Described as a "privately owned farm," the journey to the campsite itself offers a glimpse into the owners' other activities. The campsite is accessed via approximately three-quarters of a mile of dirt roads, adding to the sense of being off the beaten path. Hanscombe Point Primitive camp ground Reviews
Simply wonderful. This is a privately owned farm, who has set up a campsite to share. Driving in, you can see all of their other activities. It was about three-quarter miles total of dirt roads to get in. Your GPS will take you to the beginning of the road, just keep going until the road ends to find the farm. My VW handled it fine if I just took it slow. Some of the roads got precarious and bumpy, and it would be difficult to get any sort of large camper in.The site was great! I was nestled in the trees, with a marsh and stream behind, and an open pasture ahead. I got to watch a glorious sunrise with the cows grazing! And about the cows, there is no barrier between you and them. Super cool. This was a very comfortable and fun experience for me. There was another camper on the other side of the site, but otherwise we were alone. The campsites are fairly close together, and this would not have been as enjoyable if they were all full. I could see privacy being an issue when it’s full. this is also a primitive site. The outhouse was full of spiders, and was the only amenity. This was disclosed upfront and not an issue. The location is also fantastic. This is the cheapest camping close to Charleston, and it is wonderful! Sure beats paying five times the price for a hotel, and this is much more fun. I will absolutely be back.
Oct 08, 2024 · Benji VreemanDeeply impressed with the beauty, access, and ease of use. Rules were quickly delivered and clear. Gate was easy to access. Impressed with the privy and firewood option. In short, this was an amazing stay. We look forward to coming again and thank the family for providing this camping option
Oct 05, 2024 · Amanda WrotenFirst time camping here and I will never camp anywhere else! Absolutely love this place. It is EXACTLY how it is described. It is primitive. Bring your own toilet paper. Why would you expect someone to stock it for you.The gorgeous sites are located in the woods off of a spectacular, massive field. At night, if it's clear, you can see a billion stars. There is no light pollution. The creek is fun to watch birds, and other wildlife. The massive trees are covered in Spanish moss. So peaceful. Yes it's a dirt road, muddy if it rains and bumpy, just take it slow. It is well worth it! Yes there are cow patties..its a working farm. That is what makes this place so much fun and unique!! Please "leave no trace". It only takes a few minutes to pick up after yourself. It's too beautiful here, don't ruin it. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay!
Apr 07, 2024 · Kris HoffmanWe had a good stay, just had quite a bit of difficulty with the muddy, rutted roads to the campsite. Do not recommend for RVs 21 feet and over. There are farm animals free roaming the property, so watch where you walk. The sites are very close together, so don't expect privacy. Husband said the outhouse was just fineThere was cut firewood accessible for purchase which was very nice. We enjoyed sitting beside the creek and watching the tide come in.
Mar 12, 2024 · Kimberlee WalgamotteLoved our experience here. VERY quiet. When you are self sufficient and dislike Myrtle Beach, then it s the perfect place to relax! It's a million star place.
