Glade Farms Campground Introduce
Seeking a tranquil "camping near me" experience in West Virginia? Glade Farms Campground, located at 21058 N Preston Hwy, Bruceton Mills, offers a peaceful and relaxing environment that has charmed many visitors. If you're a local camper looking for a quiet escape with opportunities for fishing, this campground might be the perfect destination. However, it's important to be aware of certain limitations, particularly for those with large recreational vehicles.
A Peaceful and Relaxing Environment:
Numerous visitors have described Glade Farms Campground as a haven of peace and quiet. The serene atmosphere makes it an ideal location for those looking to escape the noise and stress of everyday life. One reviewer specifically highlighted the beautiful sunrises over the fishing pond, suggesting a picturesque setting that encourages relaxation and appreciation of nature's beauty. The emphasis on tranquility seems to be a key draw for many who have stayed at Glade Farms Campground.
Excellent Fishing Opportunities:
For local campers who enjoy fishing, Glade Farms Campground appears to be a particularly attractive option. The presence of a fishing pond is a significant feature, and the campground's catch and release policy ensures a healthy fish population for all to enjoy. According to one enthusiastic angler, the pond is home to various species, including small sunfish, bass, and even catfish that put up a good fight. The joy of fishing in a peaceful setting, with the potential for rewarding catches, makes Glade Farms a compelling choice for those who like to cast a line during their camping trips.
Friendly and Welcoming Owners:
A consistent positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the friendliness of the owners. The welcoming demeanor of the campground management can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, creating a more enjoyable and hospitable atmosphere for guests. Knowing that the owners are friendly and approachable can make campers feel more comfortable and well-cared for during their stay.
Important Considerations for RV Campers:
While Glade Farms Campground offers a lot of appeal, it's crucial for local users, especially those with larger recreational vehicles, to be aware of some significant limitations mentioned by a reviewer. This campground is explicitly described as "NOT for large RVs." The terrain is noted as very hilly, and the individual campsites are reported to be not level. These factors could make maneuvering and setting up large RVs challenging or even impossible. Campers with smaller trailers or tents might find the hilly terrain less of an issue, but those with substantial RVs should seriously consider this feedback before planning a trip to Glade Farms Campground.
Limited Amenities:
In addition to the challenges for large RVs, another aspect to consider is the limited availability of certain amenities. One reviewer mentioned the absence of a TV antenna, resulting in access to only three channels. Furthermore, the WiFi was reported to be poor. For campers who rely on these services for entertainment or staying connected, this could be a significant drawback. If you are looking for a campground with extensive technological amenities, Glade Farms might not meet your needs. The focus here seems to be more on a rustic and nature-oriented experience.
Short Stays Preferred by Some:
One reviewer who experienced the challenges with unlevel sites and limited amenities mentioned being glad they had only booked a two-day stay, implying that a longer stay might have been less enjoyable for them. This suggests that while the peaceful environment and fishing are appealing, the practical limitations of the campground might make it better suited for shorter getaways, particularly for those who are less self-sufficient or have specific needs regarding site levelness and connectivity.
Promotional Information and Recommendations for Local Campers:
For local campers in the Bruceton Mills area and beyond who are searching for a "camping near me" destination that prioritizes peace, quiet, and fishing, Glade Farms Campground offers a unique charm. The beautiful setting with its fishing pond and the friendly owners create a welcoming atmosphere for those looking to relax and connect with nature. The catch and release fishing policy promises enjoyable angling opportunities for all skill levels. However, it is imperative for potential visitors, especially those with RVs, to carefully consider the limitations mentioned regarding the hilly terrain and unlevel sites. Large RVs are likely not suitable for this campground. Campers who prefer a more rustic experience and are not reliant on strong WiFi or extensive TV channels might find Glade Farms Campground to be a delightful escape for shorter stays. If you value tranquility, fishing in a picturesque pond, and friendly hospitality, and if your camping setup is amenable to potentially uneven terrain, Glade Farms Campground could be your next local retreat. Contact the owners at (304) 288-9823 or +1 304-288-9823 to inquire further about site suitability for your specific needs and to plan your peaceful getaway.

Glade Farms Campground Reviews
This was our first time to Glade Farms and we loved it. It was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Everyone we spoke with was so friendly. The sunrises over the fishing pond were beautiful. We love to fish and this is the perfect place. It's catch and release so there are plenty of fish. We caught the small sunfish, some bass and the big ole' catfish. They sure gave us a fight. We highly recommend Glade Farms and we'll definitely be back☺️
Aug 16, 2022 · Brenda MethenyThis campground is NOT for large RVs. The sites are not level at all, the whole campground is very hilly. They have no Antenna for TV, so we only got 3 channels to choose from. Bad WiFi. We only stayed 2 days, so glad we didn’t plan a week stay , it was terrible! The owner was very nice, but the campground only gets 1 star. We will not be back to this one.
