Twin Lakes State Forest Campground Reviews
Nice quiet campground with only 11 sites. Most of the sites are wooded and good-sized for tents or small trailers. No waterfront sites. Pit toilets were well maintained. The boat launch is a 'carry-in' launch and requires you to carry your boat down a set of 10-15 stairs to get to the water. Lake is calm and protected, perfect for kayaking and canoeing. Plenty of fish to catch. Lots of loons call this lake home, it was nice to wake up to their song each morning.
Aug 21, 2023 · Alyssa BattleThis is a Wooded Rustic small State Forrest Campground. Situated on Twin Lakes. Clean small series of Rustic lakes divided by islands and points. Few people know this Gem. Often we've had it to ourselves. No beach, but a dock. Great kayaking, fishing and boating, No Wake. Boat Ramp is a couple miles from the campground. Hand pump well, clean outhouses.
Apr 25, 2019 · S. DurfeeThe first night some a hole ran a generator from 10:30 pm until 11:00 am. The ranger had a talk with him and the next night was quiet.
Jul 13, 2022 · Chris BoetA lot of people mentioned what a peaceful and quiet place this is to camp and kayak, which is very true. Twin Lakes no wake wildfowl sanctuary is a perfectly peaceful way to spend a lazy day in your canoe or kayak. But no one mentioned the great hiking just down the road. Turn left on the main road (I think it's Twin Lakes Road if memory serves) and take it to the trail head which is just before the road turns to the left. You will find miles and miles of well marked hiking trails. 🚶♀️ A lovely way to spend the day.
Oct 18, 2022 · Allison CareyTruly unique kayak adventure, we saw two mature loons and two juvenile loons. Calm, peaceful and soul cleansing experience on a lake with many bays and coves to explore.
