Situated in a beautiful setting in upstate New York, this RV resort offers a range of features and access to local attractions that may appeal to various camping enthusiasts. You can reach them for inquiries or reservations at (518) 585-4462 or their mobile number, +1 518-585-4462.
Brookwood RV Resort has garnered attention in the 'camping near me' category, and feedback from past visitors provides valuable insights into what you can expect. Reviews indicate a property with undeniable natural beauty. One long-term seasonal camper, having stayed for over a decade, specifically mentioned the beautiful setting of the resort and the appeal of the seasonal sites.
The location of Brookwood RV Resort is a significant advantage for those looking to explore the region. Several reviewers highlighted its proximity to notable attractions such as hiking trails, the historic Ticonderoga Fort, and the renowned Lake Placid. This makes it an ideal basecamp for those interested in outdoor activities and exploring the rich history and scenic beauty of the area.
One positive review praised the owners for their helpfulness in getting them settled onto a "spotless and completely level" site. This suggests that some transient sites are well-maintained and prepared for incoming guests. The same reviewer also appreciated the information provided about local area attractions, indicating a willingness on the part of the owners to assist visitors in making the most of their stay.
Furthermore, this positive review specifically mentioned the well-maintained bathrooms with hot water and a large, very clean laundry building. These are important amenities that contribute to a comfortable and convenient camping experience, especially for longer stays or those requiring these facilities.
However, it is crucial to present a balanced perspective based on all available feedback. Another long-term seasonal camper shared a less positive experience, particularly regarding the current ownership compared to previous owners. This review mentioned a perception of decreased friendliness and helpfulness under the new management.
This same reviewer raised concerns about the layout of the transient sites, describing them as being "all on top of each other" and noting that the front area can resemble a "parking lot," especially during busy holiday weekends. This suggests that while the overall property is beautiful, the transient camping experience might feel crowded and less private compared to the seasonal sites.
A significant portion of the less positive feedback focused on the interactions with the owners. The reviewer alleged instances of rudeness and disrespect towards seasonal campers. More गंभीरly, they described an occasion where an owner reportedly "got in my husband's face and tried to antagonize him and start an argument." Such allegations, if accurate, would be a serious concern for potential visitors.
The review also detailed concerning incidents involving the movement of the seasonal camper during the winter without prior communication or consent. According to the reviewer, this resulted in damage to their shed and personal belongings. They further claimed that a section of their deck, which they asserted was not broken, was removed. The process of moving their belongings also allegedly led to the sewer connection being buried under rocks, requiring effort to uncover.
The reviewer stated that they felt unable to address these issues due to fear of immediate eviction, as they wished to remain at the resort to be near family. This ultimately led to their departure, as the location no longer provided a "peaceful getaway."
Considering these contrasting reviews, potential local users searching for 'camping near me' should be aware of both the positive aspects, such as the beautiful location and proximity to attractions, and the potential drawbacks related to site density for transient campers and reported issues with the current ownership's management style and communication.
To provide an objective introduction for local users in the 'camping near me' category, Brookwood RV Resort offers:
- A Beautiful Setting: Located in a scenic area of upstate New York.

- Clean Amenities: Including well-maintained bathrooms with hot water and a large, clean laundry building.
- Seasonal Camping Options: With potentially nicer and more spacious sites compared to transient areas.
However, potential visitors should also consider the following based on the provided feedback:
- Potentially Crowded Transient Sites: Described as being "all on top of each other" and the front area resembling a "parking lot" during peak times.
- Concerns Regarding Owner Interactions: Allegations of rudeness, disrespect, and poor communication from the current owners.
- Reported Issues with Property Management: Including unauthorized movement of campers and damage to personal belongings without proper communication or resolution.
As no specific promotional information was included in the provided text, local users are encouraged to contact Brookwood RV Resort directly at (518) 585-4462 or +1 518-585-4462 to inquire about current rates, availability, and any special offers. It would also be prudent to ask specific questions about the layout of transient sites and the resort's policies regarding communication with campers, especially concerning the handling of their property.
In conclusion, Brookwood RV Resort offers a visually appealing location with access to significant regional attractions, making it a potential option for those searching for 'camping near me' in the Ticonderoga area. However, it is essential for prospective campers to weigh the positive aspects against the reported negative experiences, particularly concerning the management and the density of transient sites, before making a decision. Brookwood RV Resort Reviews
My husband and I were seasonal campers here for over a decade, we started with the previous owners, who were much friendlier and more helpful than the current owners. The property is beautiful and the seasonal sites are nice. However, transient sites are all on top of each other. The front area looks like a parking lot, especially during the holiday weekends when it gets crowded. Although the property is beautiful, the owners have little to no respect for seasonal campers. They are often times rude and disrespectful and on several occasions the owner got in my husbands face and tried to antagonize him and start an argument. Additionally, he moved our camper on two different occasions (different winters) without asking us or having any type of transparent communication prior. The first time he moved our camper, he broke our shed as well as a bunch of other personal belongings that we had secured and covered for the winter. He also removed a section of our deck claiming it was broken. It was NOT broken, it was a solid deck and our daughter’s inspected it over in the deck graveyard. In the process of moving all our stuff, he also burried the sewer connection under rocks and my husband and daughter had to dig it out so we could connect our sewer hose. It was a very frustrating experience and we could not address it because if we would have tried, we would have been evicted immediately and we wanted to stay since we had other family there. Eventually, we did wind up leaving because it was no longer our peaceful getaway location.
Nov 21, 2024 · Mandy MatolaSuch a great place to stay! A beautiful setting!! Owners went out of their way to help get us settled on our site which was spotless and completely level along with providing us with information on the area attractions. Great location near Hiking trails, Ticonderoga Fort and Lake placid. The bathrooms were beautifully maintained with hot water! The laundry building was large and very clean. The owners pay attention to detail here. Would highly recommend Brookwood RV Resort. Thanks for making our stay so nice!!!!

Aug 07, 2024 · janice carabineGreat campground! Pool was nice, bath houses very clean. It's a quiet, peaceful campground. The owners take great care of it and it shows. We were in site S3 and it was spacious and the owner escorted us to the site and assisted us with parking the camper which was a nice, friendly way to start our week. Will definitely book again!
Jul 19, 2024 · Aundrea YoungBrookwood RV Resort is a family owned and operated facility. The grounds are impeccable and the seasonal campers are incredibly friendly. Mark and Buffie were very helpful during our stay from helping me book a tent site to answering my questions during our stay. The country store on the property has everything under the sun, from everyday essentials to local craft beers and keepsakes. The grounds are conveniently located next to Roger's Rock and about 30min to hour to town and Lake George Village.Prior to our stay I read the reviews and my time at Brookwood exceeded my expectations. It's a beautiful campground and the owners and staff were very kind and accommodating.
