Seeking a "camping near me" experience that offers more than just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent? Consider Exit 222 Campgrounds, located at 9275 W Branch Rd, St Helen, MI 48656, USA. You can reach them at (248) 408-2978 or their mobile number +1 248-408-2978 for inquiries and bookings. Situated in St Helen, Michigan, Exit 222 Campgrounds appears to be an emerging location that caters particularly to those interested in off-road vehicle activities, while also providing a place to stay and "just hang out," according to recent customer feedback.
As a listing in the "camping near me" category, Exit 222 Campgrounds offers a unique environment, especially for outdoor enthusiasts looking for direct access to trails. One reviewer highlighted that trails for side-by-sides (SXS), dirt bikes, and trucks are located within minutes of the campground's front gate. This positions Exit 222 Campgrounds as an ideal basecamp for those planning to explore the off-road opportunities in the St Helen area. The environment, therefore, is geared towards adventure and outdoor recreation, particularly motorized trail activities.
In terms of services and features, the reviews provide some insights, although the campground is described as a "newer location still being developed." One crucial piece of information is regarding the water supply. Currently, the campground relies on a hand pump for water, so the reviewer strongly advises filling up your water tank before arrival. This is an important practical consideration for anyone planning to stay at Exit 222 Campgrounds. Despite this current limitation, the campground does offer 30 amp and 50 amp power connections, which are essential for many RV setups. This indicates that while some infrastructure is still in progress, basic utilities for RVs are available.
One reviewer shared a positive experience regarding the service, mentioning a person named Pat who went above and beyond to help them when they arrived late without having filled their water tank. Pat provided a portable water bladder, ensuring the camper had water for the night. This suggests a level of helpfulness and customer care, even amidst ongoing development. The reviewer, who was traveling in a 40-foot RV, also noted that they fit fine at the location, which is useful information for those with larger rigs.
It's important to note that one of the provided snippets mentions someone who "Didn't go to the campground" but instead went to the "trailer parking west if the off ramp" to ride trails with friends. While this doesn't directly review the campground itself, it does further emphasize the proximity of the location to off-road trails, which seems to be a key feature of the area around Exit 222.
For local users seeking "camping near me" with a focus on direct access to off-road trails for SXS, dirt bikes, and trucks, Exit 222 Campgrounds appears to be a promising option. The availability of 30 amp and 50 amp power is a significant plus for RVers. However, it's crucial to be aware of the current water situation and plan accordingly by filling your tank before arriving. The positive anecdote about the staff being helpful suggests that despite being a developing location, they are attentive to the needs of their guests.
Considering that Exit 222 Campgrounds is still under development, it's reasonable to expect that more amenities and services may be added over time. For now, its primary draw seems to be its strategic location for accessing nearby off-road trails and the availability of power hookups for RVs. If your camping plans involve hitting the trails in your off-road vehicle and you need a place to stay with power, Exit 222 Campgrounds could be a convenient choice in the St Helen area.
In conclusion, Exit 222 Campgrounds offers a unique "camping near me" experience for those interested in off-road adventures in St Helen, MI. Its key features include immediate access to trails for SXS, dirt bikes, and trucks, as well as 30 amp and 50 amp power connections. Currently, water is available via a hand pump, so arriving with a full tank is recommended. Despite being a developing location, the positive feedback regarding helpful staff suggests a commitment to guest satisfaction. If you're a local off-road enthusiast looking for a convenient place to camp near the trails, Exit 222 Campgrounds is worth checking out. Contact them at (248) 408-2978 or +1 248-408-2978 for the latest information and to book your stay.

Exit 222 Campgrounds Reviews
Great place to stay and just hang out. Only thing to note, this is a newer location still being developed so they only have a hand pump for water so fill up your tank before arrival. Granted I didn’t and showing up at almost midnight, Pat saved me with a portable water bladder so I could have water that night instead of going back out with the camper. I’m 40’ and fit fine. Ignore what you hear and try them out. I will be back for sure. 30 amp and 50 amp power connections available. Trails for sxs, dirt bikes and trucks are within minutes of the front gate.
