Waterville Campground Introduce
Are you searching for a "camping near me" experience nestled in the scenic Waterville Valley of New Hampshire? Waterville Campground, located in Waterville Valley, NH 03215, presents itself as a local option for those looking to explore the White Mountains region. To help you determine if this campground suits your needs, we've compiled an objective overview based on available customer reviews, within the context of the "camping near me" platform category.
The environment of Waterville Campground is described as "nice" by multiple reviewers. One camper specifically highlighted the "huge" campsites, which can be a significant advantage for those seeking more space and privacy. The campground's proximity to a river, with the soothing sound of the water, is also noted as a peaceful and positive aspect of the environment. However, another reviewer mentioned expecting a "prettier setting," indicating that while pleasant, the natural surroundings might be considered "quite general and basic" by some. Overall, the environment seems to offer spacious sites and a riverside ambiance, but individual perceptions of its scenic beauty may vary. For local users seeking "camping near me" with room to spread out and the calming sounds of a river, Waterville Campground could be a good fit.
In terms of services, the reviews provide some insights but also highlight potential shortcomings. The availability of bathrooms is mentioned, but one reviewer reported that they "weren't attended the entire 3 days" of their stay, raising concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. The same reviewer also noted the absence of the "camp host" during their visit, which could impact the availability of assistance or enforcement of campground rules. On the positive side, the campground's location is praised for its proximity to various attractions, including Portland, Freeport, Woodstock, and numerous hiking trails. Additionally, its close proximity (5 minutes) to Town Square, which offers cafes, a coffee shop, and a grocery store, is a significant convenience. This suggests that while the on-site services might be basic or potentially lacking in consistent upkeep, the location provides easy access to external amenities and recreational opportunities for those seeking "camping near me" with nearby conveniences.
The features of Waterville Campground appear to be somewhat basic, aligning with the description of "no frills" and "quite general." The large size of the campsites is a notable feature, offering more space for tents, RVs (though not explicitly mentioned, large sites often accommodate RVs), and outdoor activities within the site. The riverside location of some sites, providing a peaceful auditory backdrop, is another appealing feature. However, the reported lack of enforcement of quiet time (with "little kids" screaming from early morning until midnight) could be a significant drawback for those prioritizing a peaceful camping experience. The proximity to hiking trails directly from or near the campground is a major feature for outdoor enthusiasts. The easy access to the amenities of Town Square, including food and supplies, adds a level of convenience not always found in more remote "camping near me" locations. While the campground itself might lack elaborate features, its location serves as a strong feature, providing access to both natural attractions and town conveniences.

In conclusion, Waterville Campground in Waterville Valley, NH, offers a "camping near me" option with spacious campsites and a potentially peaceful riverside setting. Its location provides excellent access to hiking trails and the amenities of nearby Town Square, as well as a reasonable driving distance to other attractions in the region. Waterville Campground Reviews
It was a really nice campground. The sites are huge and we were by the river so we could hear it and it sounded so peaceful. Only issue was the bathrooms weren't attended the entire 3 days we were there. We never even saw the camp host the whole stay and there was several sites that had a large family reunion going on. There was about 10 little kids that literally screamed from 6:30am until midnight! Quiet time is 10 but it's obviously not enforced at all. The pros were that it was close to a lot of places we wanted to go like Portland, Freeport, Woodstock, hiking trails. And only 5 minutes from Town Square that has cafes, coffee shop, grocery store, etc.
Aug 19, 2024 · Shelley RochelleIt's a nice little campground. However, quite general and basic. No frills here. I expected a prettier setting. No complaints. Pretty low key. Quiet.
Jun 14, 2023 · JragonBeautiful campground. No showers. Basic toilets. Lots of trees. Spiders. So many spiders. daddy long legs. Everywhere. Once night fell, they covered the ground. We could not be outside at night. They covered the tent. They are friendly of course but there was just so many that it detracted from the experience. We saw a bear here. It was a few campsites over

May 16, 2021 · B KThis is a no frills Campground but perfect to explore the National forest with great walks straight from the ground. The host George was helpful and friendly. There are hand water pumps and basic toilets.
