Jersey Shore Haven Airstream Park Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" with a specific interest in Airstream accommodations, Jersey Shore Haven Airstream Park, located at 728 Dennisville Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, USA, offers a distinctive camping experience. It's important to note that this campground primarily caters to full-season Airstream owners who essentially "park" their units for the entire season. However, there are a limited number of guest sites available for short-term stays.
According to customer reviews, Jersey Shore Haven Airstream Park is described by some as a "little hidden gem," appreciated for its peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained facilities. These amenities include a large pool, clean bathrooms, and a gathering hall, all reportedly maintained by Airstream volunteers. This suggests a strong sense of community among the seasonal residents and a commitment to keeping the park in good condition.
However, it's crucial for prospective short-term visitors to be aware of certain limitations highlighted in other reviews. The availability of guest (non-member) campsites is very limited, with only three such sites mentioned. These sites are described as "very tight," and one reviewer recounted difficulties maneuvering a 27' Flying Cloud Airstream into a site without having to move tree branches and shrubbery. This raises concerns about the ease of access and potential for scratching larger RV units. The reviewer explicitly stated that they were hesitant to risk damaging their newly ceramic-coated Airstream.
Furthermore, the guest sites reportedly have only 30 amp electrical service. One guest experienced power outages at the pedestal while running a single air conditioner and a microwave, even with MicroAir Easy Starts installed on the AC units, which are designed to reduce startup power draw. This suggests that the electrical infrastructure at the guest sites might be limited and could pose challenges for RVs with higher power demands.
Another point of concern raised by a guest was the functionality of utilities at the guest sites. The cable television was reported as not working, and the Wi-Fi was described as "barely usable." These issues could be significant for travelers who rely on these services for entertainment or connectivity.
While the campground is praised for its peaceful environment and the cleanliness of its bathrooms, the overall infrastructure and site accessibility for short-term guests appear to be areas of potential concern. The limited number of guest sites and the challenges associated with maneuvering into them, particularly for larger Airstreams, are important factors for local users to consider.
One reviewer also noted the presence of older, seemingly unmaintained Airstreams on the premises, describing certain areas as looking like an "Airstream graveyard." While this observation might not directly impact the experience of a short-term guest, it could contribute to the overall aesthetic of the park for some visitors.
In summary, Jersey Shore Haven Airstream Park offers a unique camping experience primarily tailored to seasonal Airstream owners. For local users specifically searching for an Airstream-only campground near Cape May, it presents certain features and limitations to consider:
- Primarily for Seasonal Airstreamers: The park is largely occupied by long-term residents.
- Limited Guest Sites: Only a few non-member campsites are available for short stays.
- Tight Campsites: Maneuvering larger RVs into the guest sites may be challenging due to limited space and overhanging vegetation.
- Basic Amenities: Offers a pool, clean bathrooms, and a gathering hall.
- 30 Amp Electrical Service: Guest sites have limited electrical capacity, which may not be sufficient for all RVs.
- Potentially Unreliable Utilities: Cable TV may not work, and Wi-Fi connectivity might be poor at the guest sites.
- Peaceful Environment: Described as a quiet and tranquil location.
- Clean Bathrooms: Consistently praised for their cleanliness.
For local Airstream owners seeking a long-term community near the Jersey Shore, Jersey Shore Haven Airstream Park might be an appealing option. The strong sense of community among the volunteers and seasonal residents could be a significant draw. However, for those looking for a short-term "camping near me" experience in an Airstream, it's crucial to weigh the potential challenges related to site accessibility, limited amenities at the guest sites, and the 30 amp electrical service. It's advisable to contact the park directly at (609) 861-2293 or +1 609-861-2293 to inquire about the specific conditions of the guest sites and determine if it meets your needs and the size of your Airstream. Given the feedback, local users with larger Airstreams or those requiring robust utilities might want to explore other camping options in the Cape May area that offer more spacious sites and comprehensive amenities.

Jersey Shore Haven Airstream Park Reviews
We love this little hidden gem of a place. It has a big pool, clean bathrooms, a gathering hall and it is all maintained by fellow airstream volunteers. Those who give it a bad review, although it makes us sad, good. Go somewhere else. Leaves more space for those who LOVE staying here!! See you soon!!
Jun 27, 2023 · Ela CrespinWe are NJ residents and wanted to go to Cape May for the day and just finished our short 1 night stay here. Was a little let down on the attention to detail especially for an Airstream only campground. First, this facility is mostly for full season Airstreamers that literally "park" there for the entire season. There are only 3 guests (non member camp sites) all VERY tight and had difficulty pulling in without moving tree branches and shrubbery out of the way. We have a 2022 27' Flying Cloud. I wasn't about to scratch our new unit that was just ceramic coated on the entire exterior. Plus they have the rally field if you so chose but doesn't have sewer hookup there. We were at site E-21 which was the better of the 3 sites I thought. The cable didn't work and and wifi was barely usable though. Only 30amp service as well which popped at the pedestal several times just running our single A/C and microwave. My A/Cs also have MicroAir Easy starts installed which barely pull any power to run compared to standard A/C. If we had our bikes on the roof of the TV we would have hit the branches quite significantly. On the way out and exiting the campground, I had to have my son pull another pine tree branch out of the way as I drove forward to avoid it hitting and scratching the top nose of our Airstream. Bare bones facility though do agree it was very peaceful. Bathrooms were super clean. Surprised to see some very old and non-maintained Airstreams on the premises. Looked like an Airstream graveyard in certain spots. I would die if I let my unit get that bad on the maintenance side.Unlikely we would stay here again as there are better options in the area with more amenities but the large issue for me was the space factor to getting in and out of the campground so you don't scratch your unit.
Sep 06, 2022 · Jay MarucciThis place is maintained by the community and a small staff. It is beautiful and peaceful. The lay out is well thought out. It is required you have an airstream so it is a bit hoity toity but otherwise we like it here. Pool, bath house, community hangout zone. If you are lucky enough to have grandparents that happened to have grabbed a plot I would recommend using it.
Jun 18, 2022 · Tsume KatavchVery nice Airstream only campground. No frills - nothing fancy facility. Nice heated pool, clean bathroom/ showers. Spacious sites, friendly staff and very reasonable rates. Great collection if Airstreams of all models & ages. Friendly campsite occupants.
Apr 29, 2019 · stephen landryI live across the street from Jersey shore airstream. It's very quiet and peaceful here you wouldn't even know there was a campground across the Street if it wasn't for the sign. I have a friend that has an airstream there it's very quiet and peaceful.
