Davidson's Countryside Campground Introduce
For local residents in New Hampshire seeking a delightful and well-regarded camping experience under the "camping near me" category, Davidson's Countryside Campground, located at 100 Schofield Rd in Bristol, offers a tranquil and family-friendly escape. Based on the glowing reviews from recent visitors, this campground stands out for its picturesque setting, exceptional staff, engaging amenities, and overall welcoming atmosphere. This introduction aims to provide local users with a comprehensive understanding of the environment, services, and features that make Davidson's Countryside Campground an ideal choice for their next outdoor adventure.
Immerse Yourself in the Beauty of the Forest and Riverfront
Davidson's Countryside Campground is lauded for its beautiful natural environment. One family with a two-year-old daughter stayed in a tent site described as "absolutely perfect, lots of shadow, lots of space, beautiful forest, very quiet." This suggests that the campground offers well-maintained and spacious tent sites nestled within a serene and picturesque woodland setting, providing ample shade and a sense of tranquility for those seeking a peaceful retreat. The quiet atmosphere is consistently highlighted, making it an ideal location for those looking to escape the noise and bustle of everyday life.
A significant feature of the campground is its location "on a nice spot on the river (which is beautiful) with a little beach to swim." This riverfront access provides campers with the opportunity to enjoy the water, whether for a refreshing swim at the little beach or simply to appreciate the scenic beauty of the river. The fact that guests sometimes had the beach "to ourselves" suggests a sense of privacy and exclusivity, enhancing the appeal for those seeking a more secluded experience.
The combination of a beautiful forest setting and river access offers a diverse range of natural environments to explore and enjoy. Local users can anticipate scenic walks, the soothing sounds of the river, and the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of New Hampshire.
Engaging Amenities for Families and All Campers
Davidson's Countryside Campground goes beyond basic camping amenities by offering features designed to enhance the stay for all guests, especially families. The provision of an "indoor space with a play room (toys, books)" is a significant advantage, particularly during inclement weather. This thoughtful amenity ensures that children have a dedicated area for entertainment, allowing families to enjoy their camping trip regardless of the weather conditions.
The campground also organizes "fun craft activities with the staff," providing engaging and creative opportunities for campers of all ages to interact and enjoy themselves. These activities add a personal touch to the camping experience and foster a sense of community within the campground.
While one reviewer noted the absence of dedicated dishwashing facilities ("aren't any facilities to do dishes, apart from the general (cold water) faucets in between camp sites"), they also mentioned that it "worked out fine for the week." This suggests that while it might be a minor inconvenience, it does not significantly detract from the overall positive experience. The availability of general faucets provides a basic solution for washing needs.
The "bathrooms were nice, and spotless," indicating a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance for essential facilities. This is a crucial aspect for camper comfort and hygiene, and the positive feedback in this regard is noteworthy.
Exceptional and Welcoming Staff
The staff at Davidson's Countryside Campground consistently receive high praise for their professionalism, helpfulness, and friendliness. One reviewer appreciated the professionalism of Allison, Amy, and Hayden, who "greeted me, answered all my questions and showed me to my campsite." The staff's proactive engagement with guests, including "checking in with us all the time," contributes significantly to the welcoming and supportive atmosphere of the campground.
Another reviewer specifically mentioned meeting the owner John and his son, the beekeeper, and even had the opportunity to purchase "delicious honey." This personal interaction with the owners adds a unique and charming dimension to the camping experience, making guests feel more connected to the campground and its local character.
The positive interactions with the staff, from the initial greeting to ongoing support, play a crucial role in creating a memorable and enjoyable stay for local users.

Davidson's Countryside Campground Reviews
What a great campground. We stayed for a week with our 2 year old daughter and were assigned a tent site that was absolutely perfect, lots of shadow, lots of space, beautiful forest, very quiet. The campground is located on a nice spot on the river (which is beautiful) with a little beach to swim, that we had to ourselves a couple of times. We had some rain this week, and were happy with the indoor space with a play room (toys, books) and some fun craft activities with the staff. Staff is amazing! So helpful, super friendly, checking in with us all the time. The only (minor) thing for improvement is there aren't any facilities to do dishes, apart from the general (cold water) faucets in between camp sites. It worked out fine for the week. Bathrooms were nice, and spotless. Good swimming and hiking opportunities in the area too.
Aug 11, 2024 · Sterre BoerkampLast month I spent two nights at the Davidson's Countryside Campground. It was a wonderful experience. I appreciated the professionalism of Allison, Amy and Hayden who greeted me, answered all my questions and showed me to my campsite. The site was well maintained and spacious. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner John and his son the beekeeper. I bought a few jars of his delicious honey. I plan to return to Davidson's again.
Jul 01, 2024 · Danette DayThis place is amazing! They got us in very last minute after a bad experience at another campground, and we are so grateful. We wanted a vacation for my birthday weekend and were not disappointed! So quiet, peaceful, and beautiful here! Will definitely be coming back here! The staff is absolutely amazing, so kind and helpful!
Aug 01, 2024 · Kyra MartinCamp here every summer. The staff is awesome. Bathroom facilities clean and awesome hot water. Always something going on for fun. Reservation requests answered in timely manner. Very easy to communicate with staff. Thanks again for another fun filled weekHighly recommend for families of all ages
Jul 21, 2024 · Sandra KelleherGreat spot for camping. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. So easy to deal with when needing help. The campground was clean and though the bathrooms are a bit barebones they are well maintained and clean. You do have to pay to shower which was different for us but I think that helps keep them clean. The campground kind of has 2 different environments, wooded or the field. The field is very open without much shade and the sights are packed into one another. The wooded is the exact opposite. Wish they had more full hookups but the dump station was easy to access when needed. Poop was nice and never crowded. River was nice and those tent sights looked cool. The campground has lots of seasonal people that didn’t seem to be there during the week so mid weak was kind of quiet where the weekends were busier. Overall great stay though wish had all their sights full hookups.
