Big Oaks Campground Introduce
Welcome to Big Oaks Campground, located at 35567 Big Oaks Ln, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, USA. If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Rehoboth Beach area, Big Oaks Campground offers a range of accommodation options, including RV sites and cabin rentals. Based on recent customer reviews, the campground has aspects that are highly appreciated, such as its convenient location for accessing local attractions and its support for travel campers, as well as clean and spacious cabins and bathhouses. However, some areas, particularly grounds keeping and laundry facilities, have received feedback suggesting room for improvement.
The environment of Big Oaks Campground benefits from its proximity to Rehoboth Beach, a popular coastal destination in Delaware. One reviewer noted that "local places were easy to access and didn’t take much time," indicating the convenience of the location relative to the attractions of Rehoboth Beach. Another significant environmental feature mentioned is the "bus service from the campground to the beach," highlighting easy access to the shoreline for swimming, sunbathing, and other beach activities. While the reviews do not extensively describe the natural setting within the campground itself, the name "Big Oaks" suggests the presence of mature oak trees, potentially providing shade and a pleasant, natural ambiance. The overall environment combines the appeal of a traditional campground with the added benefit of being near a vibrant beach town.
The services at Big Oaks Campground include accommodation for travel trailers with what one reviewer described as "all the comforts of being home" available within their own RV. The campground also offers cabin rentals, which another reviewer found to be "very clean and spacious." For tent campers or those in cabins, the availability of "bath houses" that are reported as "very nice and clean" is a significant service. A particularly convenient service mentioned is the "bus service from the campground to the beach," which simplifies transportation to and from the popular beach area. However, one reviewer pointed out issues with the laundry room, including waiting for others to finish their laundry and the inefficiency and cost of the small washer/dryer units. This suggests that while some services are well-regarded, others may need attention. It's worth noting that one reviewer did not use other on-site services, so the full range of services (e.g., Wi-Fi, recreational facilities) is not entirely clear from these reviews.
Several features of Big Oaks Campground stand out. The availability of both RV sites and cabin rentals caters to different camping preferences. The convenient bus service to Rehoboth Beach is a significant feature for those wanting easy beach access without the hassle of parking. The clean and spacious cabins, as well as the nice and clean bathhouses, contribute positively to the overall experience for those not in RVs. The location's ease of access to local attractions is another key feature. However, potential drawbacks mentioned include the need for improvement in grounds keeping (trash disposal, general upkeep) and the laundry facilities (etiquette of users, efficiency and condition of machines). Despite these points of concern, the campground's support for travel campers and its favorable location are notable features that appeal to many visitors.

Therefore, potential campers should weigh these aspects based on their priorities. If easy beach access and comfortable cabins are high on your list, Big Oaks Campground is worth considering. For RV travelers, the support for travel campers is a plus.
The contrasting experiences shared in the reviews highlight the importance of considering different types of accommodations and services offered at Big Oaks Campground. Those staying in cabins seem to have had a more consistently positive experience regarding cleanliness compared to the reviewer who stayed in an RV site. The convenience of the location and the beach bus service are recurring positives. For local users, the ease of getting to nearby attractions could be a major draw. It would be beneficial to inquire about the specific conditions of the RV sites and the laundry facilities when booking, to ensure they meet your expectations.
In conclusion, Big Oaks Campground near Rehoboth Beach, DE, offers a locally accessible camping option with RV sites and cabin rentals, along with convenient beach access via a bus service. Big Oaks Campground Reviews
We took our travel trailer for a week, and had all the comforts of being home. When we arrived we noticed the site had trash left behind from the previous campers. Also, at the designated area for trash drop offs, it was very full. Overall, the grounds keeping could improve and be updated. Our biggest concern was the laundry room, the fact that fellow campers have no etiquette saddens us. We had to wait for other campers to retrieve their completed wash, so we could use them. The small W/D should be updated. (For small loads it took two times to get our lightweight items dry. $2.50ea/$5.00.) Again housekeeping lacked in this area.We did not use any other services on site. We liked that local places we’re easy to access and didn’t take much time. They do have a nice location and glad it supports travel campers. We would try Big Oaks again keeping everything in mind.
Jul 21, 2024 · Rosemary BenferThis is my 3rd time camping at Big Oaks. I would recommend this campground to anyone. I stayed in one of the cabins each time. They were very clean and spacious. I had family members stay in a tent on a campsite. The bath houses are also very nice and clean. Also the bus service from the campground to the beach is very convenient. I will definitely stay there again.
Aug 13, 2024 · Leanette WilliamsOur stay at big oaks was okay. Cabins were not cleaned and the first night we were there my husband and I were sitting out on the porch talking, not being loud, talking in a normal voice and someone from the camp ground came and told us to be quiet. Mind you there was no one around us and we weren’t be loud. We had a baby sleeping inside so we wouldn’t take the chance of waking her up. Then everything was good until the end of the week when we went to pull our sheets off the bed and found two bed bugs. I was appalled and disgusted. Everyone knows once you find one there’s more. When we went to check out I told the ladies in the office and they didn’t seem the least bit concerned. This pissed me off even more. I know bed bugs can be anywhere but they acted like they didn’t care even though if we have them it’ll be my problem when i get home. I will NEVER be back to big oaks
Jul 26, 2024 · Emily ThomasThis campground was horrible. We arrived and we checked in. We had provided a ride for two who were not camping with us. Their ride had shown up even before we arrived. The check in person demanded I pay for two guests. I informed the person they were not staying and that their ride was waiting for them. I was forced to pay a fee for two extra people so I could get checked in. A few minutes later I was told that the driver of the two who ride with us had to pay a fee to pick them up. Needless to say the staff was very rude and informed the driver and the two who rode with us to never come back.Well we will never come back. I don’t recommend this campground again. We were not allowed guests without paying the extra fees no matter if they used their facilities or not.
Jul 29, 2024 · Nancy GeislerThe campsites were so cute and everyone we talked to was so nice. The staff were incredibly welcoming and definitely helped the atmosphere a ton. We went to the pool, the playground, and even the little shops and everything was amazing! We had a great and safe weekend (as 3 younger females) and would definitely recommend!
