Chestnut Ridge Campground Introduce
Looking for a serene "camping near me" experience in northeastern Ohio? Consider Chestnut Ridge Campground, located at 6486 Chestnut-Ridge Rd, Hubbard, OH 44425, USA. You can reach them at (330) 534-2352 or +1 330-534-2352 for inquiries. Based on available customer feedback, Chestnut Ridge Campground offers a notably quiet and peaceful environment, spacious campsites, and a friendly atmosphere, making it a potentially ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing getaway.
The environment of Chestnut Ridge Campground is a significant draw for visitors seeking tranquility. One reviewer explicitly stated, "This was the most quiet place we have ever stayed. So peaceful," highlighting the campground's ability to provide a serene escape from the noise of everyday life. This suggests that the campground is situated in a location that minimizes external disturbances, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in a peaceful natural setting. While specific details about the surrounding landscape (such as wooded areas, proximity to water bodies, etc.) are not explicitly mentioned, the emphasis on quietude implies a setting conducive to relaxation and enjoyment of nature's sounds.
One of the key features of Chestnut Ridge Campground, as noted by a recent visitor, is the spaciousness of the campsites, particularly on "site 44" and presumably that side of the campground. The reviewer mentioned that the campground had previously had sites positioned closely together but had since eliminated the in-between ones, resulting in "much more room to spread out and not be on top of your neighbor." This suggests a conscious effort by the campground management to enhance the comfort and privacy of their guests by providing larger and more accommodating campsites. This feature is particularly appealing to campers who value having ample space for their tents, RVs, and outdoor setup.
The proximity of Chestnut Ridge Campground to downtown Sharon, Pennsylvania, is another notable feature. One reviewer specifically chose this location because "it was so close to downtown Sharon PA" and found it "so easy to get there from the Campground!" This suggests that while the campground offers a peaceful retreat, it also provides convenient access to the amenities, attractions, and services available in Sharon, PA. This could be a significant advantage for campers who wish to explore the local area, visit shops or restaurants, or attend events in Sharon.
The social atmosphere of Chestnut Ridge Campground appears to be positive, with one reviewer describing everyone as "super friendly." This suggests a welcoming and community-oriented environment where guests can feel comfortable and perhaps interact positively with fellow campers. A friendly atmosphere can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, contributing to a more enjoyable and relaxed stay.
However, it is important to note a specific service limitation mentioned in the reviews: "There is no WIFI here." Campers who rely on internet connectivity for work, communication, or entertainment should be aware of this. The reviewer with AT&T mentioned having "no problems with connections" for cellular service, and they were able to receive "about 17 over-the-air stations with our camper antenna to watch Football." This indicates that while Wi-Fi is not provided, cellular reception may be adequate for some users, and over-the-air television is an available option for entertainment.
One review presented a significant concern regarding the booking process for a long-term stay. The potential guest reported being asked for an "extensive plan about what I would be doing in the area," which they perceived as "too intrusive." They expressed the opinion that a campground's primary concerns should be the background check and payment, similar to a hotel/motel. This review raises a point about the campground's policies and the level of information requested from potential long-term guests. It is important for prospective campers, especially those seeking extended stays, to be aware that they might be asked for details about their plans in the area.
Considering the available information, Chestnut Ridge Campground offers a quiet and peaceful camping environment with spacious campsites and a friendly atmosphere. Its proximity to Sharon, PA, provides convenient access to local amenities. However, it does not offer Wi-Fi, and potential long-term guests should be prepared for inquiries about their activities in the area. For local users seeking a tranquil "camping near me" option with ample space and a welcoming vibe, Chestnut Ridge Campground could be a suitable choice. It would be advisable to contact the campground directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about site availability, specific amenities, and any current policies or promotions.
In conclusion, Chestnut Ridge Campground in Hubbard, Ohio, presents itself as a peaceful and spacious camping destination near you. The positive feedback regarding its quiet environment and friendly atmosphere, coupled with its convenient location near Sharon, PA, makes it an attractive option for those seeking a relaxing camping experience. However, the lack of Wi-Fi and the reported concerns about the booking process for long-term stays are factors that potential visitors should consider. For a tranquil "camping near me" getaway with ample space, Chestnut Ridge Campground is worth exploring further by contacting them directly for the most up-to-date information and to address any specific concerns.

Chestnut Ridge Campground Reviews
I did not stay at the campground but I have serious concerns about it. I called about a month long site and was asked for an extensive plan about what I would be doing in the area. Not sure about anyone else but frankly that is not there concern. Run the background check, take my money, and if there is an issue you can ask me to leave but the rest is being too intrusive. Makes me think that they sell folks info because campgrounds in essence are hotel/motels where we provide our own lodgings and they only provide the land and some amenities at the cost of a motel room. I have never been put through the wringer like I was with this place by a motel/hotel so make of it what you will. Hopefully they were just targeting me and nobody else has this type of experience but there you go. My honest review.
May 03, 2025 · Michelle FitzgeraldWe chose this place since it was so close to downtown Sharon PA. It was so easy to get there from the Campground! This was the most quiet place we have ever stayed. So peaceful and everyone was super friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer since we were enjoying ourselves. We stayed on site 44; they are spacious on that side of the campground. They used to have sites on top of each other but now they eliminated the in-between ones which gives you much more room to spread out and not be on top of your neighbor. There is no WIFI here, so be prepared if you need it. Sep 17, 2024 · Denise Garlow (DeeG)We travel full-time in our rv with Youngstown as our home base. When we want peace and quiet, we go to Chestnut Ridge. We appreciate the laundry on site, and there is a lot for kids to go do. We don't even have kids but know we would have loved coming here when we were younger. Level sites, quiet nights.
Oct 18, 2024 · Clean Slate Dirty TiresWe camped in our RV 3 nights (site 106) which had us along the beautiful pond! We loved sitting at the picnic table near our campfire with that view. The grounds were neatly kept and the $20 pack of wood (that we preordered) was huge and delivered to our site for us. The various structures inc the bathroom/showers/laundry, game room, and beach bathhouse are usable but desperately need updated. There was newer playground equipment and lots of open grassy areas for kids to play. The basketball area was in rough shape but we weren’t there for that. The owners were very nice and the place overall was quiet and peaceful. We will visit again but hopefully the bathrooms will be redone by then.
Sep 05, 2024 · Cindy WernertMy husband and I took our 4 year old camping here over Memorial Day weekend. We stayed Friday-Monday. I want to start off by saying how nice the owners are both over the phone and in person, very genuinely nice people which I really appreciate. The campground is absolutely BEAUTIFUL you just can't beat the sight of nature. You can tell they care about the campground and you can see it's well kept. We caught several fish which was especially awesome for my son. It is catch and release which was fine by us because that's how we normally fish no matter where we are. They had a nice game room and to our surprise all of the games besides pool are free to play so that was very nice. The playground is just AMAZING very big and nice they had several little things besides the big play set and swings as well. We bought wood which was very reasonably priced as well as the sites. They have great prices and have a beautiful camp ground. If you are looking for somewhere to camp I highly recommend you check this place out! This is our new go to camp ground. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. Will for sure be camping here again in the future!
