For local users searching for "camping near me," East Mullett Campground stands out as a destination that prioritizes peace and quiet. Several reviews highlight the campground's ability to provide a very private and quiet atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One camper who enjoyed a four-day stay over the 4th of July specifically praised the privacy offered by the RV campsite.
The campground boasts well-maintained amenities, with "very clean bathrooms & showers" being a recurring positive comment in the reviews. This attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall comfort and satisfaction of campers, ensuring a pleasant and hygienic experience during their stay.
One of the notable features of East Mullett Campground is its first-come, first-served policy, eliminating the need for reservations. This can be particularly appealing for spontaneous travelers or those with flexible schedules. Furthermore, the pricing mentioned in one review, $25 a night for a 30ft camper with full hookup, suggests that the campground offers an affordable option for RV enthusiasts.
Beyond the campground itself, its location offers convenient access to a variety of attractions. Situated near "great towns" and "historical sites," campers have ample opportunities for exploration and day trips. The proximity to the Upper Peninsula is also highlighted as a significant advantage, opening up a wealth of natural beauty and recreational activities for those willing to venture a bit further north.
While many aspects of East Mullett Campground receive positive feedback, some reviews point out areas where experiences may vary. One review mentions a "nasty owner" and suggests that the campground might be "overpriced" for some. This review also notes that not every site is equipped with a fire pit or picnic table, which could be a consideration for campers planning to utilize these amenities.
In contrast, another reviewer shared a positive interaction with the manager, Katie, who was described as "incredibly nice and friendly." This review recounts an instance where Katie went above and beyond by offering to build a fire pit for a group and providing an extra picnic table, demonstrating a willingness to accommodate guests. However, this reviewer also noted that the campground was "virtually empty" at the time, which might have facilitated such personalized service.
Another review raises concerns about pricing inconsistencies and communication. This camper reported being quoted different rates for children and pup tents by the owner and described the communication with staff as "unacceptable." Such feedback suggests that potential campers might want to clarify pricing policies and expectations before their arrival.
Considering the available information, East Mullett Campground presents itself as a potentially peaceful and affordable camping option, particularly for those seeking a private setting and clean facilities. Its location near various towns and the Upper Peninsula adds to its appeal for those interested in exploring the surrounding area. However, it's important for prospective campers to be aware of the varying experiences reported in the reviews, particularly regarding site amenities and pricing policies. Direct communication with the campground management may be beneficial to clarify any specific needs or concerns before planning a visit.
For local users browsing "camping near me," East Mullett Campground offers a blend of natural tranquility and convenient access to regional attractions. While some aspects, such as the availability of fire pits and picnic tables at every site, might vary, the overall sentiment from some visitors emphasizes the quiet and private nature of the campground. The affordability, especially for RVers seeking full hookups, also makes it a competitive option in the local camping landscape.
To make the most informed decision, local campers are encouraged to contact East Mullett Campground directly at (231) 238-9805 or +1 231-238-9805 to inquire about site availability, specific amenities at individual sites, and current pricing policies. This direct communication will help ensure that the campground meets their expectations for a relaxing and enjoyable camping experience in the Indian River area.

East Mullett Campground Reviews
We had a wonderful time for our 4th Of July 4 day stay at this RV campsite. If you want a very private and quite time, this is absolutely the place you need to come. Very clean bathrooms & showers. The people were very friendly😀🇺🇸👍. No need for reservations because first come means first served and for $25 a night for my 30ft camper with full hookup is an amazing deal. It’s located and surrounded by great towns, historical sites and our best choice was being near to the Upper Penisula🤩. I recommend this campsite and planning to come back when we are always in this area!!!👍
Jul 09, 2019 · Rachel Santos-LopezNasty owner. Overpriced. Not every site has a fire pit or picnic table. The manager, Katie, was incredibly nice and friendly. She even offered to build a fire pit for our group of five sites (9 adults, 7 children). Katie also brought us an additional 1 1/2 picnic table to add to our 1 picnic tables. It was a virtually empty campground. There were no tables more to spare. The guests who came on Friday (we checked in Thursday) didn’t have the privilege of a picnic table..The owner wanted to charge 5$ extra per child per night, and 25$ extra per child’s pup tent on site per night. Two days later, she quoted only $5 per child AFTER two children, but later contradicted herself and tried to again charge per child per night. I was told by the owner if I didn’t like it, I could leave.Unfortunately, the communication the owner has with staff is unacceptable.
