Greendale Campground Introduce
For local users in Vermont and surrounding areas searching for "camping near me," Greendale Campground, located at 698 Greendale Rd, Weston, VT 05161, USA, offers a seasonal opportunity to connect with nature. Based on the limited information available from online reviews, this campground appears to be appreciated for its natural beauty and accessibility during the warmer months.
One reviewer described Greendale Campground as "a great place to get away from the world," highlighting its potential for providing a peaceful and secluded camping experience. They also specifically mentioned "beautiful trails," suggesting that the environment around the campground is conducive to hiking and exploring the outdoors. A significant convenience noted was that "you can pull your vehicle up all the way to the camp site," implying easy access to individual camping spots, which can be particularly appealing for those with more gear or mobility considerations.
It is crucial for potential visitors to be aware of a significant seasonal limitation of Greendale Campground. Information provided explicitly states that "this campground is not accessible in the winter." The road leading to the campground, Greendale Road north of its intersection with Jenny Coolidge Road, transforms into a "snowmobile only trail during the winter months." This indicates that access by regular vehicles is not possible during the winter, and the campground essentially closes to traditional camping at that time of year.
One reviewer even left a one-star rating specifically to bring attention to this winter closure, noting, "I'm sure it would be beautiful and lovely in the other seasons!" This suggests that while the campground may be highly regarded during the spring, summer, and fall, it is not an option for winter camping enthusiasts looking for "camping near me" in the Weston, VT, area.
Considering the available information, the environment of Greendale Campground seems to be its primary draw, with beautiful trails for hiking and a setting that allows for a tranquil escape. The feature of being able to drive directly to the campsite adds a level of convenience for campers. However, the critical limitation is its seasonal accessibility, with a complete closure during the winter months due to the road becoming a snowmobile trail.
Details regarding specific services and features beyond the trails and accessible campsites are not provided in the available reviews. There is no mention of amenities such as restrooms, water sources, fire pits, or other common campground facilities. Therefore, local users considering a visit would need to be prepared for a potentially more rustic camping experience or seek additional information from other sources if available.
Similarly, there is no promotional information included in the provided text. To learn about any current offers, booking procedures, or the specific amenities available during the open seasons, it would be necessary to contact Greendale Campground directly or consult other online resources that might have more comprehensive details.
In summary, Greendale Campground in Weston, VT, appears to be a desirable "camping near me" option for those seeking a peaceful natural environment with beautiful trails and the convenience of vehicle access to campsites. However, it is essential to remember that this campground is seasonally operated and completely inaccessible by regular vehicles during the winter months. For local users planning a camping trip, Greendale Campground could be an excellent choice for a spring, summer, or fall getaway, offering a chance to "get away from the world" in a potentially lovely setting. Be sure to plan your visit accordingly, keeping the seasonal closure in mind.
If you are looking for a serene camping experience with hiking opportunities during the warmer seasons and appreciate the convenience of driving to your campsite, Greendale Campground might be worth exploring. Just remember to consider the time of year, as winter access is not available. For more details on amenities and booking, further research or direct contact with the campground would be beneficial.

It's a great place to get away from the world. Beautiful trails. And you can pull your vehicle up all the way to the camp site.

Feb 03, 2021 · Erin PWorst campground around, better off at Hapgood pond where they have facilities and a campground host that can take care of the loud partiers when you need to. No cell phone coverage so have to drive for emergency services contact. Bathroom was disgusting
Jun 15, 2022 · Cassondra CaseyGreat place to camp. Very cheap, only $10per site. Hiking trails and fresh water ways. Best campground I have been to. Very clean.
Aug 04, 2018 · Tech with DanI have been camping there for 40 years. It HAS changed, but I still love it. Nothing there but nothing.
