Cedar Bend Campground Introduce
For local users in Waverly, Iowa, and the surrounding areas seeking a "camping near me" experience that offers a blend of natural shade and seclusion, Cedar Bend Campground, located on Cedar Bend Dr, Waverly, IA 50677, USA, presents itself as a noteworthy option. Based on the available feedback from recent campers, this campground offers a distinct environment and certain useful amenities, although potential visitors should also be aware of some noted characteristics of the campsites themselves.
The environment of Cedar Bend Campground is described by one reviewer as "well shaded" and "secluded," suggesting a camping experience immersed in a natural setting with ample tree cover providing relief from the sun and a sense of privacy between campsites. This type of environment can be particularly appealing to those seeking a tranquil and more intimate outdoor experience. The seclusion also implies a potentially quieter atmosphere, away from the noise and bustle of more open or heavily trafficked campgrounds. While the reviews do not explicitly detail the specific types of trees or the overall landscape, the emphasis on shade and seclusion paints a picture of a natural, possibly wooded area conducive to relaxation and enjoying the outdoors.
In terms of services and features, Cedar Bend Campground offers some notable amenities. One key feature mentioned is an RV dump station, which is provided free of charge for campers staying at the campground. This is a significant convenience for RV owners, allowing them to manage waste efficiently during their stay. Additionally, the campground offers this dump station for a fee of $5 for those who are not staying overnight but simply need to use the facility. This indicates that Cedar Bend Campground caters to both overnight campers and potentially travelers passing through who require RV disposal services.
Another positive feature highlighted in the reviews is the presence of "some good hike trails." This suggests that the campground provides opportunities for walking, exploring nature, and engaging in physical activity within or directly accessible from the property. Hiking trails can significantly enhance the camping experience, allowing visitors to further immerse themselves in the natural surroundings and enjoy the local flora and fauna. The length, difficulty, or specific scenery of these trails are not detailed in the reviews, but their existence is a notable amenity for those who enjoy outdoor recreation beyond their campsite.
One important characteristic of the campsites themselves, as noted by a reviewer, is that they are "quite uneven," although they are also described as "spacious." The unevenness of the sites is a crucial factor for potential campers to consider, particularly those with RVs or trailers, as it might require extra effort and leveling blocks to ensure a stable and comfortable setup. Tent campers might also need to be mindful of the terrain when choosing their exact spot within a site. However, the spaciousness of the sites is a significant advantage, potentially allowing for more room to spread out, set up equipment, and enjoy the outdoor living area without feeling cramped.
The second brief review simply states that "phones work here." While seemingly a minor point, this can be an important consideration for some campers who need to stay connected or want the reassurance of being able to make calls in case of emergencies. It suggests that the campground is located in an area with sufficient cellular service, which is not always the case in more remote camping locations.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the description of the campground as well-shaded and secluded could be seen as a form of implicit promotion, appealing to those who value privacy and a natural, shaded environment. The availability of a free RV dump station for campers is also a significant benefit that could attract RV owners. Similarly, the presence of hiking trails enhances the appeal for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy walking and exploring. While there are no specific discounts or special offers mentioned, the features themselves serve to promote the campground to specific types of campers.
In conclusion, Cedar Bend Campground in Waverly, Iowa, offers a camping experience characterized by well-shaded and secluded campsites, providing a tranquil and private atmosphere for visitors. The spaciousness of the sites is another advantage, offering ample room for setup and outdoor living. The inclusion of a free RV dump station for campers and the presence of good hiking trails add practical and recreational value to the campground. However, potential visitors should be aware that the campsites are noted to be quite uneven, which might require extra preparation for setup. The fact that phone service is available is a minor but potentially important convenience for some. For local users seeking a shaded and secluded "camping near me" with hiking opportunities and RV services, Cedar Bend Campground is a viable option. It would be advisable to consider the unevenness of the campsites when selecting a site and preparing for your stay. Cedar Bend Campground Reviews
Well shaded secluded campground. The sites are quite uneven, but spacious. Also has RV dump station that is free to those staying in the campground and $5 for those who want to just use the dump station.

Sep 04, 2021 · j pattGreat, clean place to camp. Far enough from town to be quiet, but close enough to be convenient. The huge walnut trees are beautiful! The are hiking trails along the river that are well established. Firewood is available on-site for a small donation.
Jan 05, 2018 · Todd The Fix-it GuyOur gravel site was nice but everything else seemed outdated. Better access to the river would be great
Aug 28, 2024 · BEN BAlways love this place, be it for spending an hour just sitting in one of the day areas, walking the paths, or camping for a weekend with the family.Campground fees are reasonable, Wednesday's are free, there are showers on site, and wood for your fire available for donations. There is a great playground and volleyball pit, and much, much more The camp not only has a host for regular season, there are usually park workers around to give tips or answer questions. There is a decent fishing spot down the north end of the paths. A little something for everyone!
