Echota Village Store & RV Park, nestled at 16315 OK-10, Tahlequah, OK 74464, USA, offers a unique camping experience in the heart of Oklahoma. Conveniently located, this campground provides easy access to the scenic Illinois River and surrounding natural beauty. You can reach them at (918) 316-5049 or their mobile number, +1 918-316-5049, for inquiries and reservations.
Echota Village Store & RV Park caters to a variety of camping needs, whether you're looking for a simple overnight stop or a basecamp for exploring the region. While it may differ from the expansive and amenity-rich state and national parks, it offers a practical and welcoming environment for travelers. Based on customer feedback, the campground prioritizes a quiet and respectful atmosphere, making it particularly suitable for families seeking a peaceful getaway.
Let's delve deeper into what Echota Village Store & RV Park has to offer. Situated in a beautiful section of the Illinois River, the location itself is a significant draw for outdoor enthusiasts. While one past guest noted that the river shuttle and float services previously offered are no longer available at this specific location, its proximity to other outfitters and access points ensures that opportunities for enjoying the river remain within easy reach. This allows you to still partake in the popular activity of floating down one of Oklahoma's most picturesque waterways.
Customer reviews highlight the friendly and helpful nature of the staff. One visitor enthusiastically shared their positive experience, praising the team for being "super friendly" and the grounds for being "well kept." This emphasis on hospitality can significantly enhance your camping experience, providing assistance and creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout your stay. Another reviewer specifically mentioned Riley, the driver for drop-off and pick-up for floats (presumably arranged through a nearby service), who was described as "so fun and nice," further underscoring the positive interactions with the staff.
In terms of the physical environment, some aspects are worth noting. One reviewer, accustomed to state and national parks, pointed out that the campsites are quite close together, with parking space primarily accommodating the camper and vehicle. Identifying specific spots at night might be a bit challenging due to the close proximity and potentially less visible markers. Additionally, amenities such as individual picnic tables and fire rings at each site may not be standard here. Therefore, if you prioritize spacious, individual sites with dedicated amenities, it's wise to manage your expectations accordingly. However, for those primarily seeking a convenient place to park, sleep, and access facilities, Echota Village Store & RV Park serves its purpose well.
On the positive side, a recurring theme in the reviews is the cleanliness of the bathroom facilities. This is a crucial aspect for any camper, and the positive feedback suggests that Echota Village Store & RV Park maintains a good standard of hygiene in this regard. This attention to cleanliness contributes to a more comfortable and pleasant stay for all guests.
The overall atmosphere of the campground appears to be family-oriented and respectful. Guests have noted the quiet ambiance, contrasting it with potentially livelier environments found elsewhere. This makes Echota Village Store & RV Park an appealing option for those seeking a more tranquil and relaxed camping experience, where consideration for fellow campers is valued.
Considering the category "camping near me" and the services or goods one might seek, Echota Village Store & RV Park, despite the discontinued shuttle service, still positions itself as a conveniently located base for exploring the natural attractions around Tahlequah, particularly the Illinois River. While the campground itself may focus on providing essential facilities for parking, sleeping, and hygiene, its proximity to the river and the positive interactions with the staff remain significant advantages.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that offers a no-fuss, friendly environment close to outdoor activities, Echota Village Store & RV Park presents a viable option. While it might not offer the extensive amenities of larger parks, its clean facilities and welcoming staff provide a solid foundation for a camping trip focused on enjoying the surrounding area. Remember to contact them directly at (918) 316-5049 or +1 918-316-5049 for the most up-to-date information on services and availability.
In summary, Echota Village Store & RV Park offers a practical camping solution for those looking to explore the Tahlequah area and enjoy the Illinois River. Its strengths lie in its friendly staff, clean bathroom facilities, and a generally quiet and respectful atmosphere. While the campsites are close together and some amenities might be limited compared to larger parks, its convenience and positive customer service make it a worthwhile consideration for your next camping adventure near you.

Echota Village Store & RV Park Reviews
So let me just start that we are used to staying at state/national parks. When we pulled in, it was late and dark. The spots are hard to identify at night because they are literally side by side and the arrow isn't easy visible. We we thinking there would be individual picnic tables and maybe a fire ring but there was barely enough space for camper and vehicle. So if you're just looking for a place to park and sleep this place is fine. If you're looking for a more state park vibe, this isn't it. Also, we had already booked and then found out they don't offer river shuttles or floats anymore. Still close enough to other places so not that big of a deal, except we booked it because of that. Positives is that the bathroom was pretty clean. Everyone was quiet and respectful, definitely more family focused versus down the road. So overall if you're looking for an easy place to pull in and shower and sleep this place is fine.
May 27, 2024 · Tiffany HerreraAmazing place! The staff was super friendly, the grounds are well kept, and it was one of the most beautiful sections of the river to float! Riley was our driver to drop us off to float and picked us up when we were done, and he was so fun and nice! They don’t bog you down with rules and regulations, and just support you having a fun safe time on the river. We will definitely be staying here again!
Sep 23, 2023 · Lawrence DePriestWent floating here and we had a great time. Takes a little while getting the check in for the rafts, but we had a great experience. Be sure they tell you where their pickup is because i had to ask, so if it's your first time, you might not know what to expect. They're really helpful with loading all your gear and getting you set up for the float trip. The workers are super friendly, so that's a plus.
Aug 07, 2023 · Lynzi SmithThis people is so friendly and make you feel like family. Ben is wonderful person and cares about people, Something we have lost with all outfitters now in the Illinois river, they don’t care no more and people with their own kayak are not welcome. If you ever plan to visit the Illinois river, this is the place to go and have an amazing experience. The camping grounds are great and nice space between them, restrooms are clean and nice hot showers. Thank you Ben for open your doors to Steve’s Adventures and friends.
Oct 22, 2023 · steve.adventuresWe were in site #6, felt like a sardine crammed in a can, we could not even let our awning all the way out without hitting the top of the camper in site #5, the sewer was too far back for us to hook up and it was to high for drainage too, so we had to dump, we had no picnic table and there was no grill, had to go down the way to use someone elses. We barely had room to set lawn chairs, we have camped here before all the new renovations and we were not cramped, you have no privacy being so close together, the plus side was the person in the office was very friendly and the 2 guys that drove us to the float site. We will definitely pick different sites to set up in on our next visit and hopefully someone listens and fixes the sewer hookups!Happy Camping Ya'll
