Based on the limited but positive feedback from recent visitors, this campground appears to offer accommodating service, potentially beautiful wooded campsites, and even a bakery, catering to a range of camping preferences from primitive to RV stays.
One of the standout features highlighted in the reviews is the exceptional service provided, particularly by an individual named Jackie. One camper referred to Jackie as an "actual angel" due to her willingness to go "above and beyond" to accommodate a last-minute booking necessitated by weather issues. This level of helpfulness and flexibility can be invaluable, especially for local users who may need a spontaneous camping option or encounter unforeseen circumstances affecting their travel plans. The positive experience with booking suggests a customer-focused approach at Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground.
Another reviewer explicitly recommends "Colors of the Forest for your next primitive or non-primitive trip!" This statement indicates that the campground caters to different styles of camping, offering both basic, undeveloped sites for a more rustic experience and potentially more developed sites suitable for RVs or those preferring amenities. This versatility makes it an attractive option for a diverse range of local campers seeking "camping near me," whether they prefer a back-to-nature experience or the comforts of an RV setup.
One camper who stayed at one of their "newer sites" provided further details about the environment and some of the amenities. They described the site as "nice" and "level," which are important factors for comfortable camping, whether in a tent or an RV. The presence of a "nice picnic table" adds to the convenience and enjoyment of the campsite. The reviewer also noted that the sites had "wooded in between," suggesting a degree of privacy and a natural, shaded environment. For local users who appreciate a sense of seclusion and immersion in nature while "camping near me," this wooded aspect could be a significant draw.
While this reviewer did not see the restrooms and therefore could not comment on them, they did enthusiastically mention that "The bakery is amazing." This is a unique and appealing feature that sets Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground apart from many other campgrounds. The availability of fresh baked goods on-site could be a delightful perk for local campers, offering a convenient way to enjoy treats and perhaps even breakfast items without leaving the campground. This amenity could be a significant selling point and enhance the overall camping experience.
The same reviewer also noted that "The employees are very nice also," reinforcing the positive impression of the service at this campground. Friendly and helpful staff can greatly contribute to a pleasant and stress-free camping trip. Their comment that the campground "has a lot of potential" and their anticipation of its "progress" suggests that Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground may be a developing facility with ongoing improvements, making it a place to watch for local camping enthusiasts.

Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground Reviews
Jackie is an actual angel! She was extremely accommodating for our last minute booking (due to weather). We had a lot of trouble getting in anywhere else but Jackie went above and beyond to make sure we had a place to stay.Highly recommend Colors of the Forest for your next primitive or non-primitive trip!
Apr 16, 2025 · Erika KuralakWe camped at one of their newer sites. Nice site, level, nice picnic table and wooded in between sites. Never saw the rooms, can’t review. The bakery is amazing. The employees are very nice also. It has a lot of potential so I am looking forward to their progress. We will be back
Oct 21, 2024 · Jill CiccoWe did not rate the rooms because we did not stay in them. We camped in a full hookup spot. As so many of the other posts mentioned, Tammy (the manager) does a wonderful job of making sure you are warmly welcomed and have everything you need. The new owners took over a well-used, well-loved campground and are working diligently to give it a makeover. We stayed at this camp years ago so we can see the improvements - perhaps if this is your first time through, you cannot see the upgrades - but they are there. The owners have a vision and are working their way toward the goal. Be sure to try some of their bakery treats! You won't be disappointed! Don't make a decision about this campground until you try it for yourself and experience their warm hospitality.
Apr 28, 2024 · Linda D'AngeloWe just spent a long weekend here, and it was great. Very quiet and peaceful. The location of this campground is perfect! Just a few minute drive to all the spots you want to check out in Cooks Forest! We stayed in the full hook up spot, so I did not rate the rooms. The owners and staff here are so friendly and nice! It really makes your camping stay more enjoyable when everyone is so friendly. We had the donuts from the bakery, and they were delicious!!They had events planned for Saturday, which was fun! Bingo, ice cream, and music. We definitely want to come back. For us, the only a few small things I'd suggest is something for smaller kids to do like a playground for when there's downtime. There are some bigger pot holes and if we had a nicer camper I'd be upset but since we have an old camper it didn't bother us. If they were filled in it would be really nice. Also for people who need internet access it's very hard to get reception. Again for us it was nice to just unplug!!We can't wait to see the progress for next year and see new updates!
Aug 13, 2024 · Danielle LWe stayed here last year during Labor Day. Absolutely beautiful scenery. We stayed longer so one of the only people in an RV which was so peaceful. Staff was amazing and super friendly and helpful. We showed up late and they helped us find our spot and guided us around in the dark. Clean showers. A homie feel to this place. Looking forward to staying again when we visit PA!
