The environment surrounding Falls Campground is a significant highlight, described as "pretty" and "gorgeous" by delighted campers. Nestled within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, visitors can expect to be immersed in the natural beauty of Idaho, characterized by potentially dense forests, clear mountain air, and the serene sounds of the nearby river and waterfall. One of the most prominent features is the campground's close proximity to a waterfall, described as "not even a five minute walk from the campsite." This easy access to a breathtaking waterfall is a major draw, offering stunning scenery and a fantastic opportunity for short, picturesque excursions right from the campground. The presence of "big and beautiful trees all around" further enhances the aesthetic appeal, providing shade and creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. Moreover, the area is rich in wildlife, with visitors reporting sightings of "sand hill cranes, moose, cows and bald eagles," offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature photography. The campground's location near the river also adds to the natural ambiance, although campers are advised to exercise caution due to the "pretty fast moving" water and "a lot eddy currents." In terms of services, Falls Campground offers essential amenities to support a comfortable camping experience without being overly developed. Reviews indicate the availability of "water from a tap" and "bathrooms," providing basic necessities for hygiene and hydration. The campground welcomes dogs, making it a pet-friendly option for local users who enjoy bringing their furry companions along, with the requirement that they are kept leashed for safety and the consideration of other campers and wildlife. The lack of extensive amenities suggests a more rustic camping experience, appealing to those who prioritize immersion in nature and self-sufficiency. The "ton of space for campers and tents" is a significant service in itself, ensuring that even during potentially busy periods, there is room to comfortably set up camp. While specific details about the types of bathrooms (e.g., vault toilets or flush toilets) and the availability of other services like fire rings or picnic tables are not explicitly mentioned, the overall impression is of a well-maintained basic campground focused on providing access to the surrounding natural attractions.
The features of Falls Campground are strongly linked to its prime location and the natural attractions it offers. The immediate proximity to a "gorgeous campground right near the falls" is arguably its most significant feature, providing an unparalleled opportunity to experience a stunning waterfall with minimal effort. The easy accessibility of the falls, just a short walk from the campsites, makes it a highlight for all visitors. This proximity allows campers to conveniently access these trails and enjoy thrilling outdoor activities during their stay. The abundant wildlife in the area, including the chance to see sand hill cranes, moose, and bald eagles, adds a unique and memorable element to the camping experience, particularly for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers. Falls Campground Reviews
Not a bad campground, our family rents it out every year. Near a lot of dirt bike and four wheeling trails. Also decently close to the falls. There’s not many amenities aside from water from a tap and bathrooms but aside from that there’s a ton of space for campers and tents. Dogs are welcome you just have to keep them leashed. It’s a pretty area though, lots of wild life, we’ve seen sand hill cranes, moose, cows and bald eagles. Just be careful near the river, its pretty fast moving and there’s a lot eddy currents in the river
Jul 05, 2024 · LexGorgeous campground right near the falls! This is the place to camp! Beautiful scenery, big and beautiful trees all around! And the best part is the waterfalls that’s not even a five minute walk from the campsite. Highly recommend this is my favorite campground in Idaho!
Sep 28, 2023 · Aaliyah JohnsonBeautiful spot, plenty of room for everyone in our party. We especially loved everyone could have time with their individual family yet all come together at meals. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful, they do a fantastic job communicating and keeping things clean. We will definitely be staying here again.
Sep 25, 2020 · Corrie DashnawWhat a fun campsite! The food prep table was incredible, and I loved all of the little hideouts the kids found. We had a group of 70 people there, and we had plenty of space for our camper trailers and our tents and still had room for volleyball, 9 square course, and a bouncy obstacle course, as well as a covered area for chilling in our camp chairs. It is also fairly close to a beautiful waterfall for anyone who’s especially adventurous. I would highly recommend
Aug 16, 2021 · Mills HarrisonThis place was great! It was all we needed for a simple and fun camping experience. Our site was right next to the Snake River, and we saw two moose while we were there! The campsites are clean and spacious, and the falls and surrounding area are gorgeous! It's also less than an hour from Idaho Falls. I would definitely recommend it.
