Falls Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" and dreaming of a picturesque escape into the Wyoming wilderness? Falls Campground, located near Dubois, offers a unique camping experience with stunning natural features and essential amenities. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground boasts beautiful campsites, access to a waterfall, and a serene environment surrounded by nature. However, it's crucial to note that as of the latest information, Falls Campground is currently closed due to the Fish Creek fire. Please verify its reopening status before planning your visit.
Currently Closed Due to Fish Creek Fire
The most critical piece of information regarding Falls Campground is that it is currently closed due to the Fish Creek fire. This is a significant factor to consider, and potential visitors should be aware of this closure and actively seek updates on when the campground is expected to reopen. While the reviews highlight the campground's many positive attributes, access is currently restricted for safety reasons.
Great Campsites with Unique Features
Despite the current closure, the customer feedback paints a picture of a campground with excellent campsites. Notably, specific campsites offer unique advantages. Campsite A is equipped with power hookups, making it suitable for RVers or campers who require electricity. Campsite B boasts the remarkable feature of being located near a waterfall, offering a truly spectacular and tranquil camping experience with the soothing sounds of cascading water. The availability of both powered and non-powered sites caters to a range of camping preferences.
Access to Drinking Water
A practical and essential amenity at Falls Campground is the availability of "good" drinking water. This is a significant convenience for campers, reducing the need to carry large quantities of water. However, it's important to note that while drinking water is available, the campground does not offer an RV fill station. RV travelers needing to replenish their water tanks will need to do so before arriving at the campground.
Affordable Camping in a Gorgeous Setting
One reviewer highlighted the affordability of Falls Campground, mentioning a cost of $15 for a non-hookup site and $20 for a hookup site (based on information from July 2020). These prices suggest a budget-friendly option for experiencing the beauty of the area. The fact that even on a Monday night in July, there were "plenty of spots" available indicates that it might be possible to find a site without advance booking, although availability can vary depending on the time of year and any reopening conditions.
Spacious Sites and Privacy
Guests have appreciated the spaciousness of the campsites, noting that they could "barely see our neighbors." This sense of privacy enhances the feeling of being immersed in nature and allows for a more secluded and peaceful camping experience. The generous spacing between sites contributes to a more enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Convenient Access to the Falls
A significant draw of Falls Campground is the ability to "bike to the falls." This suggests that the campground is located within easy access of a waterfall, likely the namesake of the campground. The opportunity to hike or bike to a scenic waterfall adds a fantastic recreational element to a stay at Falls Campground, allowing visitors to witness the natural beauty of the area up close.
Essential Amenities: Water Pump, Bear Boxes, and Pit Toilets
Falls Campground provides essential amenities to ensure a comfortable and safe stay. A water pump is available at the entrance for accessing the drinking water. Bear boxes are provided, which are crucial for safe food storage in bear country, ensuring the safety of both campers and wildlife. Clean pit toilets are also available, offering a basic but necessary sanitation facility.
Natural Beauty and Wildlife Encounters
The natural environment surrounding Falls Campground is highly praised, with mentions of a "beautiful sky, little trails, huge trees, and animals!" Campers can expect to be surrounded by the stunning scenery of Wyoming, with opportunities for short hikes on the "little trails." The presence of "huge trees" suggests a shaded and picturesque setting. Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the abundance of "ground squirrels and birds," although one reviewer humorously noted that the birds "will try to steal your breakfast," a common occurrence in natural areas, reminding campers to secure their food.

Falls Campground Reviews
Campsite is currently closed due to the Fish Creek fire.Great sites!Campsite A has power, Campsite B has a waterfall.Drinking water is good! No RV fill.
Sep 10, 2024 · John LambertWow this was great. We got here on a Monday night, at 10 pm (July 21, 2020) and there were plenty of spots, and they were all gorgeous. We could barely see our neighbors, and were able to bike to the falls. $15 for no hookup, $20 for hookup. There was only one water pump we saw at the entrance, bear boxes and clean pit toilets.Beautiful sky, little trails, huge trees, and animals! Lots of ground squirrels and birds (who will try to steal your breakfast)
Aug 01, 2020 · brittany barnettThis campground was wonderful. It was tucked in the Shoshone Forest, with some gorgeous mountains in the background. There were some nice trails attached to it too, with scenic outlooks and a beautiful waterfall. The campground itself was quiet and clean. The bathrooms were spotless. It was a little less than an hour from the Tetons and Jackson area, and a little over an hour to Yellowstone, which was perfect for day trips to explore those areas. We absolutely loved our week camping here.
Aug 22, 2020 · Rachael BilykThis beautiful falls was quite a surprise. We expected to see something off the beaten path, which we seek out while traveling. The campground and falls was amazing. We did not stay in the campground, we just passed through. The trail back to the falls is easy and beautiful. The falls, I would rate as much prettier than the Hidden Falls in Grand Teton National park, and much easier to get to. We were there in September and there was only one other car in the falls parking lot. Awesome!
Feb 14, 2022 · Julie BukerLovely campground at about 8350' elevation. Low temps can be in the 30s or 40s even in summer. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Notes for tent campers and lovers of peace and quiet: Loop A has electrical hookups for RVs, which means no generators, so we stayed there. Loop B does not, so you might have to listen to loud generators running, although I believe they are supposed to stop at 10 pm. That said, Loop B is more spread out, is farther from the highway, had more space when we were there, and is closer to the short trail to the falls.
