The provided customer reviews offer a glimpse into the environment, services, and features of this campground, highlighting both its strengths in customer service and areas where improvements may be needed. By objectively analyzing these reviews, we can provide a detailed introduction for local users considering a stay.
New Alexandria, Pennsylvania, is situated in a region known for its rural charm and proximity to outdoor recreational areas. Miller's Campground, being located here, likely benefits from a peaceful and potentially scenic environment. One review describes it as a "nice, quiet little campground," suggesting a setting that prioritizes tranquility and a more intimate camping experience compared to larger, more bustling campgrounds. The mention of a "family owned vibe" further implies a personal touch and a potentially close-knit community atmosphere within the campground.
The services and features at Miller's Campground, as indicated by the customer reviews, include:
- Helpful and Attentive Owner: A significant highlight is the exceptional customer service provided by the owner, Ron. One reviewer recounts proactive communication, a personal greeting upon arrival, and even the unique service of picking up and returning propane tanks for refills. This level of personalized attention suggests a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Propane Refill Service: The specific mention of propane tank pickup and refill is a notable convenience for campers who rely on propane for cooking, heating, or other needs. This service goes above and beyond what is typically offered at many campgrounds.
- Potential for Long-Term Stays: The reference to a family having been in their lot since 1975 indicates that Miller's Campground accommodates long-term or seasonal campers, fostering a sense of community among those who stay for extended periods.
- Established Campground with History: The mention of childhood memories and long-term residents suggests that Miller's Campground has been a part of the local community for many years, potentially creating a nostalgic and familiar atmosphere for returning visitors.
However, it is crucial to also consider the concerns raised in another review, which provides a more critical perspective on the campground's upkeep and management of long-term residents. These points include:
- Perceived Mistreatment of Long-Term Residents: The reviewer who has been on their lot since 1975 expresses feelings of being "mistreated overall," indicating potential issues in how long-term campers are being treated by the management. This is a significant point for local users considering an extended stay.
- Unaddressed Maintenance Issues: Several specific maintenance concerns are mentioned, including a tree that was supposed to be taken down two years prior still standing, and the development of "big ditches" on the side of a property after a new campsite was installed, creating a safety hazard. Additionally, a promised gravel fill for the main parking spot from three years ago had not been completed.
- Communication Issues: The reviewer expressing these concerns hopes to improve communication and see promised actions taken, suggesting a potential disconnect between management promises and actual follow-through.
The inclusion of a shrug emoji ("🤷") in one of the reviews might indicate a sense of resignation or unresolved issues. The sentiment of a childhood visitor hoping for the campground's positive aspects to continue suggests that while there were past positive experiences, there might be a perceived decline or areas needing attention.
For local users in the 'camping near me' category, Miller's Campground presents a mixed picture. On one hand, the positive review highlights exceptional customer service and a welcoming, family-owned atmosphere. The propane refill service is a significant convenience. On the other hand, the concerns raised by a long-term resident regarding maintenance, safety hazards, and communication are serious considerations, particularly for those contemplating a longer stay or who value consistent upkeep.

- Ask about the types of campsites available (tent, RV hookups), amenities offered (restrooms, showers, laundry, etc.), and any specific rules or regulations for campers.
- If considering a long-term stay, specifically inquire about the process, rates, and any commitments or expectations for long-term residents.
- For short-term stays, ask about site availability, pricing, and any amenities included.
The contrasting reviews suggest that while Miller's Campground may offer a friendly and community-oriented environment with excellent customer service from the owner, potential campers should also be aware of the reported maintenance issues and the concerns raised by a long-term resident. It is essential for local users to conduct their own due diligence to determine if Miller's Campground aligns with their expectations for a 'camping near me' experience.
In conclusion, Miller's Campground near New Alexandria, PA, offers the appeal of a family-owned campground with a focus on helpful customer service, including unique offerings like propane refill. However, potential local users should also be aware of reported issues concerning maintenance, safety, and the treatment of long-term residents. Direct communication with the campground management is highly recommended to gain a current and complete understanding before making a decision to stay.

Miller's Campground Reviews
Such a nice, quiet little campground. The owner, Ron, was beyond helpful. He messaged back and forth with my husband throughout our trip. He greeted us when we arrived. He came and PICKED UP our propane tanks to fill and returned them. Definitely has the family owned vide, with great customer service. We had last minute change of plans and he was very helpful at working everything out.
Mar 04, 2022 · Kassie HearnI have to update for the fact of treating those who have been here forever not good...we have been in our lot since 1975... My grandparents parked here after their trip to Alaska.Mistreated overall.Tree that were supposed to be taken down is still up (2 years ago). A new camp was put in and now there are big ditches on the side of our property (should have been filled or leveled in). Very dangerous. I could easily twist an ankle. Also, was supposed to get gravel in the main parking spot (3 years ago).🤷I am writing this to hopefully help with communication and for those things that were said would be done to be done. This all may just be a big misunderstanding and a huge communication issue. Let's get this right💚I loved coming here as a child, all the parties, kids, campfires and excitement. I hope this can continue🙏
