When searching for "camping near me" in the Adirondack region, Paradox Pond Campground emerges as a great spot, particularly noted for its access to Paradox Lake (referred to as Paradox Pond by some). The campground's location on the lake provides opportunities for various water-based activities, as highlighted by a visitor who enjoyed their time on the water. Whether you're interested in a peaceful paddle, casting a line for some fishing, or simply enjoying the tranquil views, the lake serves as a central feature of the campground experience.
For those seeking a romantic retreat, Paradox Pond Campground appears to be an ideal destination. One reviewer specifically mentioned it as a "great spot for a romantic getaway," emphasizing the peaceful ambiance and the enjoyable experience on the lake. The serene environment, coupled with the natural beauty of the Adirondacks, creates a perfect setting for couples looking to reconnect and unwind away from the everyday hustle.
The campsites at Paradox Pond Campground are described as "peaceful" and "large," offering campers a sense of privacy and space. One visitor noted that their site was "close but not too close to the bathrooms," striking a balance between convenience and seclusion. This thoughtful layout contributes to a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience, ensuring that essential facilities are easily accessible without compromising the tranquility of your campsite.
Each campsite at Paradox Pond Campground comes equipped with essential amenities for outdoor cooking and relaxation. The presence of a fire pit allows for cozy evenings around a crackling fire, perfect for sharing stories or toasting marshmallows. Additionally, a grill is provided at each site, offering a convenient way to cook meals over an open flame, enhancing the traditional camping experience.
Comfort during tent camping is often a priority, and Paradox Pond Campground seems to cater to this. One reviewer specifically mentioned that their site was "nice and flat," making pitching a tent and sleeping arrangements more comfortable. This attention to the terrain of the campsites contributes to a more enjoyable stay for those opting for tent camping.
Paradox Pond Campground is also a pet-friendly destination, which is a significant advantage for local users who enjoy bringing their furry companions along on their outdoor adventures. One visitor appreciated the generous parking space at their campsite and in the launch parking lot, making it hassle-free to manage their boat and trailer. This practical consideration adds to the overall convenience of the campground, especially for those bringing watercraft.
Despite the overwhelmingly positive experiences, one visitor expressed a desire for a longer camping season, indicating that they would love to camp at Paradox Pond Campground in the fall. This suggests that the campground's current operating season might be limited, and local users planning shoulder-season trips should inquire about availability.
While unpredictable weather can sometimes impact any outdoor experience, as mentioned by a visitor affected by storms, the overall consensus is that Paradox Pond Campground is a "fantastic campground" with "large sites" and a "beautiful pond" ideal for fishing and boating. This resilience in the face of weather challenges speaks to the quality of the campground and its natural appeal.

Paradox Pond Campground Reviews
I do a lot of icefishing up in the Adirondacks so it was very nice to go up and camp during the summer! Paradox Lake Campground was a great spot for a romantic getaway with my girlfriend. We enjoyed our time on the lake, as well as our peaceful campsite, which was close but not too close to the bathrooms. Site was equipped with a fire pit and grill to cook over the fire if you want to. Our site was also nice and flat which made tent camping very comfortable. We brought our dog up and it was nice for her as well. We fell asleep to the sound of Loon calls and were able to see them out on the lake. We used the on- site boat launch which was very convenient, although the dock seemed to be a bit underwater. Not sure if the water rises or falls at all though, but I'd prepare to take your shoes off if launching a vessel of any size. There was ample parking for my boat and trailer both at our campsite and the launch parking lot which was very nice. Only complaint is that their season isn't longer! Would love to camp up there in the fall!
Aug 19, 2024 · Zack HintzUnfortunately we were affected by storms this weekend, but unpredictable mother nature aside, this is a fantastic campground with large sites and a beautiful pond to fish and boat in! 10 minutes from Schroon Lake gives you the opportunity to swim at the beach and visit some cute local shops, as well!
Jul 16, 2023 · NicoleWe stayed 6/21 to 6/22 the weather but our camping trip short (that was our fault we didn't pay attention to the weather haha) side from that my family and I stayed on site 17. Was a very nice camp site, right near the bathrooms and recycling station. The lake was pretty, clean water too!The staff are new people and they're very nice!!!! Very helpful and welcoming. We definitely plan to go back this time we'll watch the forecast before we go up.
Jun 23, 2024 · Theresa BarberThis campsite was absolutely wonderful. By some miracle, I was able to secure a last minute spot through a cancelation for a night to visit some friends and family that were camping there. They were so polite and friendly and the entire campsite was very clean and well maintained. One night was definitely not long enough to enjoy everything Paradox had to offer. They are extremely dog friendly as long as you have proof of vaccinations; which is the best part because it would not have been the same without our fur babies. They have boat access/launch sites, swimming and kayak and boat rentals available for a very reasonable price and per day, not by the hour. They have beautiful picnic sites by the water and lots of bathroom sites which have electricity and running water and showers!! They also have available water spigots for use at any time throughout the entire grounds. The main camp maintenance supervisor, Micheal, was absolutely phenomenal. He checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and asked if we had any suggestions to offer to make our camping experience even better. I would highly suggest trying this place out for a great fun relaxing time and extremely wonderful people. We will be coming back!
