This campground appears to excel in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all types of campers, whether you prefer tent camping or the comfort of a cabin.
One enthusiastic reviewer described their experience as "awesome," highlighting several positive aspects. They noted the campground as "lovely" with "great campsites" and "great facilities." However, the standout feature for this guest was the staff, whom they found to be "all wonderful." A specific commendation was given to a staff member named Barry, who was described as "super kind and helpful" and going "above and beyond" to ensure that the guests, especially their son, had a memorable time. This level of exceptional customer service suggests that Family & Friends Campground truly lives up to its name by fostering a friendly and supportive environment.
Another reviewer who opted for the "large cabin" for their week's vacation also had a very positive experience, expressing that they "absolutely loved it." As someone who usually tent camps, they were "very pleased" with their first cabin rental experience at this location. This indicates that the cabins at Family & Friends Campground are well-regarded and provide a comfortable alternative to traditional camping.
This reviewer also mentioned the campground's location, noting that it is about 30 to 40 minutes from Portland. While they personally did not mind this distance, they felt it was worth mentioning for others who might consider it a bit far if proximity to Portland is a primary factor. For local users in the Standish area or those willing to travel a short distance from Portland for a quality camping experience, this location is still conveniently accessible.
The "incredibly friendly" staff was a recurring positive comment, with the second reviewer also emphasizing their welcoming demeanor. Additionally, they mentioned that "the lodge had a lot to offer," suggesting that there are common areas or amenities available for guests to enjoy. The overall consensus from this review was that staying at Family & Friends Campground was a "good decision," with even a teenager finding it enjoyable, which speaks to its appeal across different age groups.

- An exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, with specific praise for individuals like Barry.
- A welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for families and individuals alike.
- A lodge with various offerings for guests.
- A location in Standish, Maine, approximately 30-40 minutes from Portland.
To provide a more comprehensive introduction for local users, further details about the "great facilities" mentioned would be beneficial. This could include information on the cleanliness and availability of restrooms, showers, laundry, and any recreational amenities such as a playground, swimming area, or communal fire pits. Additionally, more specifics about the cabins, such as their sizes, amenities (e.g., kitchenettes, bathrooms), and configurations, would be helpful for those considering this lodging option.
The environment of the campground isn't explicitly described in terms of natural features, but the positive comments about it being "lovely" and having "great campsites" suggest a pleasant and well-kept outdoor setting. Standish, Maine, is located in Cumberland County and offers a mix of wooded areas and proximity to Sebago Lake, so campers might expect a scenic and potentially lake-adjacent environment. Local users familiar with the area can likely appreciate the natural beauty it has to offer.

Oct 14, 2024 · Amelia MuellerWe rented the large cabin for our weeks vacation and absolutely loved it. This was our first time in a cabin, we usually tent camp, but we were very pleased. The location is about 30 to 40 minutes from Portland which we didn't mind but wanted to mention as some people might find it a bit far.Staff was incredibly friendly and the lodge had a lot to offer. All in all staying here was a good decision, even my teenager enjoyed it. Would certainly recommend.
Jul 01, 2024 · Heather AndersonGreat place location for visiting the many things in the greater Portland area. Stayed Monday thru Friday in early in October. Obviously an older campground with new managers working to upgrade facilities. Winding hilly areas with well placed sites - not in a crowded row trailer park. Most sites were shaded, well graveled, and leveled. Seasonal sites provided for both individual RVs and family groups of 2-3 RVs. Managers friendly, helpful, and easily accessible.
Oct 06, 2024 · Nancy GrantI recently stayed at family and friends campground for 5 nights in a tent. I have nothing but good things to say about this campground. The management and customer service personnel were absolutely amazing. My mom came to visit our site for my birthday and they let her in for free. A few minutes after my mom arrived one of the owners/management team came down to our site with a couple of kids to give me a balloon and a few gifts to wish me a happy birthday. They periodically checked on us to see how our stay was. He was very friendly and kind. Everyone in the office was also very friendly and took care of us with a smile on their face. I highly recommend staying at this campground. WiFi was great. Our site was awesome. Great place to bring your dog and kids. Thank you family and friends for such a great experience.
Aug 25, 2024 · Jaimee GammonTook our family for quick getaway and rented the large cabin lodge for the Halloween activities/event weekend for the kids. Absolutely pleasant and well coordinated!
