COLD SPRINGS CAMPGROUND

Highway 95, Council, ID 83612, USA

4.0
The campground was quaint and nice. My family and I (two small kids) stayed at #26 which was closely tucked between two other sites and while we were close to other sites, it was doable. Lots of other sites that could offer more shade/more seclusion but we enjoyed our time there. The bathrooms were not attended to which is why they lost a star rating. Pictures of the site throughout the day to gage the shade/lack of shade where we were at. - Suzanne S

Looking for a "camping near me" experience that offers a blend of tranquility and natural beauty? Consider Cold Springs Campground, located in Council, Idaho (zip code 83612). Based on recent customer reviews, this campground presents itself as a "quaint and nice" option, particularly appreciated for its quiet atmosphere and escape from cellular connectivity.

Environment and Location: Cold Springs Campground is situated in Council, Idaho. Council is the county seat of Adams County, a region known for its scenic landscapes in western Idaho. While the reviews don't explicitly detail the immediate natural surroundings of the campground, mentions of shade and the possibility of more secluded sites suggest a setting with trees. One reviewer noted that their site (#26) was "closely tucked between two other sites" but also acknowledged that "lots of other sites that could offer more shade/more seclusion" were available. This implies a varied landscape within the campground, with some areas being more open and others more shaded and private.

The proximity to Highway 95, as indicated by the address, suggests that the campground might be easily accessible. However, the positive feedback regarding it being a "great little quiet place to camp" implies that it still manages to maintain a peaceful atmosphere despite its accessibility. The availability of shade in some sites would be a significant advantage, especially during the warmer months.

Services and Amenities: Based on the user reviews, we can gather some information about the services and amenities at Cold Springs Campground:

  • Restrooms: One reviewer mentioned that the "bathrooms were not attended to," which led to a slight deduction in their rating. However, another reviewer who stayed more recently stated that the "restrooms were clean." This suggests that the cleanliness of the restrooms might vary or that maintenance has improved. It's advisable to be prepared for potentially variable conditions.
  • No Showers: A notable absence is showers, as explicitly mentioned by a reviewer ("No shower unfortunately"). For those planning longer stays or who value showering facilities, this is an important point to consider. However, the reviewer also offered alternatives: "you can always go swim in the lake or go to a hot spring," suggesting that there might be nearby options for getting clean.
  • Pet-Friendly: One positive aspect highlighted is that "lots of people had dogs there," indicating that Cold Springs Campground is likely pet-friendly. For campers who enjoy traveling with their furry companions, this is a significant benefit.
  • Cell Service: If you're looking to disconnect, you'll appreciate that it's a place to enjoy "being away from cell phone signal." This lack of connectivity can be a significant draw for those wanting a true escape from the digital world.
