Hickory Ridge Campground LLC Introduce
For local RV enthusiasts and travelers searching for 'camping near me' along Interstate routes in Missouri, Hickory Ridge Campground LLC, located at 99 State Hwy TT in Montgomery City, offers a conveniently situated and well-maintained option. Based on recent feedback from fellow travelers, this campground provides easy access to the freeway while maintaining a surprisingly quiet atmosphere, making it a comfortable stopover or a base for exploring the surrounding area.
One of the primary advantages of Hickory Ridge Campground is its strategic location right off the interstate. This ease of access is a significant benefit for those traveling through the region and looking for a hassle-free overnight stay or a longer-term spot. Despite its proximity to the freeway, multiple reviewers have commented on the lack of significant noise, indicating that the campground is effectively buffered from the sounds of passing traffic. This combination of convenience and tranquility is a key feature for many RVers seeking a comfortable and restful stop.
The campground appears to cater well to recreational vehicles of all sizes. One reviewer with a substantial 42' 5th wheel and a Ford F350 truck reported having "plenty of room" at their water and electric (w/e) site. This suggests that Hickory Ridge Campground offers spacious sites capable of accommodating even large "big rig" setups. The escort to the site, as mentioned by another visitor, is a thoughtful service that ensures guests can easily navigate the campground and locate their assigned spot, especially given that "the place is bigger than it first looks." This personal touch adds to the positive initial impression of the campground.
The layout of Hickory Ridge Campground includes a mix of site sizes. While some sites are noted as being "close together," others are described as "very spacious." This variability suggests that it might be beneficial to inquire about site dimensions and preferences when making a reservation, if possible, to ensure you are allocated a site that meets your specific needs for space and maneuverability. The fact that the host provides an escort offers an opportunity to get a comprehensive view of the campground layout and the different types of sites available.
In terms of amenities, Hickory Ridge Campground offers essential hookups for RVs, including water and electricity at many sites. The availability of diesel fuel at a nearby gas station is also a practical convenience for those traveling in diesel-powered vehicles. While specific details about other services within the campground are limited in the provided reviews, the mention of long-term residents suggests that the park offers the infrastructure and environment suitable for extended stays, implying the presence of standard RV park utilities.
For pet owners, Hickory Ridge Campground boasts a "big dog park." This is a significant feature for travelers with dogs, providing a dedicated and spacious area where their furry companions can exercise and socialize off-leash. The presence of a dog park adds to the appeal of the campground for those who travel with pets, offering a safe and enjoyable space for them.
One minor negative point raised by a reviewer was encountering dog poop while unhooking their RV. While this appears to be an isolated incident, it serves as a reminder for pet owners to be responsible for cleaning up after their animals to ensure a pleasant environment for all guests. The presence of a dog park suggests that the campground is pet-friendly, and hopefully, such incidents are infrequent.
Beyond the campground itself, the local environment offers additional attractions. A "nice state park about a mile down the road with a bunch of hiking trails" provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreation. For those looking to stretch their legs and explore the natural beauty of the area, the proximity to hiking trails is a significant bonus. This allows visitors staying at Hickory Ridge Campground to easily access additional activities beyond the campground itself.
While one reviewer noted some road noise, particularly at sites closer to the interstate, they also mentioned that it did not bother them once they were inside their RV. This suggests that while some ambient noise from the nearby freeway might be present, it is generally not intrusive enough to significantly detract from the camping experience, especially if your site is located further back within the campground. When booking, it might be worth inquiring about site locations relative to the interstate if noise sensitivity is a concern.
Considering the 'camping near me' category for those in or passing through the Montgomery City, MO, area, Hickory Ridge Campground LLC presents a practical and comfortable option, particularly for RV travelers. Its easy on-and-off access to the interstate, coupled with its surprisingly quiet environment, makes it an appealing stopover. The spacious sites, capable of accommodating large RVs, and the availability of water and electric hookups cater to the needs of RVers. The inclusion of a large dog park is a significant plus for those traveling with pets, and the proximity to a state park with hiking trails offers additional recreational opportunities.

Hickory Ridge Campground LLC Reviews
Hickory Ridge is a nice little RV park. It’s right off the freeway but it’s not loud at all. Appears to be some long term residents but the park is clean and quiet. We only stayed one night but I’d stay again if I am in the area. There’s also a nice state park about a mile down the road with a bunch of hiking trails if you’re looking for something to do.
Apr 25, 2025 · Matt REasy on and off interstate. We had a w/e site, escorted to our site. There was plenty of room for our 42' 5th wheel and F350.Diesel available at gas station.Place is bigger than it first looks. Glad we had an escort as we got a complete view of the campground. Some sites were close together, and others were very spacious. The host was friendly. There was some road noise, I think if you were further back in the campground it would be an issue. Did not bother us once we went inside.Big dog park.Only negative, stepped in dog poop as we were unhooking. Yuck.
Apr 13, 2025 · Dinah CharlesWe really love this campground! This was our first time with the new owners and they were great! She was helpful on the phone and he was really good checking us in. There was snow and cold temps and we did fine. Bath house was warm. We like to stay by the dog park which our dogs love. We will be staying here again as we travel through there twice a year.
Feb 20, 2025 · Holly SnyderMarch 9 so it is off season. Down to one bathroom. Appears they are doing upgrades to the camp. Nice place, spacious with lots of open areas for play. Surrounded by a forest. I think new owners so I hope the camp has a bright future. Very courteous making reservations and then confirming our arrival. Worth the costs. I will come back.
Mar 10, 2025 · rvbob914I hate giving poor reviews after the person who took my reservation was so nice. I was in a section that seemed to be full of full-timers and most of the campers there had so much "stuff" at their sites, that the area looked like a ghetto. I had to share a water connection with my next door neighbor and had no pressure for shower, or really any thing else. Also, there was no breaker on the electric connection at the pedestal, and I could have blown my electrical system in my trailer. My site was very narrow, and fortunately, I only stayed one night. There was a much nicer area in the front of the park and wish I would have stayed there.
