Deep Branch Family Campground aims to cater to families seeking a camping experience in Delaware. Based on available online reviews, the campground seems to offer a mixed experience, and it's crucial for local users to consider various perspectives when making their decision. One reviewer described it as a "Great family campground! Beautiful well put together," highlighting positive aspects such as its aesthetic appeal and organization. This positive feedback also mentioned "Lots to do and the staff makes your weekend perfect!" and an enjoyable "movie in the pool," suggesting some level of planned activities and a dedicated staff. The reviewer also praised the "Beautiful scenery" and positioned it as a "great place to get away for the weekend!"
However, it's important to acknowledge contrasting experiences shared by other campers. One review expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating, "It says family campground but there is nothing to do around / activities conducted by them." This directly contradicts the previous positive comment regarding activities. Furthermore, this negative review raised concerns about a "FOUL smell that comes when you sit outside or walk within camp site" and reported "Issues with lot of mosquitoes." The reviewer also noted the lack of evening activities, which they attributed to the insect problem, stating, "I was surprised that I didn't see any activity at night but than made sense why would someone sit outside and get bug bites." The experience culminated in multiple bug bites for the camping party over two nights, leading to a strong recommendation against staying at the campground, even for a free visit.
Considering these differing opinions, local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh the potential benefits against the reported drawbacks. The positive review suggests a well-maintained environment and engaging activities like a movie in the pool, which could be attractive to families with children. The mention of "Beautiful scenery" also hints at a pleasant natural setting, potentially offering a relaxing escape from the daily routine.
On the other hand, the negative feedback raises significant concerns that potential visitors must consider. Issues such as foul smells and a heavy mosquito presence could severely impact the enjoyment of any outdoor experience. The lack of perceived activities, despite being advertised as a family campground, could also be a major disappointment for those seeking organized entertainment during their stay. The severity of the bug bite issue, as described, is a serious concern for comfort and health.
For local users exploring "camping near me" options, it would be prudent to gather more recent information and potentially seek feedback from other campers who have visited Deep Branch Family Campground recently. Campground conditions and management can change over time, and more up-to-date reviews might provide a clearer picture of the current state of the facility. It may also be beneficial to directly contact the campground management at the provided phone numbers to inquire about their current services, activities, and any measures they have in place to address issues like insect control and odors, if those were indeed problems in the past.

Milton, Delaware, is located in Sussex County and offers proximity to the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean beaches. Deep Branch Family Campground Reviews
Great family campground! Beautiful well put together. Lots to do and the staff makes your weekend perfect! They had a movie in the pool.. amazing. Beautiful scenery great place to get away for the weekend!
Jun 02, 2024 · William MooreIt says family campground but there is nothing to do around / activities conducted by them. There is a FOUL smell that comes when you sit outside or walk within camp site. Issues with lot of mosquitoes. I was surprised that I didn't see any activity at night but than made sense why would someone sit outside and get bug bites. After camping we all had bug bites for few days. We were there for TWO nights, I would never recommend ANYONE to be there even if they get a free stay....
Jul 19, 2024 · Saurin PatelThe cabin was very nice. The next morning the smell of rotten sewer was extremely bad! I have a very strong stomach but I couldn't take it and had to leave. The owner claimed there was a chicken house close by. Sorry but that did not smell like any chicken house or slaughtering plant. I believe they may have a crack in there holding tank. It is totally disgusting! Owners are very sweet people and could have a profitable business if the smell would go away.
Jul 10, 2021 · Patti JohnsonGreat place to camp. This campground is very clean. The staff and campers are friendly. This is not a party atmosphere! Very family friendly. There is a nice kids playground and occasional activities for all. Not far from the beaches. And reasonably priced. We always enjoy our time at Deep Branch!
Aug 26, 2021 · Andy KuttNice family friendly campground. Friendly neighbors in permanent spot next to us were great. Rates are perfect. Only reasons I would not give a 5 are the flies are horrible and unfortunately, there is a chicken slaughtering company next door and the smell is pretty rough. Really a perfect beach campground other than that.
