Contra Costa County Fair RV Park Introduce
For those searching for "Camping Near Me" with an RV in the Antioch, California area, the Contra Costa County Fair RV Park is a listed option. Located at Unnamed Road, 1201 W 10th St, Antioch, CA 94509, USA, this RV park is situated on the fairgrounds property. For inquiries, you can contact them at (925) 757-4400 or +1 925-757-4400.
The Contra Costa County Fair RV Park is situated on the grounds of the Contra Costa County Fair. This unique setting means that the park's environment can be influenced by fair activities, which may include events, shows, and associated crowds at certain times of the year. Outside of fair events, the park likely operates as a standard RV parking facility. However, based on customer feedback, the everyday environment presents some notable challenges. The park is described as having issues with cleanliness, particularly regarding pet waste, with comments indicating that "Nobody cleans up after their dogs." This suggests a potential lack of consistent enforcement of pet policies or a general disregard for cleanliness by some residents or visitors, which could impact the overall aesthetic and sanitary conditions of the park.
Furthermore, the social environment is also a significant aspect. Reports mention "permanently residing noisy/destructive neighbors" and concerns about safety, with allegations of drug-related activities occurring in the parking lot. These elements contribute to an environment that some find unsettling or less than ideal for a peaceful stay. Parking is also a reported issue, with a lack of available spaces for actual residents due to what is perceived as unauthorized parking by others. This can lead to inconvenience and frustration for those staying at the park long-term or short-term. The overall impression conveyed by some reviewers is that the park's environment is far from ideal, leading to descriptions such as "a joke."
As an RV park, the fundamental service offered by Contra Costa County Fair RV Park is providing spaces for recreational vehicles, presumably with hookups. However, the quality and reliability of these services are a point of concern based on feedback. Specifically, there are reports of electrical issues, where the "amps blow if you use more than one appliance at a time inside your RV." This indicates a potential problem with the electrical infrastructure, suggesting that the amperage provided at the sites may be insufficient or faulty. Such issues can be highly inconvenient and potentially damaging to RV appliances, requiring residents to manage their power consumption carefully. The need for a resident to reportedly pay out-of-pocket to replace a breaker for two spaces due to a lack of maintenance response further highlights potential issues with the park's service and maintenance protocols.
Beyond the basic RV hookups, information about other typical RV park amenities like restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or recreational areas is not provided in the given reviews. This lack of information makes it difficult to assess the full scope of services and features available. Given the concerns raised about the overall environment and electrical issues, potential visitors should inquire directly about the condition and availability of all amenities before committing to a stay. While some fairground events might offer "cute critters" or "nice art" during specific times, these are fair attractions and not consistent features of the RV park itself.
The Contra Costa County Fair RV Park appears to serve primarily as a functional RV parking option, possibly for those seeking an affordable or conveniently located spot in Antioch, especially if they are involved with fairground activities. However, the promotional appeal of the park is significantly impacted by the negative feedback regarding management, cleanliness, noise, safety, and infrastructure reliability. Recommendations from dissatisfied former residents or visitors explicitly suggest seeking alternative accommodations in nearby areas such as Oakley or Bethel Island, implying that these locations might offer a more positive experience.
For individuals or families searching for "RV Parks Near Me" with expectations of a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment with reliable utilities and professional management, the Contra Costa County Fair RV Park, based on the provided information, may not meet those expectations. Prospective residents considering a long-term stay should be particularly cautious and conduct a thorough on-site inspection, ideally speaking with current residents, to understand the day-to-day realities of living in the park. Short-term campers should also be aware of the reported issues, especially regarding electrical capacity and the overall atmosphere, before making a reservation. The value proposition of this park seems to be heavily weighed against the reported operational and environmental challenges.

Contra Costa County Fair RV Park Reviews
The owners are rude and disrespectful. Nobody cleans up after their dogs , there’s permanently residing noisy/destructive neighbors who have immunity from getting in ANY trouble. There’s never any parking for actual residents because of all the people who come to sleep/ buy dope in the Parking lot. This place is a joke , go to Oakley or bethel island . Oh , and the amps blow if you use more than one appliance at a time inside your RV , my boyfriend had to pay out of his own pocket to replace the breaker for TWO SPACES because the manager “couldn’t get a hold of the maintenance guy” . A JOKE
Aug 08, 2024 · Alisha SwaffordI didn't pay for parking, only paid $1 to get in and I only bought a corn dog, a deep fried Twinkie and a lemonade and spent $20. Cute critters. Nice art. Nothing more.
May 22, 2023 · Steven VercherPretty good for a fairground rv park. The hosts are great, 30 amp full hookups to every site. Pretty tight spots but only $30/night. No reservations, first come first serve, stay as long as you want.
Oct 03, 2020 · Isaac PicheI just spent several a nights in the overflow area of the camp and was extremely disappointed in the conditions. Nothing was paved or had gravel down and after a two day rain it was a quagmire. I had to pull two people out of the mud so they could get to solid ground to park their car. Why don’t you take some of the generated revenue and at least bring in some gravel. I sure won’t be back.
Nov 03, 2021 · Curtis BryantNice place to stay, pretty quiet. Park host was really nice. Back in spaces, only 18 spaces but there was plenty of room when we were there.
