Branch Brook Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the scenic White Mountains region of New Hampshire? Branch Brook Campground, located at 97 Branch Brook Rd, Campton, NH 03223, USA, offers a camping experience with notable highlights and some areas for potential consideration. Based on recent customer reviews, the campground presents a mix of positive natural features and some concerns regarding amenities and maintenance.
One enthusiastic reviewer expressed a strong affinity for Branch Brook Campground, stating, "I would stay here forever if I could!" This positive sentiment is driven by several factors, including the campground's beautiful setting along a river, which is described as unparalleled. The presence of an "awesome" store on-site is also noted, suggesting convenience for campers needing supplies. Furthermore, the reviewer praised the well-maintained trails, the beauty of the trees, a playground that their son enjoyed, and the fun of tubing on the river. They also found the showers to be "wonderful and clean." This review suggests that Branch Brook Campground boasts a lovely natural environment with engaging recreational opportunities and well-kept facilities in some areas.
In contrast, another reviewer provided a more critical perspective, mentioning a perceived decline in the campground over the past five years. This guest pointed out that the pool is "never working," despite the campground advertising a "crystal clear pool and mushroom waterfall." They also described the rec hall as a "Reck" (wreck) and the dirt roads as "treacherous." Despite these criticisms, this reviewer indicated they would still be visiting that summer, albeit for a shorter duration, while also noting that the camping prices continue to rise.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints, Branch Brook Campground appears to be situated in a beautiful location, particularly due to its riverside setting. The river seems to be a significant draw, offering opportunities for activities like tubing. The presence of a store and well-maintained trails are also positive aspects. For families, the playground is another appealing feature, and the cleanliness of the showers is a definite plus.
However, potential visitors should be aware of the concerns raised about the pool's functionality, the condition of the rec hall, and the state of the dirt roads. The discrepancy between the advertised "crystal clear pool and mushroom waterfall" and the reality of a pool that is "never working" is a point to consider. The "treacherous" dirt roads could impact the ease of navigating the campground, especially for larger vehicles or those with mobility concerns.
To get a clearer picture of the current environment, services, and features, contacting Branch Brook Campground directly at (603) 726-7001 or their mobile number, +1 603-726-7001, is recommended. You can inquire about the status of the pool and other advertised amenities, the condition of the roads, the types of campsites available (e.g., tent, RV), and other facilities such as restrooms, fire pits, and picnic tables. Asking about any recent improvements or maintenance efforts might also provide valuable insight.
While no specific promotional information was included in the provided text, the positive review highlights the natural beauty of the location, the enjoyment of river tubing, and the availability of a store and playground as potential draws. For those searching for "camping near me" who prioritize a beautiful riverside setting and access to activities like tubing and hiking, Branch Brook Campground could be a viable option. However, it's wise to be aware of the potential issues raised regarding the pool and road conditions.
For local users in the Campton, NH area looking for a campground with river access, Branch Brook Campground offers this appealing feature along with a store, trails, and a playground. It seems to cater to those who appreciate a natural setting and outdoor activities. However, it would be prudent to weigh these benefits against the reported issues with the pool and road conditions when making your decision.
In summary, Branch Brook Campground offers a potentially beautiful camping experience centered around its river access and natural environment. While some guests have reported issues with certain amenities and infrastructure, others have lauded its beauty and recreational opportunities. If you are drawn to a riverside location with trails and a playground, it may be worth contacting Branch Brook Campground to get the most up-to-date information and decide if it meets your criteria for "camping near me."

Branch Brook Campground Reviews
This place has gone downhill over the past five years. The pool is never working, although they advertise a crystal clear pool and mushroom waterfall. The rec hall is just that, a Reck. Dirt roads are treacherous. Yet the camping price keep going up. Oh, I'll be there this summer anyway, just not as long.
Apr 04, 2025 · RotavirusI would stay here forever if I could! Such a beautiful campground, nothing compares to the river it's on. The store is awesome, the trails are well maintained, the trees are beautiful, my son loved the playground, and tubing was a blast! Showers were wonderful and clean. There are so many sites I'm sure they can accommodate anything. It's definitely going on our favorites list, I hope to visit again soon!
Sep 22, 2024 · Kristen PiccioloA nice campground that is very big and has a wide range of types of sites. Can be a good place for a family trip but because it's so large it brings in a variety of people. Some more rambunctious than others. Bring your bikes there are tons and tons of bike trails in the campground itself.Overall it was a great atmosphere. And there was never not something to do provided by the place itself. From horseshoes to tubing down the river, the swimming pool, a cornhole tournament, live music event, playground, etc.. It was a great selection. To be honest it was probably seven and a half out of 10 on the clean scale but it wasn't bad by any means. My son and I will probably come back here with the same group of friends next year.
Sep 02, 2024 · Chris LaurencioCute little campground! Fun activities, nice pool, kind staff, clean bathrooms. Love how wooded and shady the sites are since it makes it feel like cozy camping! Relatively cheap for the value. The sites were also very roomy and felt super private! Loves the river front view! Only complaint is the potholes- We lost a stabilizer jack to them pulling in at 5 mph so just take it super slow going in & out!
Aug 11, 2024 · Samantha GriggOur family books here every summer. The staff is always super friendly & helpful. The events they host are family friendly, and the facilities are kept up with. Pedro for president!
