Water, sewer & electric are on the wrong side of the campers and water is right in front of where your camper steps come out. The campsite was big and very quiet. Nice people and dog friendly, plenty of places to walk inside campground. Borders a National Wildlife Refuge. You can kayak right from the campground but the creek entrance is shallow so we walked our kayaks through to the beautiful pond. We would stay there again. Only issue was that the hookups are wrong for campers to hook up to. Very good water pressure. Close to beaches. The permanent abandoned site next to us was an eyesore and they have a few abandoned campers here and there.Sewer hook ups are about a foot off the ground making dumping a hassle. There were bees under the gazebo flooring wood. They need to clean up the campsites a little more. Permanents run down.Upside the pool is beautiful. - Valerie

Brumbley's Family Park Campground Introduce

For local users in Delaware and surrounding areas searching for "camping near me," Brumbley's Family Park Campground, situated at 25601 Amys Ln, Milton, DE 19968, USA, presents a mixed bag of experiences based on recent customer reviews. While the campground boasts a large and quiet environment, dog-friendly policies, and proximity to a National Wildlife Refuge and beaches, several significant drawbacks regarding infrastructure, maintenance, and amenities have been highlighted. Potential visitors can contact the campground at (302) 684-5189 or +1 302-684-5189 for more information. This introduction aims to provide a detailed and objective overview based on the available feedback to help local campers make an informed decision.

The environment surrounding Brumbley's Family Park Campground offers some appealing natural features. The campground borders a National Wildlife Refuge, suggesting potential opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature walks directly from the campsite. One reviewer noted the ability to kayak right from the campground, with access to a "beautiful pond" via a shallow creek entrance that might require walking the kayaks in. The campground is also reported to be "close to beaches," indicating a convenient location for those wishing to combine camping with coastal activities. The presence of "plenty of places to walk inside campground" is a plus for pet owners and those who enjoy leisurely strolls. However, the environment within the campground itself seems to have some issues. Several reviewers mentioned "permanent abandoned sites" and "a few abandoned campers here and there" which detract from the aesthetic appeal. Additionally, one review noted "duck/geese poop and mosquitoes" down by the pond, which could be a concern for some visitors.

The services and amenities at Brumbley's Family Park Campground appear to be basic and potentially problematic. A significant issue raised by multiple reviewers concerns the placement of utility hookups at the campsites. Water, sewer, and electric hookups are reportedly on the "wrong side" of the campers, and the water connection is situated directly in front of where camper steps come out, creating inconvenience. Sewer hookups are also described as being "about a foot off the ground," making dumping a "hassle." While "very good water pressure" was noted as a positive, the overall utility setup seems poorly designed. Basic amenities such as fire pits and picnic tables are reportedly absent ("No fire pits or picnic tables"). One positive mentioned is a "beautiful" pool, but its cleanliness is questioned by a reviewer who stated it's "always dirty like it needs vacuumed out." There is no mention of restroom or shower facilities in the provided reviews, suggesting they might be either very basic, poorly maintained, or non-existent. The lack of a dog park or community space further limits the amenities available for social interaction and pet recreation. Internet service also appears to be an issue, with one reviewer specifically mentioning incompatibility with Starlink, despite assurances to the contrary, leading to unreliable connectivity.

The features of Brumbley's Family Park Campground are a mix of potential positives and significant negatives. On the positive side, the campsites are described as "big" and the overall atmosphere as "very quiet," which could appeal to those seeking space and tranquility. The campground is also noted as "dog friendly," which is a significant draw for pet owners looking for "camping near me." The proximity to the National Wildlife Refuge and the opportunity for kayaking are unique features that could attract nature enthusiasts. However, the numerous negative features raise serious concerns. The "permanent abandoned site next to us" and other abandoned campers create an "eyesore" and suggest a lack of upkeep. The presence of bees under the gazebo flooring wood is a potential safety hazard. The need to "clean up the campsites a little more" indicates maintenance issues. The overall impression from one reviewer is that the park looks "extremely run down and old" due to the owners being "too old to keep up with the necessary maintenance" with only one person for yard work and maintenance during peak season. The small and difficult-to-find sign along a major highway is also a notable inconvenience. The high monthly rate of $950 (as mentioned by one long-term stayer who left after a month due to internet issues) is deemed unreasonable given the condition and lack of amenities compared to other RV parks in the region.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Brumbley's Family Park Campground in the provided reviews. The negative feedback regarding the high monthly rate and the comparison to better-equipped and maintained RV parks at similar prices suggests that potential campers might find the cost to be a significant factor, especially considering the reported issues. Local users searching for "camping near me" should inquire directly about daily or weekly rates and any potential discounts. It would also be prudent to ask about the current condition of the pool, the utility hookups at specific campsites, and the efforts being made to address the maintenance and aesthetic concerns raised in the reviews. Given the strong negative sentiment expressed by some former campers, it would be wise to seek the most up-to-date information directly from the campground before making a reservation.

In conclusion, Brumbley's Family Park Campground near Milton, DE, offers a potentially quiet and spacious environment with the added benefits of being dog-friendly and close to natural attractions like a National Wildlife Refuge and beaches. However, local users searching for "camping near me" must be aware of the significant drawbacks highlighted in recent reviews. These include poorly designed utility hookups, the presence of abandoned sites and campers, maintenance issues, a potentially unclean pool, the absence of basic amenities like fire pits and picnic tables, and unreliable internet service. The high monthly rate mentioned by one reviewer further raises concerns about value for money. While the owners are described as nice, their capacity to maintain the campground adequately appears to be limited. Potential visitors should carefully weigh these factors and consider contacting the campground directly at (302) 684-5189 or +1 302-684-5189 to get the most current information and assess whether the potential positives outweigh the reported negatives for their specific camping needs. Exploring alternative "camping near me" options in the Milton, DE area might also be advisable given the concerns raised.
