Dixieland Campground Introduce
Looking for a convenient and potentially budget-friendly camping option near you in the Pembroke, Kentucky area? Dixieland Campground, located at 1620 Pembroke-Fairview Rd, Pembroke, KY 42266, USA, might be worth considering for your next outdoor adventure or longer-term stay. Situated within a gated area, this campground offers a tranquil setting that features a pond perfect for fishing, promising a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
For those searching for "camping near me" that combines natural beauty with essential amenities, Dixieland Campground presents itself as a local option. While specific details about the number of campsites, hookups (water, electricity, sewer), and other facilities are not extensively available online, the presence of a laundry room suggests that basic conveniences are provided for campers. However, it's important to note that one recent review describes the laundry room as "filthy" with "money hungry" dryers and ineffective washers. This feedback should be taken into consideration when planning your stay and assessing your laundry needs.
One of the frequently mentioned aspects of Dixieland Campground is the friendliness of the owners. According to one positive review, the owner has been helpful with minor maintenance issues, indicating a willingness to assist campers. This personal touch can significantly enhance the camping experience, especially for those new to the area or requiring occasional assistance. Furthermore, the "quiet and gated area" aspect contributes to a sense of security and peace, allowing guests to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The presence of a pond for fishing is a significant feature for those who enjoy angling or simply appreciate the calming presence of water. Imagine spending your afternoons casting a line and enjoying the peaceful ambiance of the Kentucky countryside. This natural amenity adds a unique appeal to Dixieland Campground, setting it apart from more basic camping grounds.
Another compelling factor highlighted in the reviews is the affordability of the monthly rate. One reviewer explicitly states, "You can't beat the monthly rate!" This suggests that Dixieland Campground could be an attractive option for individuals seeking a longer-term camping solution at a reasonable cost. This could be particularly appealing for those working in the area temporarily, traveling for extended periods, or seeking a more economical living arrangement.
However, it's crucial to approach your decision with a balanced perspective, considering all available feedback. One detailed negative review raises some significant concerns regarding the environment and management policies. This review mentions being woken up by roosters in the morning and kept awake by geese at night, which could impact the tranquility of your stay if you are sensitive to noise. Additionally, the reviewer describes a stale pond smell and the need to clean up goose droppings if staying near the pond, indicating potential issues with wildlife management and cleanliness in certain areas of the campground.
The same negative review also outlines a specific policy regarding long-term stays. It states that there is a two-week decision period before being required to sign a two-month agreement. Furthermore, it claims that if you decide not to stay after the initial payment of $1100, this amount will serve as payment for the two weeks, with no refund provided. This policy, if accurate, is crucial to understand before committing to a stay at Dixieland Campground. It is highly recommended to clarify the terms and conditions of both short-term and long-term stays directly with the owners to avoid any misunderstandings.
In summary, Dixieland Campground offers a potentially affordable camping option in a gated area with a fishing pond and friendly owners. The monthly rates appear to be competitive, making it an attractive choice for longer stays. However, prospective campers should be aware of the concerns raised in one review regarding noise from animals, potential cleanliness issues near the pond, and a specific policy regarding long-term commitments and non-refundable initial payments. It is strongly advised to contact the owners directly at (270) 305-3953 or +1 270-305-3953 to inquire about current rates, availability, specific amenities, and to clarify their policies regarding reservations and refunds. Visiting the campground in person, if feasible, could also provide a clearer understanding of the environment and conditions before making a decision. By carefully considering all available information and contacting the campground directly, local users can make an informed choice about whether Dixieland Campground meets their specific needs and expectations for a "camping near me" experience.

Dixieland Campground Reviews
Owners are friendly for the money but that’s where it stops. Make sure you want roosters waking you up in the morning and geese keeping you up at night. If you’re staying by the pond prepare yourself to clean up the goose droppings at your doorstep and the stale pond smell. You have 2 weeks to decide if you wish to stay before you sign a 2 month agreement AND if you don’t stay the 1100 you gave him at the beginning will take place of the 2 weeks if you decide not to stay. No money returned. Laundry room is filthy with dryers that are as money hungry as the owner. As for the washers, your clothes were cleaner before you used them.
Apr 24, 2025 · andrea leeThe campground is a quiet and gated area with a pond for fishing. The owner has helped me with small maintenance issues. You can't beat the monthly rate!
Apr 26, 2025 · Lestine HensleyMy wife and I have camped all over Tennessee, Florida and the up the East Coast as far as Pennsylvania. This campground is a gem and the top of our favorite campground list. This is a private gated RV campground on a working farm. The sites are full hook up with plenty of room between RV’s. The views are beautiful with wildlife. The 5 ducks and goose were awesome. And live on the ponds on the farm. Andy, the owner is awesome. He is always asking tenants how things are going to make sure everyone is satisfied. He is always upgrading the property. We stayed there from January 11th 2023 to April 9th 2023. Its a little drive out to the campground but the views driving out are gorgeous and your not far from the Mennonites whose products they sell are fresh, super good and cheap. We are gonna miss that. Your also not far from Hopkinsville Ky, Clarksville Tn or Ft Campbell Ky. We highly recommend this campground and if we are ever back in the area we will stay again. Thanks Andy!
Apr 17, 2023 · John and Lorna MansfieldAndy is seriously the best host! He is the owner & also lives on the property. He is so helpful & just a great southern guy with such hospitality! The space is great! Has everything you need. It’s quiet & the spots have little privacy fences! There’s also a pond! We will be back! This is our new favorite hidden gem!
