Great spot, great location. The owners are fantastic people. It's really nice and really remote and really secluded. And very quiet and relaxing and within driving distance to many awesome places.
Apr 10, 2025 · JOSH MOODY ADVENTURES IN LIVINGI've been fortunate to visit nearly every National Park in the continental USA, along with hundreds of State Parks and countless campgrounds. From this perspective, Camp Chet stands out as one of my favorite experiences. If you enjoy mountainous hiking with natural springs, creeks featuring waterfalls, well-marked trails, and off-trail options, it's a must-visit. The host is incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and dedicated, consistently improving the trails and overall upkeep. At Camp Chet, Mother Nature's presence is truly remarkable.
Mar 22, 2024 · Tommy JacksonFabulous place to get away and enjoy what these folks have opened up to share. RV sites are like no other with lots of space and privacy. The trails are great and we had fun not only looking at what nature has provided but also the wood carvings and markers spread throughout. We considered ourselves very lucky to find Camp Chet and highly recommend these folks for a getaway or group/family get together location. They are centrally located to hit a lot of state park locations surrounding the area but hidden away for the most peaceful part of the eastern US. For us, we will be making this a regular place for us to get away.
Sep 04, 2023 · D TeamMy only regret is that I didn't have time to stay longer. Robert is a great guy, very friendly, helpful, and gracious host. The camp is a great place to relax and enjoy nature at it's finest. The sites are spacious and all looked to be very close to, if not level. If I had to pick on one thing, it would be the mountain road leading up to the camp. Be careful on the steep grades and hairpin turns.
Mar 25, 2024 · CharlesAbsolutely the BEST primitive campground! My family and I regularly come to Camp Chet for several reasons: the scenery, accommodations and not to mention we love the hosts! Ruth and Robert make every effort to make sure your stay is a comfortable and adventurous, experience! The trails are so clearly, well marked out and they even have a detailed map available on the website. My boys love climbing the rocks and discovering all the neat caves and nooks. There is a storage area near the primitive cabins that has everything you could think of and we often leave supplies for the next crew. We love Camp Chet!
