Family Cabins Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" that combines the comfort of a modern cabin with access to outdoor activities? Family Cabins, located at 106 Stone Lodge Rd, New Alexandria, PA 15670, USA, appears to offer just that. While the name itself suggests a family-friendly environment, reviews from recent visitors highlight comfortable modern cabin accommodations and access to appealing natural features and amenities, making it a strong contender for your next local getaway.
One of the standout features of the location associated with Family Cabins is the presence of a "nice 2.2 mile trail around the lake with a few other trails." This indicates that guests staying in the cabins will have ample opportunities for walking, hiking, and enjoying the natural surroundings. Lakeside trails often offer scenic views and a chance to observe local wildlife, making it an ideal activity for individuals, couples, and families alike. For those who prioritize access to walking and hiking trails when searching for "camping near me," Family Cabins provides a significant advantage.
The reviews also mention "great fishing and birdwatching." This suggests that the lake associated with Family Cabins is a suitable habitat for fish, offering a relaxing and potentially rewarding activity for anglers. The combination of lake activities and wildlife observation enhances the appeal of this location for nature lovers seeking "camping near me."
For environmentally conscious travelers, or those who own electric vehicles, Family Cabins offers a notable amenity: a level 2 J1772 charger located at the boat launch. This confirms that the accommodations offered by Family Cabins are comfortable and well-appointed, providing a step up from traditional tent camping. Modern cabins often include amenities such as comfortable beds, climate control, kitchenettes, and private bathrooms, offering a blend of outdoor immersion and home-like comfort. This is particularly appealing for those who enjoy the idea of camping but prefer more substantial shelter and amenities.
Another reviewer who loves camping at this location mentioned that even when their truck needed repair and they couldn't haul their camper, the "cabins and yurts are great!" This not only reinforces the positive impression of the cabins but also indicates that Family Cabins might offer yurts as an alternative accommodation option. Yurts provide a unique and often more spacious camping experience compared to traditional tents, while still offering a connection to the outdoors. The availability of both cabins and yurts broadens the appeal of this location to different types of campers seeking "camping near me."

Oct 16, 2024 · Extreme CowgirlWe've taken the dog and grandkids and had a great time at Keystone! Bring food before the summer months, as the concession stand wasn't open until late May or Early June. When the weather is good, it gets crowded, but the staff handles it well, and most people are friendly.
Apr 24, 2023 · Shari MorrisOur family has rented 2 cabins at Keystone Lake every year for the past 7 or 8 years for our annual family get together - Even during the modified Covid accommodations. We were open to changes requested of us when one of our cabins was closed for an infestation issue in (I think it was) 2021. Un the past, we enjoyed the clean cabins and proximity to nature (including an abundance of poison ivy and invasive raccoons). However, this year, we were harassed during our stay. The rangers complained we has too many cars parked near the cabins, and we complied when we understood where we were to move the extra vehicles ( though our cars were not an issue in previous years, were not parked on any grass, nor were they blocking any access of the roadways.) We then were visited because of a "noise complsont" though we were quiet. (Many of us have small children who were asleep. Nobody wants to wake a sleeping baby!) The rangers threatened to "evict" us if they "have to come by our cabins again. Then they "randomly" patrolled no less than 4 additional times - Scoping out only OUR cabins and not stopping to complain about our neighbors' abundant cars - many parked on the grass. (We didn't wish the neighbors any ill, though, and certainly didn't complain or point out the inconsistency to our zealous rule enforcers ) The ranger even sat at the bottom of the drive, just staring at our cabins and our kids playing - which was quite uncomfortable, indeed. We felt SINGLED OUT.Lest you think we're a family of miscreants, I will point out we are a group of responsible, rule-abiding adults (including our 76 year old head of family and her 86 year old aunt) with respectful, controlled kids.Needless to say, we will move our family outing to another, more accommodating location from this point on. So long, Keystone. It's a shame your rangers were so prejudiced against us.
Sep 06, 2023 · Kerry E.B. BlackNice but missing a wood-burning fireplace inside the cabin. Big bummer for us. Also, no dishes, utensils, cutting boards, dish soap, cooking pots/pans, toaster, or even cloth hangers! You really have to bring everything with you! The kitchen countertop is way too small and it gets really awkward when cooking. We were happy that bath tissue was provided.😜
