and helpful. Road is dirt and bumpy but passable by car. Best part was the serene atmosphere. First come first serve works for me, as plans can always change.
Jul 13, 2022 · PENGUIN MCSuch a beautiful campground. Lots of trees and privacy. Communal bear boxes. There is potable water and two sets of vault toilets. Backs up to box canyon trail which goes to a waterfall. Camp host was very helpful. Definitely bring bug spray.
