Do NOT let your kids work here. The verbal abuse from Bob and Frank is criminal. I personally tried to have a conversation with Frank regarding the kids and how they were being treated and he acted like it was all 18 lifeguards fault that they all quit. I pointed out specific times where the verbal abuse made a 15 year old girl leave crying and another who was looking for help have to quit mid shift. He called them all lazy kids that just don’t want to work. Funny since most had other jobs lifeguarding and refused to work at Ceco any longer. Frank then “hired” a 45 year old with no current lifeguard certificate to be a guard since she was a guard 20 years ago. Just beware letting kids work here, it’s not worth it - Tracy E

For local users in the Coal City, Illinois area searching for "camping near me," Ceco Campground, located at 798 County Rd 8000 E #722, Coal City, IL 60416, appears as a potential option. However, the limited information available online, particularly the customer reviews, presents a mixed picture that prospective campers should carefully consider before making any decisions.

One of the two available reviews expresses significant concerns, but these concerns are primarily focused on the experience of young individuals working at the facility, rather than the camping experience itself. This review alleges verbal abuse from individuals named Bob and Frank towards the young staff members. The reviewer recounts instances of a 15-year-old girl leaving work crying due to verbal abuse and another young worker quitting mid-shift while seeking help. The reviewer states that when these issues were brought to Frank's attention, he reportedly dismissed them, blaming the lifeguards who had quit as "lazy kids that just don’t want to work." The review further mentions an instance of a 45-year-old individual with an expired lifeguard certificate allegedly being hired as a guard. While these allegations are serious, they pertain to the employment conditions at Ceco rather than the direct experience of campers.

The second review comes from an individual who has not yet visited Ceco Campground but has "heard nothing but the best for camping." This potential camper expresses interest in tent camping with their children and notes the difficulty in contacting the office or owners to inquire about the possibility of tent camping. This lack of readily available contact information online could be a point of inconvenience for local users trying to gather basic information about the campground, such as availability, pricing, and the types of camping permitted (e.g., tent camping, RV sites).

Given the limited and somewhat disparate nature of the available reviews, it is challenging to form a comprehensive understanding of the environment, services, and features of Ceco Campground specifically for camping. The positive sentiment expressed by the potential future camper is encouraging, suggesting that there might be positive aspects to the camping experience. However, the lack of detail in this review makes it difficult to ascertain what those positive aspects might be.

The first review, while focused on employment, does not provide any direct insights into the camping facilities, the natural environment of the campground, or the services offered to campers. Information regarding the size of the campground, the types of campsites available (e.g., with hookups, primitive), the availability of amenities such as restrooms, showers, picnic tables, fire pits, or recreational facilities (e.g., swimming pool, playground) is entirely absent from the provided text.

Similarly, there is no information available regarding the surrounding environment of Ceco Campground. Local users would likely be interested in knowing if the campground is situated in a wooded area, near a body of water (like a lake or river), or if it offers scenic views or access to hiking trails or other outdoor activities. Without this information, it is impossible to describe the natural setting that campers might expect.

In terms of services for campers, the reviews are silent. We do not know if Ceco Campground offers any specific services such as firewood sales, ice availability, laundry facilities (in contrast to the negative review about employee laundry), or any organized activities for campers. The lack of information about essential camping services makes it difficult for local users to assess whether this campground meets their needs.

Features of the campground are also unknown. Does Ceco offer RV hookups (water, electricity, sewer)? Are there designated tent camping areas? Are pets allowed? What are the rules and regulations for campers? These are crucial details that local users would need to know to plan a camping trip, and this information is not present in the provided text.

Finally, there is absolutely no promotional information available for Ceco Campground in the provided reviews. Local users would typically be interested in knowing about any special offers, seasonal rates, or discounts for local residents. The absence of this information means that potential campers would need to seek it out through other means, assuming contact with the campground is possible.

In conclusion, based solely on the provided information, it is challenging to give a detailed and objective introduction to Ceco Campground for local users searching for "camping near me." One review raises serious concerns about the treatment of young employees, which, while not directly related to camping, might reflect on the overall management of the facility. The other review expresses positive anticipation for tent camping but highlights the difficulty in contacting the campground for basic inquiries. Crucially, there is a complete lack of information regarding the campground's environment, services, and features relevant to campers. Local users interested in Ceco Campground will need to find additional sources of information, particularly contact details, to inquire about tent camping possibilities and other essential details to determine if this location suits their needs for a local camping experience.
