Lafferty Campground Introduce
Seeking a serene "camping near me" experience? Consider Lafferty Campground, situated in the picturesque landscapes near Council, Idaho. Located at Council, ID 83612, USA, Lafferty Campground provides a tranquil escape for those who appreciate a smaller, more intimate camping setting. While a specific phone number isn't provided in the available information, its location in Council offers a point of reference for local inquiries or online searches through camping platforms.
The environment of Lafferty Campground is characterized by its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Reviewers describe it as a "very pretty area," suggesting a visually appealing setting that allows campers to immerse themselves in the Idaho wilderness. The campground's smaller size, with approximately ten spots, contributes to its quiet and calm ambiance, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a respite from more crowded camping destinations. While the immediate surroundings are appreciated for their beauty, it's important to note, as highlighted by a visitor, that the location is somewhat remote, with no immediate proximity to stores, lakes, or other amenities. This remoteness, however, can also be seen as a significant advantage for those prioritizing peace and seclusion.
The services and amenities at Lafferty Campground are basic, catering to a more self-sufficient camping style. The campground features vault toilets, which are non-flush restrooms common in more rustic camping environments. Water is available via a manual pump, requiring campers to physically pump their water as needed. Each of the approximately ten campsites is equipped with a fire ring, allowing for campfires and outdoor cooking (subject to local fire regulations). The infrastructure includes a paved road running throughout the campground, which is a notable convenience for navigating the area. However, the individual campsites themselves are gravel, providing a typical camping surface for tents or RVs.
A key feature of Lafferty Campground is its small and intimate size, fostering a sense of quiet and privacy. This contrasts with larger campgrounds that may have more activity and noise. The presence of fire rings at each site encourages the traditional camping experience of gathering around a fire. The paved road enhances accessibility within the campground itself. However, potential visitors should be aware of the remoteness mentioned by a reviewer. The lack of nearby conveniences such as stores and lakes means that campers need to be well-prepared and bring all necessary supplies with them. The reviewer's reminder to "pack it out if you pack it in" underscores the importance of responsible camping practices at this location.
Another point to consider, as mentioned by a visitor, is the campground's proximity to the main road, which may result in some road noise. While the overall atmosphere is described as nice and quiet, this proximity is a factor to be aware of for those particularly sensitive to noise. The combination of a paved campground road with gravel sites suggests a balance between accessibility and a more natural camping feel at each individual spot.
For local users searching for "camping near me" who value a smaller, quieter camping experience and are comfortable with basic amenities, Lafferty Campground presents a viable option. Its pretty natural setting and the provision of essential facilities like vault toilets, a manual water pump, and fire rings cater to a more traditional camping approach. The paved road within the campground is a definite plus. However, the remoteness of the location necessitates thorough preparation and bringing all necessary supplies. The potential for some road noise is also something to consider.
In summary, Lafferty Campground offers a peaceful and intimate camping experience in a pretty area near Council, Idaho. Its small size, basic amenities, and quiet atmosphere make it suitable for campers seeking a more secluded retreat. While the remoteness requires careful planning and packing, the opportunity to enjoy a tranquil natural setting with the convenience of a paved campground road and individual fire rings may be precisely what some "camping near me" enthusiasts are looking for. Consider Lafferty Campground for your next camping trip if you prioritize peace, self-sufficiency, and a connection with nature in a smaller campground setting.

Lafferty Campground Reviews
Nice small campground with about maybe ten spots. It has a manual pump for water, vault toilets, fire rings in each site, paved road throughout the campground, but the sites are gravel. It was nice a quiet, very pretty area, but nothing is close by (stores, lakes, etc.) so be prepared to bring everything you need - and please pack it out if you pack it in!
