Conestoga Grand River Campground Introduce
For local residents searching for "camping near me," Conestoga Grand River Campground, located at 9720 Oriole Dr, Coopersville, MI 49404, USA, presents itself as a potentially accommodating option. Situated in Coopersville, Michigan, this campground offers a location that may be convenient for those in the surrounding areas seeking a quick getaway or a longer camping stay. To learn more about what Conestoga Grand River Campground offers, let's delve into the available customer feedback.
One positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the apparent warmth and helpfulness of the staff. One reviewer specifically mentioned that the "Camp Hosts were warm and friendly" and that the "maintenance personnel all friendly." This suggests that guests can generally expect a welcoming and positive interaction with the campground staff, which can significantly contribute to a pleasant camping experience. Feeling welcomed and knowing that assistance is readily available can make a big difference, especially for first-time campers or those encountering any issues during their stay.
Another mentioned amenity is the presence of a pool. The reviewer noted being "happy the hours were late for a brief swim," indicating that the pool is available for use and that its operating hours extend into the evening, providing flexibility for campers to enjoy a swim after a day of activities or travel. While the size and features of the pool aren't detailed, its availability is a definite plus for those looking to cool off and relax during their camping trip, particularly during the warmer months.
However, it's important to consider all feedback to gain a balanced understanding of what Conestoga Grand River Campground offers. One reviewer shared a less positive experience, mentioning that they "got a super small spot (didn’t know that when we booked) that was along the walkway." This suggests that campsite sizes may vary, and it's crucial for potential guests to inquire about the specific dimensions and layout of their assigned site when booking. The reviewer also noted that they "couldn’t even put our awning out fully" and described the area as "dirt," indicating that some sites might lack ample space or a more developed ground covering.
Furthermore, the same reviewer pointed out an inconvenient fire ring placement, stating that it "was BEHIND our camper and when the camper pulled in behind us, we would have been at their camper to even have a fire in our fire pit." This highlights a potential issue with the arrangement of some campsites, where the placement of amenities like fire rings might not be ideal in relation to neighboring sites. While the camper behind them ended up leaving, the reviewer's experience underscores the importance of understanding the layout of your specific campsite to avoid such inconveniences.
The fact that the first reviewer stated, "we definitely will not go back," indicates a significant level of dissatisfaction with their experience, primarily due to the small site and the fire ring placement. This serves as a cautionary note for potential future campers, emphasizing the need to ask detailed questions about the campsite before finalizing a booking.
On the other hand, the second reviewer's experience was overwhelmingly positive, describing it as "sheer luck someone found this website!" and expressing that they "couldn't have been happier." Their positive feedback was tied to the accommodating nature of the campground, particularly given their need to be in Spring Lake for a family emergency. This suggests that the campground may excel in providing support and flexibility to guests facing unforeseen circumstances. The positive comments about the "warm and friendly" Camp Hosts and the "friendly" maintenance personnel further reinforce the potential for a positive guest experience, especially in terms of staff interaction and support.
To get a comprehensive understanding of the services and features offered at Conestoga Grand River Campground, it would be beneficial to contact them directly at (616) 837-6323 or via mobile phone at +1 616-837-6323. Inquiring about the different types of campsites available (e.g., RV sites, tent sites), their sizes, ground surfaces, the location of amenities like fire rings and picnic tables, and the overall layout of the campground would be prudent. Additionally, you can ask about other facilities that might be available, such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, recreational areas (beyond the pool), and any specific policies or rules that might affect your stay. While promotional information isn't provided in the reviews, it's always worth asking if they have any special offers or discounts available, especially for local residents or during specific times of the year.
In conclusion, for those in the "camping near me" category looking at options in the Coopersville, Michigan area, Conestoga Grand River Campground presents a mixed picture based on the limited available reviews. The campground appears to have friendly and accommodating staff and offers amenities like a pool. However, there are also concerns raised about the size and layout of some campsites, as well as the placement of amenities. Potential guests are strongly encouraged to contact the campground directly to get detailed information about available campsites and to ensure that their specific needs and preferences can be met. By asking the right questions and understanding the potential variability in campsite quality, local users can make an informed decision about whether Conestoga Grand River Campground is the right fit for their next camping experience.

Conestoga Grand River Campground Reviews
We got a super small spot (didn’t know that when we booked) that was along the walkway. We couldn’t even put our awning out fully. Dirt. The fire ring was BEHIND our camper and when the camper pulled in behind us, we would have been at their camper to even have a fire in our fire pit. They ended up leaving but we definitely will not go back.
Mar 09, 2025 · Lisa KeeneyIt was sheer luck someone found this website! We couldn't have been happier. Had to be in Spring Lake for a family emergency and could not have found a place more accommodating. The Camp Hosts were warm and friendly, the maintenance personnel all friendly. Had little time for the pool but was happy the hours were late for a brief swim.
Aug 10, 2024 · Cathy PanczykMy wife came here as a child so she insists we visit here each year. That is the only reason I would Ever stay here. Imagine 4 parking spots from your grocery store, 2 side by side and the 2 directly across, and that is essentially the space you get to put your tent, fire pit, and vehicle. You are so close you can hear the conversations of campers around you. Store opens late and closes early, prices seem high, bathrooms are Usually a quarter inch of water and nasty. Arcade for kids has out of order signs on 90% of the machines (so 1 or 2 work), docks are shaky and sinking partially below the water. Kids cut through your camp site, people are drunk yelling past midnight, and people are constantly driving around golf carts which beep when reversing. Ive stayed here 5 or 6 times now, and each time I consider putting my foot down and saying never again. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Jul 14, 2024 · TheAproneIf your ma and pa are first cousins or you are married to your sister or have a 6th grade IQ then this is the place for you. Worst experience I have had this whole year. Office is no help if you have issues
