So much fun! We did the archery range and hatchet throwing the night we got there. You need to have someone trained as a "range master" by the office staff before getting the items and using the targets. The ropes course can only be used if you have someone trained at Zions or Ensign Ranch before hand. They have a waterslide for the summer months usage. There is a human foosball area set up for use next to that. There is a Zipline that goes across the creek to the little island nearby those. The island has a bridge to get to or a rope bridge to attempt. We participated in an orientation compass course that didn't have a good starting point, but we used the stump by the Manager's trailer near the front. They also have plastic tubes that you can push people around in the field, 2 baseball backstops, log teeter totters, teatherball, horse shoes, volleyball, bucket swings, tire swing, and trails. There are flushable bathrooms with showers in the center of camp and lots of porta potties around.Only 2 cars per camp site and the other cars can be parked in parking areas. Many have undercovered picnic tables and great camping sites. No pets allowed on property. We enjoyed our trip! - Deanna Millett

The sites are described as "more private than I would have thought," which is a significant plus for those seeking a degree of seclusion while camping. However, one camper mentioned that it can be "pretty noisy with trains," which is something to consider if you are particularly sensitive to noise. Despite this, the natural surroundings seem to be a positive aspect of the campground.

In terms of services, Camp Nisqually offers both basic and more unique amenities. For restroom needs, they have "flushable bathrooms with showers in the center of camp and lots of porta potties around," providing options for different preferences and locations within the campground. Each campsite is limited to "only 2 cars," with additional parking available in designated areas. Many campsites feature "undercovered picnic tables," offering a convenient and sheltered space for meals and gatherings. The features of Camp Nisqually are where it truly shines, offering a diverse range of activities for various interests. For the adventurous, there is an "archery range and hatchet throwing" area, though using these requires someone trained as a "range master" by the office staff. A "ropes course" is available, but it can only be used if you have someone previously trained at Zions or Ensign Ranch. During the summer months, a "waterslide" is a major attraction. Adjacent to the waterslide is a "human foosball area." For those interested in learning new skills, they have offered an "orientation compass course." However, one reviewer noted that the starting point wasn't well-defined. There are also "plastic tubes that you can push people around in the field," adding a unique element of fun.

It's important to note some of the feedback regarding potential drawbacks. One reviewer mentioned that the "portapotties are plentiful, but hadn't been emptied in 5 days from our visit so the smell was pretty bad," suggesting that the maintenance of these facilities could be inconsistent. They also noted that a second "playground" was just a "tiny toddler thing" and not a proper playground. Additionally, one camper was disappointed to find out that "there is no fishing on Sundays," a detail they wished had been communicated beforehand.

A significant piece of information to consider is an "EDIT" in one of the reviews where the user apologizes for "reviewing the wrong place," as Google Maps might have mislocated them. They indicated an intention to move or delete their review. This suggests that at least one of the reviews provided might not accurately reflect Camp Nisqually. Therefore, while the activities and amenities described sound appealing, it would be prudent to seek out additional reviews or information to confirm their accuracy for Camp Nisqually at the listed address.

Despite the potential for one review being misplaced, the overall impression from the other feedback is that Camp Nisqually offers a wide variety of engaging activities and generally clean and spacious campsites in a beautiful, tree-covered area. The presence of plenty of trash cans and water spigots also contributes to a more comfortable camping experience.

Given the exciting range of activities mentioned, Camp Nisqually could be particularly attractive to families with children and those looking for an active camping getaway. The archery, hatchet throwing, ropes course, zipline, and waterslide offer unique opportunities for fun and adventure that go beyond the typical camping experience. The more traditional recreational options ensure there's something for everyone to enjoy.

They can provide details on pricing, availability, and any current promotions. With features like a waterslide, zipline, archery, hatchet throwing, and a ropes course, alongside more traditional camping amenities, it offers a diverse range of activities for those searching for "camping near me" with added adventure.
