Based on available information, the environment surrounding CHSP Campground appears to be closely linked with the adjacent state park, offering opportunities for "good walks into the State park." One reviewer mentioned seeing deer roaming at sunset, suggesting the presence of local wildlife and a potentially scenic natural setting. Being near the beginning of the America Discovery Trail also indicates access to extended hiking possibilities. While specific details about the campground's immediate internal environment (such as the layout of campsites, the presence of specific types of trees or water features within the campground itself) are not explicitly detailed, the connection to the state park implies a natural and outdoor-focused atmosphere. For local users, this proximity to nature and trails can be a significant draw, offering a chance to immerse themselves in the outdoors without traveling far.
Regarding services, information gleaned from a customer review provides some insights. The review mentions shower and toilet facilities, which are essential amenities for any campground. However, it also notes the absence of Wi-Fi and a common room where appliances could be charged. This suggests that while basic hygiene facilities are available, some modern conveniences might be limited. The review also mentions a price of $32, although this was the experience of one user and current pricing may vary. It's important to note that one review mentioned a water problem that lasted for three days during their stay, indicating that occasional maintenance issues can occur at any campground. For local users considering a stay, it would be wise to inquire about the current status of amenities when making a reservation.
In terms of features, the most prominent feature highlighted by the reviews is the campground's location near the beginning of the America Discovery Trail and its accessibility to the state park, offering "good walks." The observation of deer roaming at sunset can also be considered a notable feature, appealing to nature lovers and those who enjoy wildlife viewing. The availability of shower and toilet facilities, while basic, is a necessary feature for a comfortable camping experience. The lack of Wi-Fi and a common charging area, as mentioned in a review, could be seen as a characteristic of the campground – perhaps geared towards a more unplugged and nature-focused experience. For local campers interested in hiking and exploring the state park, CHSP Campground’s location is a significant advantage.

CHSP Campground Reviews
Pretty good camping, only downside is they had a water problem during our stay and it lasted 3 days.

Mar 20, 2024 · Aimer From OrkneyThe site that we reserved was T4 and the map doesn’t reflect the actual place of the site (map is incorrect). We arrived on April 5, 2024 after business hours and it was already dark, so we did our best to figure out the site, even though we ended up placing the tent on the trail by mistake. We only realized that until in the morning. After looking around, T4 has little space and our tent could barely fit there. We had reserved two days that weekend and there weren’t that many people around. So, we talked to the front desk to see if we could transfer to another site for our second night and even though the front desk lady tried, the system didn’t let her. After this uncomfortable situation, we almost decided to leave but rather we had no other option then to reserve another site for another night which was an extra $70, so we could still enjoy our last day of spring break. The other site was T18 and it was amazing. We had a good time and plenty of space. But too bad I had to waste money that I can’t afford. The description of the sites should be more clear, including specific measurements. I’m sure this type of misunderstanding has happened in the past for T4. Additionally, the policies should be more accommodating for situations like this one. We didn’t intend to transfer but given the little space we had for our tent, we just didn’t have an option. I run a similar business of own too, and yes, customers do take advantage of things such as transfers between sites, but I still try to accommodate for my clients given their circumstances. Please, fix your maps and give more info about the size of the space, especially for the T sites. Everyone would greatly appreciate it.As for the policy about transfers, you should be more accommodating, especially with reservations for smaller sites.Thank you.

Nov 22, 2023 · Yuncong MaBring your own bicycle or borrow one at no charge for a couple of hours from The Bike Barn next to the parks nature center. The campground is connected to an easy, paved 3 mile “Bike Loop”, a 2.5 mile paved multi use rail trail to Lewes Main Street and the Gordon Pond Trail 7 mile crushed gravel multi-use trail to Rehoboth Beach boardwalk.
