Gold Brook Campground Introduce
Looking for the perfect "camping near me" that combines natural beauty with convenient amenities and access to local attractions? Consider Gold Brook Campground, located at 1900 Waterbury Rd, Stowe, VT 05672, USA. This campground offers a promising base for exploring the renowned Stowe area and enjoying the Vermont outdoors. Let's delve into what Gold Brook Campground has to offer, based on recent customer experiences shared online.
Environment:
The environment of Gold Brook Campground appears to be quite appealing, particularly for those who appreciate the soothing sounds of nature. One reviewer specifically mentioned that if you secure a site next to the river and sleep with your windows open, you can enjoy a very relaxing auditory experience. This suggests that the campground benefits from its proximity to a river, potentially offering scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere. While the reviews don't extensively detail the overall landscape, being located in Stowe, Vermont, implies that campers can expect to be surrounded by the region's characteristic natural beauty, including mountains, forests, and waterways.
It's worth noting that one review mentioned the campground had recently recovered from a major flood, and the staff was diligently working to repair the campsites. This indicates that the management is proactive in maintaining the grounds even in the face of natural challenges. The fact that sites are described as "clean and well maintained" further supports this.
One reviewer highlighted the generous spacing of some campsites, specifically mentioning that spots 1-5 were wide from neighbors. This is a significant advantage for campers who value a bit more privacy and space between sites.
Services and Amenities:
The staff at Gold Brook Campground seem to be a standout feature based on customer feedback. Multiple reviews praise their friendliness and helpfulness. One camper specifically lauded Naomi for being a "sweetheart" who made their stay pleasant by accepting mailed truck parts in advance and providing helpful information about local attractions and directions. This level of personalized service can greatly enhance a camping experience.
In terms of amenities, Gold Brook Campground offers a swimming pool, which is a significant plus, especially during the warmer months, providing a refreshing way to relax and cool down. The presence of laundry facilities, with a washer and dryer available at $2 each, is also a notable convenience, particularly for longer stays or for families who need to take care of laundry while on the road.
The positive interaction reported by one reviewer, who was invited by a neighboring single traveler for beer and conversation around a fireplace, suggests a friendly and inviting atmosphere among the campers themselves, which can be a valuable aspect of the overall experience.
Features:
A key feature of Gold Brook Campground is its location, which is described as being "close to Stowe." This provides easy access to the many attractions, dining options, and activities that Stowe is known for, such as skiing (in season), hiking, scenic drives, and charming local shops. This proximity allows campers to enjoy both the natural setting of the campground and the cultural and recreational offerings of a well-regarded Vermont town.
The presence of river-adjacent campsites, as mentioned by one reviewer who enjoyed the relaxing sound of the water, is another appealing feature for those who appreciate being close to a natural water source.
The clean and well-maintained sites contribute to a positive camping experience, ensuring a comfortable and tidy environment for visitors.
However, it's important to acknowledge all feedback. One review, while stating it didn't reflect on the campsite or owners, reported an unsettling incident involving the lack of privacy of other campers. While this seems to be an isolated incident concerning the behavior of specific individuals rather than a systemic issue with the campground itself, it's a part of the overall feedback received.
Promotional Information:
Based on the positive reviews, Gold Brook Campground promotes itself through the experiences of its happy campers. The repeated mentions of friendly and helpful staff, particularly Naomi, serve as a strong endorsement of the campground's hospitality. The fact that a camper had parts mailed to them and received assistance with local information highlights a willingness to go above and beyond for guests.
The mention of wide spots (1-5) could be seen as a promotional point for those seeking more spacious camping options. Similarly, the availability of a swimming pool and affordable laundry facilities are features that would attract different types of campers.
For those in search of "camping near me" that offers a blend of natural beauty (especially river access), friendly service, and proximity to the attractions of Stowe, Gold Brook Campground appears to be a strong contender. You can reach them at (802) 253-7683 or +1 802-253-7683. Their address is 1900 Waterbury Rd, Stowe, VT 05672, USA.
In conclusion, Gold Brook Campground offers a potentially wonderful camping experience in a beautiful part of Vermont. The positive feedback regarding the staff, clean and maintained sites, river access, and proximity to Stowe outweighs the isolated negative comment about a neighboring camper's behavior. The amenities like the pool and laundry further enhance its appeal. If you're looking for "camping near me" in the Stowe area, Gold Brook Campground is definitely worth considering. We recommend calling them directly to inquire about site availability and any specific needs you might have.

Gold Brook Campground Reviews
Office and camp staff were friendly and helpful and although they had just recovered from a major flood they were working hard to repair the campsites. This doesn't reflect on the campsite or owners, rather this one couple who were staying there. It was dark and they were in a white van with the lights on inside. You could see directly inside the van as they didn't put up any type of shade or privacy fabric over the front windshield. A quick glance over and all I saw was a naked behind facing what appeared to be a webcam. Not what I expected to see at a family friendly campsite, but it really upset me.Everyone else I met was very inviting and friendly. The single traveler next to me invited me over for beer and conversation around the fireplace. It was a wonderful evening. If you get a site next to the river and sleep with your windows open it is a very relaxing sound. There is a swimming pool and the sites are clean and well maintained. You are close to Stowe as well.
Sep 15, 2024 · A Divine CanineWhat a great four night stay we had camping here. Naomi is such a sweetheart and made our stay so pleasant. I needed parts for my truck mailed here in advance, she gave me the go ahead and had them waiting for me upon arrival. She also helped us history on places we wanted to visit and best way to get there. Her and her family do a great job of keeping this place up and running. Love how wide spots 1-5 were from your neighbor. Washer and dryer on site and only $2ea which is a real bargain compared to what we have had to pay. Thanks for a Great Stay!
Sep 24, 2024 · Mike GreeneNice location in a beautiful field. The sites are grass, which means there will be no sand in the RV.The laundry has one washer and one dryer. It was a pain for us since someone was doing two loads and we had two also. No folding table. It does have a large sink.Roads are hard to see at night, but go slow and be careful.I would recommend 4.5 but 4 it is.
Oct 10, 2024 · Brad HobbsWe had a great time camping here. Very quiet and clean. We have teeny children and the playground being in a nice open field with a view of all the mountains was relaxing. Falling asleep to the creek and the cicadas was a lovely way to spend a summer weekend.
Aug 19, 2024 · Aralene StuartThe employee was okay. The bathrooms were clean and didn't smell. They don't have normal tent sites because the flooding washed them all away. So we had to get an electric and water site for $53.50 which was a lot of money extra since we were just tenting and didn't use the extra amenities. The washer and dryer is $2 each and work well. They don't have laundry detergent though. There is a nice creek to sit at. The buildings have lights that stayed on all night which were bright and sucked.
