Knight Hollow Campground Reviews
Loved this spot! Gorgeous place to see the stars! Visited in early September, weather was perfect, mosquitoes get pretty gnarly around 7p-8p but then they leave you alone. Site was big, lots of places to run with my dog, got to play with the truck too!
Sep 24, 2023 · Skyler ElwoodBathrooms need to be cleaned more for the price you pay nightly but this place is beautiful.
Jul 03, 2021 · Madeline PriestDay use only in late September. Positives - had the place to ourselves. Good area to hang-out for the day with plenty of sand, access to water for kayaks or SUP, shade, and a modest ATV area for playing around. Negatives - tons a gnats until the wind picked up; main gravel road disappears very quickly once past the fee station and offshoots are generally very sandy as in you can get stuck if pulling something heavy.

Jul 18, 2020 · David AsayI stayed at this campground in late June, and I was quite disappointed with the sites. I was still able to have a good time, but I don't think I will ever camp here again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.I'll start with the positives and say this site is great if you have a shore-launchable boat and an RV. It seemed like every group up there was a family with an RV or Camper Trailer. There are a large number of pull through spots, most of which are right on the lake side. That's it for positives.Pricing: This camp site is ridiculously overpriced. It cost us $22 per vehicle per night. There are no group rates even though the signs say there are, so If you plan on camping with friends, you had better be flush with cash. The sites are all primitive too, so your $22 gets you no electric, no water, no pavilions, and no tables.Quality: The pricing wouldn't have been so frustrating if there had been any real camp sites. The "sites" here aren't numbered or even maintained. Some sites were barely big enough to house a single RV. Every fire pit was just a bunch of rocks some other group had lumped together. The "sites" were all sloped with all of one flat place to put a tent if you were lucky. It's clear a lot of people have camped here, but that doesn't make this a campground.Maintenance: When we arrived on Friday, the double bathroom was out of Hand Sanitizer in one side, and toilet paper on both sides. They did get refilled eventually, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it only happens once a week. In addition to the bathrooms, the campground itself was poorly maintained. There was garbage and beer bottles all up and down the roads here, and it was there when we left. The DNR crew came and left without cleaning up anything. I'll state again that we paid $22 per vehicle so we could have trash blowing in to camp all weekend. Not impressed.Fishing: The north side of this lake has a lot of good places to shore-fish from, both with bait and jigs, but don't worry about that, you won't catch anything. We tried every color of power-bait, plus 20 types and colors of jigs and lures. Between 6 fishermen and 10 hours of fishing we had two bites. I'm sure the deep water fishing is better, but if you don't have a boat, avoid this lake.Overall I was really not impressed by this campsite. I still enjoyed the trip, but this campground soured the experience a lot. I'm sure there are people who would love to camp here, but I imagine those people have RVs and small-craft boats. If you don't have these items, save your money and go to a real campsite.
