- Sunny Sites with Wildlife: The campground is described as "sunny" and a place where there are "lots of deer wandering through the site." The open, sunny environment is perfect for enjoying the lake breeze and soaking up the Montana sunshine. The presence of deer adds a touch of nature and wildlife viewing right at your campsite.

The ability to "biked rounded the point" suggests scenic trails and opportunities to explore the peninsula's natural beauty.
- Proximity to Flathead Lake: The direct access to Flathead Lake allows for a variety of water-based activities and enjoyment of the lake's pristine environment.
Services and Amenities:
- Electrical Hookups: A notable amenity mentioned is that "Electrical was a nice bonus" at some sites. This is particularly beneficial for RV campers or those who rely on electricity for medical devices or charging electronics. The reviewer also noted that the "lovely breeze of the lake" often makes air conditioning unnecessary, highlighting the pleasant natural climate.

Important Considerations for Boaters on Flathead Lake (Based on Reviews):
While Finley Point Campground offers excellent boating facilities, one review provides important safety advice for navigating Flathead Lake:
- Unpredictable Lake Conditions: Campers with boats should be aware that "Polson Bay" (the bay near Polson) can become treacherous quickly. "Rogues up (3-5' waves) in about 20 minutes" highlights the rapid and potentially dangerous changes in lake conditions.
- Importance of Solid Slips: If arriving from the main lake, it is advised to have "a solid slip" due to the potential for sudden rough waters.
- Review Hourly NOAA Forecasts: The reviewer strongly recommends always reviewing the hourly NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) forecasts for Flathead Lake to stay informed about potential weather changes and lake conditions. This is crucial for safe boating.
- Alternative Docking Options in Rough Conditions: In case of full surf, "Kwatuknuk or City dock" are mentioned as good alternative docking options, suggesting that these locations might offer better protection from strong waves.
This detailed advice underscores the importance of respecting Flathead Lake's dynamic weather and being prepared for potentially rough waters, especially for those planning to boat extensively.

Finley Point Campground Reviews
Beautiful lake view from the upper campground, sunny and lots ofdeer wandering through the site. Electrical was a nice bonus but we didn’t need AC due to the lovely breeze of the lake. Biked rounded the point, swam and kayak. Polson only 20+km. Nice boat dock and day area. Also only 1 hr to Glacier. Recommend
Aug 21, 2024 · Peggy Abbott4 powered slips, can get in with my swing keel sloop.Do not trust Polson Bay. Rogues up (3-5' waves) in about 20 minutes, have a solid slip if coming from main lake, and always review hourly NOAA Forecasts on this lake if you want to stay out of the newspaper.Kwatuknuk or City dock good options in full surf.
Jan 14, 2025 · Craig “Captain Awesome” WalkerBeautiful setting with excellent views from the water sites.Sites offer no privacy and there is very little place to walk dogsRestrooms and campground are very clean however camphosts will not enforce the leash rule so dogs are running everywhere all the time.Access road is 4 miles long and the last two miles feel like 8 as the road is both rough and narrow plus there is no place to turn a 5th wheel around until you get to the campground. Watch out for the monster holes. Each site has power but no water so bring a jug.Day use and picnic area are right in the waterside campsites so its very loud during the daytime, very loud. The 4 rating is weighted heavily on the views and the daily deer. If the views did not exist the rating would be a 2.
May 20, 2023 · Scott & Marlys TaylorI can’t tell you how beautiful this place is, you just have to see it. Crystal clear water and air. If you are a rock hound it’s a cool place to explore as well. Never seen such shades of color in lake bed
Aug 26, 2024 · Sw1 MocoBoat camping was just the ticket for a perfect stay for us - the water is so incredibly beautiful here! I love the campground too. The staff were so kind to us and they keep the place really clean! There's a very cute little beach there and has soft pebbles to walk on. True, you might get a campground neighbor but its hard to beat sleeping on the water (boat campers) or so near it. Absolutely beautiful ♡
