Hueston Woods Cabins Reviews
These cabins are great! Perfect for the outdoorsy types. They have gas fireplaces, grills, picnic tables, and fireplaces, woods, and trails to walk, and some have a view of the lake. The one we stayed in had 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed,I believe it is, and one has bunk beds with the bottom bunk bigger than the top and a trundle bed under the bottom bunk so you can fit several guests. There is also a fully equipped kitchen including pots and pans, cooking utensils and dinnerware. There are linens available at the lodges front desk and cleaning supplies like broom, dustpan, vacuum, etc in each cabin. There is also a very nice bathroom with a shower So very peaceful and serene. I would stay in one permanently if I could. Definitely recommend going. You'll love it.
Apr 27, 2025 · Tina CumminsThe couple's cabin is fine. Ours had some cobwebs and generally felt rather outdated. But it was good overall. The bed was clean, although it's a full-sized bed so it's small for two people. We had a view of the lake from our window and fully enjoyed a secluded weekend away. Staff was also super helpful and pleasant each time we interacted with them.
Mar 27, 2025 · Tara WilsonWe loved our first stay in the cabins. Plenty of room for our family. Everything was clean and in working order. We took advantage of the fire ring, grill, screened deck, fireplace and proximity to trails.
Apr 17, 2025 · Tim BurtFirst of all, the cabins themselves are very nice, and their stock with most of the things that you'd probably want to cook a meal. You've got pots and pans and a colander, a toaster, there's a small glass top stove which is very nice. There's no dishwasher but there is a nice small sort of beer size fridge but enough to hold a few things that you might bring. We stayed in a couples cabin which is very nice. It's a little small but again it has what you need. The cabins are well kept. Ours was immaculately clean. The cabins are pretty isolated and the ones along the lake which do cost slightly extra, have an amazing view. It's a great place for a getaway weekend or longer. It's also not far from the lodge and the food there is pretty good! The cabin also comes with a little picnic table and a nice fire ring and there's also a separate grilling area with an affixed metal grill. They'll provide you with firewood for a fairly hefty markup, but if you look carefully on your drive in, you'll see a couple of places that sell firewood that's much more reasonable. Tip: wait till a day like Black Friday and you can save a lot on your reservations!
Nov 24, 2023 · John W. Thomas IIILet me lead with the fact that we found bed bugs in the bunk bed of the cabin. We checked in at the front desk. The staff was very nice and the lodge has beautiful views of the lake. When I asked about the beach area by the cabins, I was told to watch out for broken glass and possibly needles since people like to party there. Please note this is the cabin beach and not the main beach area we were discussing. The cabin was on a cursory glance clean but definitely run down. We always check the couch and beds before we unpack our gear and for the first time ever, we found bed bugs. We bagged one up in a ziplock bag and drove right back to the lodge. They were once again, very nice and promptly gave us a refund for our deposit as seen on the attached picture.Overall cost for 3 nights was approx $850. For that cost you could rent a nice cabin in Gatlinburg or Hocking Hills for this time of year. I didnt have high expectations at all for the cabin and yet they still fell short.I hate leaving bad reviews, especially when the staff was so nice throughout. But... we bought fishing gear, camping supplies, food... I took PTO from work. We packed and drove to the park just to find a very run down cabin with bed bugs and to return home all in the same day. And thats not including the knowledge that we couldnt use the beach by the cabins due to glass and possibly needles. We were prob in the cabin for a total of 20 mins.
