Catskill Mountains/ Gilboa KOA Holiday Reviews
We just left after a last minute 4 night stay and we already can’t wait to go back. The scenery is beautiful, the staff is beyond friendly and super helpful, and all of the activities were on schedule and exceeded expectations. The campground was exceptionally clean and well kept. We have a 2 month old and 1 year old who are quite noisy and we asked if we could be moved to a site further from neighbors and the staff accommodated us to the most perfect site without any hesitation or issues. We will be returning next year around the same time to enjoy the gorgeous fall foliage in the area and Halloween activities!!
Oct 07, 2024 · Brianna O’LearyThe people here are wonderful. It was so wonderful. We have gone twice and plan to go again. On our first trip here we missed our leaving window from home. Not wanting to arrive in the dark, we skipped the first night of our two-night trip.On our second trip, I fell and twisted my ankle. So we left on day two of our three-day trip.On both trips, the crew here were wonderful to us.They came and picked up my wife to get us dinner from the food cart up the hill. They were so friendly. The last trip was in the fall and our site faced the mountain across the river. Very beautiful. They have many KOA-type activities for the family and you can ride a float down the river across the park.I would recommend this campsite to anyone that wants to get away in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful country. This is a great place to get away.
Oct 16, 2024 · Jeff CorvettiAbsolutely beautiful area. Very remote. Nice nature trails, playground etc. But unlike most KOAs that have groomed gravel pads and even patios, our site 259 was on the edges of a grassy field, but the area all around the RV parking was just dirt so very MESSY. We were tracking in mud just from the dew. KOA should require gravel be added before they are marketed as KOA sites. It really made our stay unenjoyable. In the morning they were using a riding mower to gather leaves and it was a dust bowl. Other areas besides ours may have been fine. The sewer hookup on #259 was too far away to hook into but the public drain was good. The area we stayed in was side by side sites very close together with nothing in-between.
Sep 25, 2024 · Lori McEwenWe’ve been seasonal campers for going on 4 years now. What brought us to Nickerson now Catskill Mountains Gilboa was the creek, large sites and wide open fields to play games in but what keeps us coming back is the friends we’ve made there! Things have changed over the years but we have liked the changes and are excited to see the improvements each year! We can’t wait to get back to our spot and share meals with our friends that have become like family! I look forward to setting up my site and relaxing nights by the fire! I added the fishing picture because it’s probably the biggest fish I’ve ever caught! The second photo is from the haunted trail which I had the pleasure of helping set it up and be a part of, this was an absolute blast!
Jun 11, 2024 · Amy LukePros:Spacious, very well kept grounds, clean. The Camp store offers a variety of items for purchase. Daily activities for kids and adults. Ie" Ceramics, bingo...just to name a few..my kids participated in the finding a decorative rock game and enjoyed it! It was fun for me also. Lol, beautiful playground.Cons:Within the "things to do booklet," it does state Kayak Rental....I found that information to be inaccurate. When planning to rent a Kayak management did inform us They did not keep Kayak's on the grounds, and we would have to go way up the street to complete a whole booket from the DEC and so on, But luckily my family did have our Tubes, and they also had tubes for purchase. Please update the booklet for current information.Other than that...an excellent experience we will def return. Don't forget to try the " Local Fudge" simply superb!!
