Based on recent feedback from campers, Coon Fork Campground is consistently praised for its cleanliness and upkeep. One visitor who stayed over Memorial weekend reported that "everything was good" and specifically noted that it is a "clean and well kept campground." They also expressed appreciation for the "new welcome office" and the fact that the campground is consistently maintained "year after year." This indicates a commitment by the management to provide a pleasant and well-cared-for environment for their guests. This particular camper stayed in a "nonelectric site" to try "dry docking" for the first time and had a successful experience, suggesting that the campground accommodates various camping styles, including those who prefer or require non-hookup sites. The cleanliness of the facilities extended to the "bathhouse and restrooms," which were described as "clean and very nice," a significant factor for camper comfort. Beyond the campsite itself, the reviewer also enjoyed the "Great walking paths and sunsets," highlighting the scenic aspects of the campground and its surroundings. For those interested in water activities, they noted it as the "Best place for kayaking and pond fishing," indicating that the campground offers excellent opportunities for these recreational pursuits.
Another visitor described Coon Fork Campground as a "Fun little lake and campground," clarifying that it features a "man made lake and campgrounds" situated approximately "5-ish miles east of Augusta, WI." This provides important context about the environment – a human-created lake that serves as a central feature for recreation. The size of the lake is estimated to be about "1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide," offering a substantial area for kayaking and other water activities. The reviewer also mentioned "pond fishing," suggesting that there might be separate pond areas designated for fishing, in addition to the lake itself. However, this reviewer also provided an important piece of information regarding potential environmental conditions, stating, "This was the worst year the park ranger has ever seen for mosquitoes." This indicates that while the campground has many positive attributes, potential visitors should be aware of the possibility of significant mosquito activity, especially during certain times of the year. It would be wise for local users planning a trip to Coon Fork Campground to come prepared with insect repellent and take necessary precautions.

Coon Fork Campground Reviews
We stayed a couple of nights over Memorial weekend and everything was good. This is a clean and well kept campground. Glad to see the new welcome office and that the campground is kept up year after year. We stayed with our camper in a nonelectric site so we could, for the first time, try dry docking and everything went great. The bathhouse and restrooms were clean and very nice. Great walking paths and sunsets. Best place for kayaking and pond fishing.
Jun 03, 2023 · Todd BFun little lake and campground. This is a man made lake and campgrounds. It is 5-ish miles east of Augusta, WI. The lake is about 1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide. This was the worst year the park ranger has ever seen for mosquitoes.
Jul 22, 2024 · Ryan PhoneGreat place to camp. The D loop does have water and electric sites that are near the dock and dam. I would recommend bringing your own wood. The wood we purchased from the office was very wet. The playgrounds near the campsites need some work. Overall we had a great stay.
Aug 01, 2023 · A EWe stayed one night on our travel back to MN from FL. What a wonderful campground. Beautiful views of the lake. Sites are level and private. Bathrooms and showers are clean. New dump station. The staff went above and beyond meeting our needs.
