One recurring theme in the reviews is the campground's prime location near Delaware beaches. For those prioritizing proximity to the ocean, Delaware Seashore State Park South Campground appears to be a favored choice. One camper explicitly states, "This is our go to Delaware Beach. We always stay at the campground," highlighting its appeal as a regular destination for beachgoers who also enjoy camping.
Regarding the camping experience itself, one reviewer provides a practical perspective, suggesting that if you "have the expectation of a parking lot with sewer, water, and electric," you will likely be satisfied. Another reviewer offers a more broadly positive perspective, describing the campground as "beautiful" and "very well kept." This speaks to the overall maintenance and aesthetic appeal of the grounds, suggesting a pleasant and clean environment for campers. Furthermore, they highlight the "easily accessible to beach by walking" feature, which is a significant advantage for those who want to spend their time enjoying the sand and surf without the hassle of driving and parking. The presence of a "cool restaurant" within easy reach adds another layer of convenience and enjoyment to the camping experience.
Beyond beach access, this reviewer also mentions the opportunity to "ride bikes here too!" This implies that the area around the campground is conducive to cycling, offering another recreational activity for visitors to enjoy. Whether you prefer a leisurely ride along the coast or exploring nearby trails, the option to bike enhances the overall appeal of Delaware Seashore State Park South Campground.

Delaware Seashore State Park South Campground Reviews
This is our go to Delaware Beach. We always stay at the campground. Have the expectation of a parking lot with sewer, water, and electric and then you will never be disappointed. We actually prefer to come here during off-season when it’s not as busy. My boys have had negative experiences at the playground during peak summer season, including children peeing on the slides, comments about others weights, and races. They aren’t into all of that, so they prefer Delaware Seashore when it’s not so busy.
Apr 18, 2025 · Mrs. FBeautiful campground that is very well kept. Easily accessible to beach by walking with a cool restaurant. You can also ride bikes here too!
Feb 04, 2025 · HannahCampground would be ideal for people who love to fish, or hang on the beach. There aren't many trees or amenities. But the sites are level and pull through. The Campground is clean and so are the many bathrooms. The ability to walk right out to the beach, restaurant, and fishing area is ideal. And this might be the quietest Campground we have ever stayed at. The most common offender of loud noises is the many seagulls.
Sep 05, 2024 · erin habichtI have been coming here for 5 years. The past 2 years we have seen the camp ground go down hill. With the surfers leaving left over fires and garbage to outdoor showers not working. This year we arrived to construction. I understood that everything must repaired and I appreciate it but the contractor used the parking lot right beside the camp sites. They are at work from 6 am to 7:30 pm. The noise and dust does not allow us to enjoy the beautiful weather. We were told before we arrived and when we arrived that we would still have beach access. If you wanted to get run over by a truck you could not be on the beach. By Wednesday they closed the beach. If I had known what I see I would have cancelled. We should have been given a discount or an opportunity to move to another location. I have called and was sent to 3 locations but was given a run around. And no call back. We pay to support this beautiful place to keep it open. We should be given the satisfaction not the construction company. I want to come back and have it the way it was.
Sep 11, 2024 · Jeffrey CasaleWe really enjoyed our stay! This was our second trip and we're already booked for next year. We were lucky enough to have friends get a spot next to us this year and next year too. The Big Chill has a great vibe. The live music is tolerable for my husband who has tinnitus due to the open walls around the restaurant. We do prefer sitting on the opposite side. You still hear the music and have a beautiful view. The ocean is on one side and the bridge and sunset are on the other side. There's a few shower/restroom buildings and it would be nice if everyone tried to not leave messes behind, but some people treat it like, "Someone else is going to clean up after me..." But, other than that it's great. This is really a beautiful spot and we love it.
