Services and Amenities at a Motorized Campsite
As a "motorized campsite," Forbes #5 is likely equipped to accommodate both RVs and tents. Based on the general nature of such campsites and the review mentioning "plenty of room," you can anticipate certain services and amenities, although specific details are not provided in the prompt. Common offerings at motorized campsites often include:
- Spacious Campsites: Designed to accommodate larger vehicles like RVs, these sites typically offer ample space for parking and setting up camp. The review confirms the site is "fairly large."
- Tent Pads or Areas: In addition to RV parking, designated areas for pitching tents are usually available within the campsite. The review mentions "plenty of tent sites."
- Fire Rings or Grills: Essential for campfires and outdoor cooking, these are standard features at most campsites.
- Picnic Tables: Providing a convenient surface for meals and activities.
- Access to Water: Potable water sources are generally available within the campground, though not necessarily directly at each site.
- Waste Disposal: Centralized trash receptacles are typically provided for proper waste management.
- Restroom Facilities: While the level of facilities isn't specified, some form of restrooms, ranging from basic vault toilets to more developed flush toilets and potentially showers, might be available within the campground area (though possibly not directly at Campsite #5 itself).
It's important to note that "motorized campsites" don't always include full hookups (water, sewer, electricity) at every site. Given that reservations are made through PA DCNR, their official website or contact information would be the most reliable source for detailed information on the specific amenities offered at Forbes Motorized Campsite #5.
Features and Accessibility
One of the key features highlighted in the review is the campsite's convenience to trails and Laurel Highlands State Park. This suggests that Forbes Motorized Campsite #5 serves as an excellent access point for exploring the extensive network of hiking trails and the diverse attractions within the state park. This could include opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, scenic drives, and enjoying natural landmarks. The review also mentions that the campsite is "a bit close to the road," noting that it's only about 25 meters away and visible even with vegetation. This is a crucial piece of information for those seeking a secluded and deeply immersed natural camping experience. However, the reviewer also points out that the site is "fairly large," offering "plenty of room" and "plenty of tent sites," which could be a significant advantage for larger groups or those desiring more space within their campsite.
The need to "Reserve through PA DCNR" is a significant feature. This indicates that the campsite is managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and reservations are likely required through their official reservation system. This often ensures a structured and organized camping experience. Visiting the PA DCNR website (likely under their state parks or state forests section) will provide information on availability, pricing, rules, and the reservation process for Forbes Motorized Campsite #5.
The review's comparison to other motorized campsites, ranking it "very low, 5 of 6," primarily due to its proximity to the road and lack of seclusion, is an important factor to consider. If peace and quiet away from traffic noise and visual exposure are high priorities for your "camping near me" experience, this feedback suggests that Forbes Motorized Campsite #5 might not be the ideal choice. However, if convenience to trails and the state park outweighs the lack of complete seclusion, and the "plenty of room" is appealing, it could still be a viable option.

The provided information does not contain any specific promotional offers for Forbes Motorized Campsite #5. Typically, promotions for state-managed campgrounds might include off-season discounts or special packages. To discover any potential promotional offers, it is best to:
- Visit the PA DCNR Website: Their official website is the primary source for information regarding fees, reservations, and any ongoing promotions for their campgrounds.

Forbes Motorized Campsite #5 Reviews
Reserve through PA DCNR. A bit close to the road, but plenty of room and convenient to trails and Laurel Highlands State Park
May 01, 2022 · Bill NoonanThis campsite ranks very low, 5 of 6, in comparison to the motorized campsites I've been to. The problem is that it's only about 25 meters from the road and even with vegetation you're visible. Overall the site is fairly large with plenty of tent sites. If they would put this spot another 25 meters into the woods things would be much better.
Jan 01, 2022 · G PVery secluded spot, close to the road but only saw 1 truck in 3 days,
