Goose Creek Resort Introduce
For local residents in the Newport, North Carolina area seeking a fun-filled 'camping near me' experience, Goose Creek Resort, located at 350 Red Barn Rd, Newport, NC 28570, USA, offers a range of amenities and a welcoming atmosphere that has left many visitors eager to return. Based on recent customer reviews, this resort seems particularly well-suited for families looking for entertainment and relaxation during their camping getaway.
The environment of Goose Creek Resort is described as "beautiful and well kept" by one first-time visitor who loved their stay and intends to return. This suggests that the grounds are maintained to a high standard, creating a pleasant and visually appealing setting for campers. While the same reviewer noted that most of the sites are permanent, the overall beauty of the resort still shines through for temporary guests. The presence of permanent sites often contributes to a more established and cared-for environment within a campground, which can be a positive aspect for all visitors seeking a comfortable 'camping near me' experience.
One of the standout features of Goose Creek Resort, particularly for families with children, is the presence of a pool with a slide. Both reviewers specifically mentioned and praised this amenity. One noted, "Loved the pool and slide," while another recounted how "My kids loved the slide, and it absolutely wore them out!" This indicates that the pool and slide are a major attraction, providing hours of fun and recreation for children and likely for adults as well. For local users searching for 'camping near me' with engaging water activities on-site, Goose Creek Resort appears to be a strong contender.
Waterfront access is another significant feature of Goose Creek Resort. One reviewer mentioned that they "fished and waded in the water right off the campsite." This suggests that some campsites offer direct access to a body of water, likely Goose Creek itself, providing opportunities for fishing, wading, and enjoying the waterfront environment. This is a valuable amenity for those who enjoy water-based activities and the scenic views that come with waterfront camping. For local users looking for 'camping near me' with the added benefit of being able to fish or simply relax by the water, Goose Creek Resort offers this appealing feature.
In terms of services and features beyond the pool, slide, and waterfront access, one reviewer mentioned that the "Bathrooms could be updated and was a little walk to them from where we were. But not terrible." This provides an honest assessment of the restroom facilities, indicating that while they might not be the newest, they are still functional and acceptable. The slight distance to the bathrooms from some campsites is a minor inconvenience that potential visitors should be aware of, especially when selecting their site. However, the reviewer's overall positive experience suggests that this was not a major deterrent.
Goose Creek Resort also seems to offer entertainment, particularly during holiday weekends. One reviewer who stayed over Memorial Day weekend reported that "They had a D.J. on Friday night and a dueling piano show on Saturday." This suggests that the resort hosts events and activities that can enhance the camping experience, providing additional entertainment for guests of all ages. For local users seeking 'camping near me' that offers more than just a campsite, with organized entertainment options, Goose Creek Resort appears to provide these, at least during peak seasons or special weekends.
While the reviews highlight the beauty of the resort, the pool and slide, waterfront access, and entertainment, they do not provide extensive details about other potential amenities. Information regarding the availability of Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, specific types of RV hookups (if applicable), or other recreational areas (like playgrounds or sports courts) is not mentioned. Local users considering Goose Creek Resort for their 'camping near me' needs might want to contact the resort directly to inquire about the full range of services and features offered to ensure it meets their specific requirements.
Similarly, the reviews do not contain any specific promotional information. There are no mentions of special rates, discounts for longer stays, or any seasonal offers that Goose Creek Resort might be running for local campers or visitors. To obtain information about current rates, availability, and any potential deals, it is recommended to contact the resort directly at (252) 393-2628 or +1 252-393-2628.
In conclusion, Goose Creek Resort in Newport, NC, appears to be a beautiful and well-kept campground that is particularly appealing to families looking for a fun 'camping near me' experience. The presence of a pool with a slide is a major highlight, and the waterfront access provides additional recreational opportunities. While the bathrooms might be a bit dated and located at a slight distance from some sites, the overall positive experiences shared by visitors, including the friendly atmosphere and organized entertainment during peak times, suggest a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Local users considering Goose Creek Resort for their next camping trip should contact the resort directly for detailed information on amenities, campsite availability, pricing, and any current promotions to make the most of their stay.

Goose Creek Resort Reviews
First time staying. Loved it and will be back. Most sites are permanent sites, but it was beautiful and well kept. Loved the pool and slide. Bathrooms could be updated and was a little walk to them from where we were. But not terrible.
Oct 08, 2024 · Amanda WenzelWe stayed for Memorial Day weekend, and it was fantastic! They had a D.J. on Friday night and a dueling piano show on Saturday. My kids loved the slide, and it absolutely wore them out! We fished and waded in the water right off the campsite, we will be back!
May 27, 2024 · Adam GibsonThe view of the sound and the breeze was remarkable. That was the best of our stay. The spot, even though "elite " was uneven and so close together, that the camper next to us had their rug under our camper, and the screen on their awning kept hitting against our camper. When they cooked out, they were right by our window. The water line had a leak so we list water for a while. The cable didn't work. The wifi company they told us to contact said they haven't serviced thst campground for over 2 months. It was a mess. Don't think we'll be able going back.
May 14, 2024 · Johanna MastSo we stayed there from 6-2 2023 to 6-06-2023. And it was so much fun, a lot of people had a lot of families there the bath house are are very clean. We got a spot right on the water we went fishing, swimming they have a huge slide which is so much fun! Although they have safety, when you hear thunder they close the pool down. Until it passes by which is good. The only thing that happened to us was the last night we were there 😱it rained really bad and our tent took on water so that sucked forgot to spray it with Scotch Guard, but otherwise we had a great time!
Jul 10, 2023 · mary murphyPretty nice. Large community that is pretty tightly packed, so it may feel a little crowded. But the facilities and campgrounds are nicely maintained. They could use a Charcoal grill you would find at most campsites, or a place to build a fire. As is you have to bring your own means to cook on site. Would return
