Situated in a hollow surrounded by hills in Weston, West Virginia, Hefners RV Park offers a tranquil environment for campers seeking a serene retreat. It's important to note, based on customer reviews, that this campground has a specific character, catering primarily to long-term or permanent residents, many of whom work on the pipeline. However, for those who value quiet and don't require amenities like a phone, pool, or immediate access to hiking trails, Hefners RV Park could be a suitable option.
The environment of Hefners RV Park & Campground is consistently described as peaceful and quiet. Nestled down in a hollow with hills all around, the campground benefits from a natural buffer that contributes to a sense of seclusion and tranquility. This setting is ideal for those looking to escape the noise and bustle of more crowded campgrounds or urban areas. The surrounding hills likely offer a scenic backdrop, enhancing the overall sense of being in a natural retreat. While there are no hiking trails directly within or immediately adjacent to the campground, the beauty of the West Virginia landscape is still present in the surrounding area. The mention of a "big grassy area" suggests open space within the campground, which is particularly beneficial for families with children, providing a place for them to play. However, it's important to be aware that accessing dedicated hiking trails requires a drive of approximately 20 minutes, as noted by a reviewer who walks their dogs. Despite the lack of on-site trails, the quiet and natural hollow setting provides a relaxing ambiance for those staying at the campground.
Services at Hefners RV Park & Campground are functional and cater primarily to RV campers, especially those staying for extended periods. The availability of both 30 and 50 amp electrical service is a significant advantage for RVs with different power requirements. The provision of city water hookups ensures a reliable water supply for campers. Weekly "bumpster" garbage pickup is another practical service, particularly beneficial for long-term residents but also convenient for shorter stays. Reviews highlight that there is plenty of room between the campsites, offering a sense of space and privacy. The owners are described as local brothers and "very cool guys," suggesting a friendly and approachable management. While there is no phone service directly provided by the campground and no pool on-site, the essential utilities for RV living are available. For basic shopping needs, a Walmart is conveniently located about 4 miles away, and the town of Weston, with further amenities, is just a short drive beyond that. It's important to reiterate that there are no hiking trails directly accessible from the campground, a point explicitly mentioned in a review despite a potential discrepancy on the website. Therefore, campers looking for immediate trail access should consider this limitation.
The features of Hefners RV Park & Campground are geared towards providing a comfortable and functional stay, particularly for long-term RV residents. The availability of 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups caters to a wide range of RV sizes and power needs. The city water connection ensures a reliable water supply. The spaciousness between campsites is a notable feature, offering more privacy and room compared to some more tightly packed campgrounds. The big grassy area provides a valuable space for children to play. The campground is described as clean, which is a significant positive aspect for any camping facility. The presence of long-term or permanent residents, including pipeline workers, contributes to a sense of community, and they are described as "very nice folks." However, potential short-term campers should be aware of this demographic. The proximity to essential amenities like Walmart and the town of Weston is a practical feature, offering easy access to shopping and services. A key feature to note is the absence of on-site hiking trails, despite a possible mention of them on the website, as confirmed by a reviewer who had to drive to find walking areas for their dogs.
Promotional information for Hefners RV Park & Campground is somewhat implicit in the reviews. The emphasis on peace and quiet could be a significant draw for those seeking a tranquil "camping near me" experience. The spaciousness of the sites and the cleanliness of the campground are also positive selling points. The friendly nature of the owners and the sense of community among the long-term residents might appeal to those looking for a welcoming environment. However, potential campers should be aware of the lack of on-site amenities like a pool and the absence of immediate hiking trails. For those working on the pipeline or needing long-term RV accommodation in the Weston area, the campground's existing resident base and practical amenities like 30/50 amp service and weekly garbage pickup make it a viable option. To inquire about current rates for short-term stays, site availability, and any specific policies, it is recommended to contact Hefners RV Park & Campground directly at (304) 203-9033 or +1 304-203-9033. "No phone, no pool, no pets", as the old Roger Miller song goes. If you don't have to have that stuff at your campsite, then this one will do you just fine. Nestled down in a hollow with hills all around, this is as peaceful and quiet as it gets! 30 or 50 amp, city water and weekly bumpster garbage pickup. Plenty of room between spots. Owners are local brothers and very cool guys. The other campers and I are long-term or permanent residents, and all very nice folks. Walmart 4 miles away plus the town of Weston a stone's throw further. What's not to like?!? 😎
Sep 16, 2020 · Rick TinerNot bad place everybody is full timers here most work on the pipeline lots of kids around and nice big grassy area for them all to play. Harley the owner is decent and place is clean. There are no hiking trails around or a place to walk. Gotts drive 20 mins to walk the dogs is my only complaint. I believe the website says there is trails. There is not.
Dec 21, 2020 · Jason BaileyWhen I think of an RV park, Hefner's is not what I imagine. There are no amenities or even an office, it is literally just a place to park your rig with hookups and a dumpster. With that being said compared to others in the area that are basically gravel parking lots, Hefner's is the best around. There is at least a grassy yard area and large sites which are fairly well maintained. When we did have a minor problem with water, Harley very promptly took care of it. We stayed for three months while in the area for work and enjoyed our time here due to great neighbors and a pleasant owner.
Jan 01, 2021 · Lindsey BaileyA great place for families with kids or without. It's pet friendly, Trails to take your kids hiking on, very friendly people, and quiet nights. Also it is about 5 min to Wal-Mart from here.
Jul 26, 2018 · Lindsey BufkinHefner’s is a quiet little campground for RVs with full hook ups. It’s clean and quiet. Large spaces enable privacy and the family that runs the place are lovely. Two brothers have the sites hence separate phone numbers on the board. Randy has the side with fewer but larger spots. He was our landlord and I can say he was an exceptional landlord! As many places as we have traveled never have we had a more accommodating camping experience. we were full-time for months for a work contract and found the location close just between two exits to 79 which made it very convenient. Also Walmart, gas, and restaurants and urgent care are close by. 600/650 a month includes everything!
