Charleston AFB Military RV Park (FamCamp) Reviews
A lot of the other reviews of this place detail some of the issues people might have, such as the aircraft noise from the runways. The noise was the only negative thing about this place, and we actually kind of enjoyed watching and hearing the aircraft. The rest of this campground is fantastic and is clean, well kept, and a great place to camp on a very clean and well kept base. I can't speak highly enough of this campground and is one of our favorites of all the campgrounds that we have stayed at. We highly recommend it as long as a little airport noise doesn't bother you.
May 02, 2025 · Justin BatesThis was my third time coming here. I love this place because it's eazy in and out to the park. It's clean and the people are so nice. I will come back if I'm in town.

Apr 06, 2024 · Tom CorraoI wish to thank everyone at the Joint base Charleston Fam Camp and at outdoor recreation office. People were friendly and worked hard to ensure our stay was a pleasant one. Been a few years since we were back in the low country and it did not disappoint. Great back in spot with plenty of shade. Military personnel on the base were kind, tactful and very professional. We love it. The campground is also close to the golfcourse, a plus for us golfers. Showers and Laundry house are clean and functional. We will definitely be back.
Jul 08, 2024 · David AssfalgThis was an amazing find just outside of Charleston for $23/night. The staff was very friendly at check in and one of the camp hosts stopped by to make sure we were set. The spot we had (#11) was a pull through on an extremely long and wide concrete pad with FHU. The bathrooms were neat and clean and we saw the camp hosts cutting firewood and doing other maintenance. I would say the only drawback is the proximity to the commercial airport with its early morning and late night flights. You don't get a spot # when making a reservation. They call you the day of to get your arrival time and assign a spot. The last ferry ride of the day out to Fort Sumter to see Evening Colors is pretty special.
