Celtic Elk Campground Reviews
We stayed here last minute while camping near Rainier a couple of years ago. I’ve never forgotten about it and had a really pleasant experience. The couple who owned it had plans on expanding stay options. They were incredibly friendly and had good suggestions for us as well. There’s a couple RV hookups and the tent spots are on an open field. It can be hot in summer with the sun and little cover but it’s beautiful and has an incredible view of the night sky. It’s near Packwood and has decent entry to both the Rainier and Adams area. There is also a working bathroom and shower option which I thought was great. :)It’s basically a farm and you take a dirt road all the way to the end. I’ve recommended this place to friends since and it’s likely we will revisit. We had a great time.
Jul 20, 2024 · Megan VillaPeaceful, private campground. Reasonable prices. We were able to get in for a quick stay on a summer weekend, which we appreciated. Nicely situated between Mt St Helen’s and Mt Rainier.Shower house was a nice amenity. Toilets are port-a-potties, but they were the cleanest port-a-potties I have ever seen.I recommend this campground.
Jul 17, 2022 · Emma CWas surprised at checking in there was noone in the office. Called the caretaker phone number and no answer or response to a voicemail. Finally talked to the daughter of the owner and grabbed a site. Not the most organized check in for sure, midweek issue perhaps? Great sites, mostly level. Had an issue with the 30 Amp hookup tripping the breaker, unsure of the cause but took some time to get resolved, finally was fixed and didn't recur for the weekend. Was very quiet . Be aware that the access road is narrow and also is the residential access road. Had a great stay here to access Mt. ST. Helen's. Would certainly stay here again.
Aug 25, 2023 · Gbob SithLower your expectation and you won't be as disappointed. The place does look a bit abandoned and scary, but it turns out to be fine. It's basically a field next to a little farm. There is no shade or privacy, but we were there almost alone. The porta-potty and makeshift showers are in terrible condition but power and water work fine.We dumped at the RV campground down the road.I suggest to the owner to stop checking-in customers at the home because it give off a wrong impression. I also suggest they mow the lawn and pump the porta potty, because that stinks up the whole area and is a bio hazard.
Sep 20, 2023 · Carmel BehamVery quiet and peaceful. Great hiking area. Very scenic. The staff are super nice and always helpful. Really accommodating. And good pricing. Good horseback riding trails. The grounds are full of farm life, goats, cows, a horse, ducks, chickens, and lots of wildlife in the area also. The creek is nice. Perfect for creekside tent camping. It's a little off the main road but don't let that deter because it's very much worth the relaxing stay in a homestead ranch type of setting. Great view of the daily sunset. I'm enjoying my stay very much. Thank you very much to The Celtic Elk RV Park and Campgrounds for the wonderful hospitality. 🙂👍definitely a must see in my opinion if your in the scenic white pass area.
